Addyi: Female Viagra Fact or Fiction

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Medication to cure erectile dysfunction has been on the market for men since 1998. After several trials of the drug Flibanserin, (Addyi) a little pink pill has finally been approved by the FDA for women. Scheduled to be on the Market, October 17th, 2015, the real question is, does Addyi cure low libido or just fill the pockets of big pharma?

After two unsuccessful trials and efforts to bring Flibanserin to market in 2010 and 2013, Sprout Pharmaceuticals has purchased the rights to market Addyi.

Cardiologists are already warning women about the five signs of heart attack. If the most activity you have is climbing onto the top of an erect penis, you had better heed the warnings. Leading a sedentary lifestyle and having a vigorous sex life could be detrimental to your health. You might die with a smile on your face or a slight grin.

The (Sort Of) Good News

The trials of Flibanserin found that women had a slight increase in thoughts about sex and a warming sensation in the genitals. The drug increases blood flow to the genitals. There was a "significant movement" toward orgasm (whatever that means). Women found an increase of 0.7 more sexual exploits in a month period.

The Bad News

Side-effects include nausea, dizziness, fainting and low blood pressure. You cannot drink alcohol while taking Addyi. Alcohol severely increases the risks of nausea, dizziness, fainting and low blood pressure. You may not want to drive while taking this drug. It must be taken twice a day to achieve the possible 0.7 % improvement. If no results have been achieved in eight weeks, it is recommended that you stop taking the drug.

My Personal Preference

I am a health nut. I avoid doctors like the plague. I also avoid taking any kind of medication 106,000  (2013 statistic) people a year die accident taking prescription drugs, in the United States. To further illustrate this point, when you look at the daily deaths the number is nearly 300 a day. My aunt who was a medical doctor expressed this sentiment, "Only go to the doctor if you need to. Take only those prescriptions that are absolutely necessary for life."

Some of this is due to over prescribing, where drugs interact with one another. Other deaths are from sensitivity. My mother and father taught us early, don't take drugs or medicine. Unless I have a broken bone, I don't go to doctors. Doctors want to give you a pill if you get teary eyed about your old dog maybe dying. I don't like to take prescription medication. I don't even take over the counter meds, like ibuprofen, Advil or cold remedies. I prefer to make food my medicine and am healthy as a result.

My Libido Booster

I love the Irwin Naturals Steel Libido. I used it recently over a five- day-period and found it incredible for boosting my excitability, drive and sensitivity. It even increases lubrication if taken daily. I found no negative side effects at all because it is plant based

The only drawback was the cost. The recommended dose is four capsules daily. You can skip taking it if you and your partner are away from each other for an extended period. It took my body about three days to catch up to the "highly excitable" stage.

I found this product on-line for as little as $22.00. Vitamin Shoppe and GNC both carry it in their stores. I prefer something that is proven to work with no side-effects versus something big pharma is touting that might come with a serious risk of heart attack or fainting. Fainting itself doesn't feel good, but hitting a toilet, sink or tile floor when you fall could cause serious damage to your head to the point of concussion or death.

What's In Irwin Naturals Steel Libido? See label above. Nothing harmful or toxic.

Foria is another interesting option if you live in a marijuana-friendly state. I wrote a blog post about this amazing sexual stimulant that can give a woman a 7 minute (or longer) orgasm. You just might want to try this one! Colorado, here we come!

Horny Goatweed

Horny Goatweed was found when shepherds saw what it instilled in their goat herds. The farmers tried it too and found it worked for both men and women. I have used Horny Goatweed as well and was delighted with the results. Again, I recommend using something plant based before a pharmacy prescription that might cause your heart to fail, dizziness or you to faint. Nothing makes me crazier than to be in the middle of an orgasm and faint dead away! It takes me out of the moment.

Don't Take My Word For It

Orgasm For Life Review By Gynecologist:

I have read your book that is well done and should be a best seller. I have not seen a book like yours since the classic work that celebrate human physical intimacy with such authority and clarity that a whole generation in the 70's felt empowered to enjoy sex. It was groundbreaking and unique in a wide range of subjects it discussed and in its reassuring authority and sense of fun. No other book has come close except yours in providing such a wise, witty, uninhibited - sometimes delightfully eccentric - guide to lovemaking. Dr. Fred Parrot MD.

What Does A Female Orgasm Feel Like?

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Nearly two thirds of women think they have had an orgasm, but aren't sure. If you think you had one, but aren't completely sure, you probably didn't. When you do, you will KNOW IT! Sadly many women get to the end of their lives without ever knowing the amazing feeling of an orgasm. The purpose of this blog is to make sure that woman isn't you!

As sexual tension builds in a woman's body, her nipples may become erect, her breathing changes, she may become silent. The pelvis and vagina become intensely alive, the clitoris changes shape and becomes erect. The labia and vagina become elongated and the uterus
changes position. Blood flow increases in the pelvic region which engorges the clitoris, labia, vagina and the G-spot. A tingling sensation begins to move upwards through the body from the perineum, sometimes with spasms in the anus, always in the vagina and throughout the body.

Your Brain On Orgasm

Waves of intense pleasure surge upward all the way through the central column (spinal column) into the frontal cortex of the brain, releasing pleasure hormones, that reduce the sensation of pain, increasing sensitivity in all areas of the body. An MRI study shows how 80 centers of the brain light up like fireworks in the night sky, at the time of orgasm for women.

Pulsing waves of pleasure continue moving downward after the culmination in the brain, that can be felt in the face, neck, arms, breasts, thighs and pelvis and feet. Her legs might twitch, tense and the toes may curl and release. Oxytocin is released from the brain (the cuddle or God hormone), which can leave the woman with the
"in love" feeling. Oxytocin causes women to trust or bond with their sex partner, often when they shouldn't. Which is why so many experts recommend waiting to have sex until you have an established loving relationship.

This increased oxygen flow can leave the chest and face feeling flushed, radiant and alive. The face flush can be a dead giveaway for sex (remember those teenage years?) The vagina and body may jerk involuntarily as the waves of pleasure move and subside. She may smile, sigh or even erupt in tears with the tension release occurring. Many women report having the feeling of being in touch with a higher power in the throws of orgasm.

Multiple Orgasms

Multiple orgasms are a continued flow of energy upward and downward throughout the body. Wave after wave of pleasure ebbs and flows. Multiple orgasms can be more body focused, than genital, with undulating body movements and jerky limbs. Some women can allow continued stimulation during her orgasm to continue. More often than not, a woman's body is so highly sensitized at this point that even the slightest touch could send her body into involuntary convulsions and jerky motions. Some women have such an intense release that they black out or feel faint after orgasm. This is why the French call an orgasm la petite mort, "Little Death."

Some intense orgasms can actually cause cramping in the colon, rectum and anus. This can be caused by lactose intolerance, constipation or other issues. When I experienced this, it was due to pizza as melted cheese is especially difficult to digest. Pizza is off my diet plan, as I prefer pain free orgasms!

When a woman is having an orgasm she may want all stimulation to stop, as her clitoris, nipples and abdomen can become highly sensitive. Oxytocin is released which flows through the body giving her an intoxicated feeling of mellow enjoyment and bliss.
