How To Increase Your Happiness Quotient Fast

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Happiness can be elusive. There was a time when I found it very difficult to feel an ounce of happiness because my focus was always on my problems.

Over time, I realized that my thoughts created the illusion I was living in that felt very real. Today, my life is vastly different due to my focus. It isn't that problems don't arise, I just look at those challenges very differently. One of the things I do to charge me up is to go to my happy place as often as I can.

Growing up in Toronto where summer was only about three months long, and far from the ocean I rarely got an opportunity to walk on a beach unless I bought a plane ticket and flew to an island somewhere. I have always loved to travel and have adventures. What I discovered about myself is that I need to move my body often and visit new places regularly. I filmed this short video yesterday I promise you it will give you a little joy and help you have a better day!

Even though I live 92 miles from the closest beach, distance doesn't stop me from getting there often. I usually visit the beach at least once a month no matter the time of year. In the summer months, I try to get to the beach once a week. I feel the investment in time and money *(gas), wear and tear on my vehicle is worth the inspiration and joy I receive from being on the beach. Yesterday I had a blast all by myself with my little dog Yoda walking three miles or more and swimming in the surf.

Where is your happy place?

How often do you visit your happy place?

Do you meditate? Why not?

What is your excuse for NOT being happy on a daily basis?

Do you feel you can't do this alone? That's okay, you don't have to. Why don't you schedule a FREE Get Acquainted Call with me if you are ready to commit time and dollars to your personal growth and happiness and see if my work is a good fit for you.

With Much Love,

You Might Be Self-Destructive If:

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Once we become aware of the powerful creative force of our words and thoughts, we begin to choose them more carefully. Until then, we can create misery, havoc, and destruction with our unwitting thinking, and words. The following are ways we create what we don't want.

 Keep reading for the remedy.

You might be self-destructive if
you say or think any of the following:

  1. This is hard.
  2. Life is hard.
  3. I'll never get this.
  4. I will never learn.
  5. How stupid am I?
  6. I am stupid.
  7. I will never understand.
  8. I am broke.
  9. I don't have any money.
  10. I am powerless.
  11. I am an asshole!
  12. Men always hurt me.
  13. Love hurts.
  14. No one will ever love me.
  15. I am too old.
  16. I am too dumb.
  17. I can't figure this out.
  18. Women always take my money.
  19. This kills me.
  20. All women are bitches.
  21. I don't get this.
  22. I never have enough.
  23. I hate life.
  24. I hate myself.
  25. My cancer.
  26. My _________ disease.
  27. My kids hate me.
  28. Nobody loves me.
  29. I am not _______ enough.
  30. I'll never have enough.
  31. I'll never have what it takes.
  32. I hate my life.
  33. I hate life.
  34. Everyone is out to get me.
  35. Life isn't fair.
  36. There isn't anyone who will ever love me.
  37. No one will ever hire me.
You get the picture. All the above phrases have one thing in common; they are limiting beliefs. The above statements are creating havoc by telling our unconscious mind we are failures and not good enough. When we state negative things about ourselves, we are programming our unconscious mind with negativity.

The negative statements we make are like a magic wand for bringing us negative events and circumstances!

Our unconscious mind doesn't know the difference between fact and fiction and believes everything we tell it.

The circumstances in our lives provide us warning signs that we are headed in the wrong direction. If life seems too difficult, it is because we are making it that way. Yes, we all have challenges. Those challenges are meant to teach us so that we learn from doing things the hard way then create our lives in a different way: with ease and Grace.

Why Is It Important to Understand Belief?

Our beliefs are what govern our lives. If our unconscious mind believes something to be true, the Universe that lovingly supports us will bring us exactly what we believe and speak. We are speaking destruction into our world with our words, thoughts and then beliefs.

Easy For You To Say?

I have been creating positive events and even miracles in my life for years, ever since I recognized that my words created my life for me. I'll give you an example from just this past week.

Venice, California shopping
Brightstar offered a concert with an artist, Simrit Kaur I had never seen before. I had the opportunity to buy a ticket to the event for a premium seat, or a lower priced general admission. I asked my High Self, and Guides was it worth it to spend the extra money? The response I got back was, "No, we've got you covered." So, "Great," I thought.

I spent less money and didn't worry about my seat. Last night as I was leaving my home for the concert, I was delayed. I had at least an hour and a half drive with Los Angeles traffic and parking. I asked, "Will I be okay to arrive a little late?" The response was, "Yes, it's not going to be an issue." My gas tank was on empty which meant another stop.

At the last minute, I had to take my dogs with me because they balked at being left behind. Finding a parking place on a Friday night in a trendy part of LA was interesting. I had made a couple of passes before I found a car park a couple of blocks away from the church venue.
Venice, CA canals

Since my dogs were with me, I knew once I parked I had to walk them once I parked my car. Since I had to walk, the dogs meant I was even later than I imagined. I had faith that my spot was waiting for me. I was positive that I would have a good seat and affirmed with a question, "How can I have a great spot no matter how late I arrive?" I was told that I would sit at the very back, but have a perfect view, in fact, one of the best in the house. Weird, I thought, "But I'll take it!"

When I arrived at the venue in Venice, California, the entire place appeared full. On my way to the restroom, I glanced at the very back wall and saw two, possibly three openings on a long church pew. Two women sitting next to two spaces where printed advertising postcards seemed to be holding seats open for someone else. Rather than make an assumption that the seats were taken, which is what most people would do, I ASKED.

"Are those seats taken?" The women smiled up at me and said, "No, you are welcome to sit there." I left my Indian Pashmina on the seat and went to the restroom. When I returned, the women informed me that many people tried to take my seat, but they warded them off. "Thank you for defending my seat!" They suggested that I move the candles sitting on the ledge behind the pew as my hair might catch on fire. "Good idea!" I said and moved the candles to the top of the piano.

Once I got comfortable, I found that though I was at the back of the house, I was in perfect alignment with the featured singer. I was sitting in the open center aisle of the venue. Only one row of people sat in front of me. The two individuals in that row ahead of me were huddled so close together they didn't impede my view at all. I enjoyed the concert immensely in my perfect seat. It was indeed the best seat in the house.

I live my life knowing that I am always taken care of. JEM

I know that God and The Universe are always and in every way orchestrating my life for me.

I ask questions rather than making assumptions that things are a certain way. When I ask, I receive. I trust that The Universe always provides for me. I trust myself and my Guidance. I expect to be taken care of, and I am. What do you expect?

STOP

We have to stop making assumptions and statements that cause us to self-destruct. Closed-ended statements that speak of failure, ineptness, stupidity hurt, undeserving, unworthiness or any other negativity hurt us rather than help us. Stop galloping into destruction and begin creating with ease and Grace instead.

Real Life Advice:
Yesterday my twenty-year-old daughter called me in a panic. Her first year living on her own in an apartment is coming to an end and she needed to find a new place to live. Her first worried comment was, "Mom I have no credit!" I responded, "No credit is better than bad credit!" The next statement out of her mouth was, "This is going to be hard!"

It is all a matter of how we begin to look at our life. I reminded her she was completing an entire year living on her own and had a great history of rent payments. Her current apartment complex would give her a great rating.

I suggested she begin stating: "I easily and effortlessly find a great and safe place to live that I can afford!"

Speak Miracles Rather Than Problems

Our statements are like waving a magic wand. We create with our words and thoughts. Each of us has been created in God's image. Do you think that means we have no power? Of course not! We are powerful beyond measure. Most of us have not tapped into this incredible power as yet. What do you want to create for your life, Grace, and ease, or difficulties? The choice is always yours.
Questions Are Powerful

The Bible verse, Matthew 7:7 - 11: "Ask and it shall be given unto you. Knock and the door will be opened" speaks volumes. I recommend you do your due diligence and research the multitude of verses that explain that all we have to do is ask. The problem is

most people don't understand what it means to ask.

Our human mind thinks that there is only one way to achieve anything. While The Universe and The Higher Power has infinite ways to bring us what we desire. There is never just ONE WAY. We are infinite beings created with powers and potential most people do not recognize.

Ask

Instead of making statements that debilitate yourself and success, ask questions. Questions open doors for us.

Statements close doors and block opportunities. JEM

When we make a statement about ourselves whether it is positive or negative, the Universe brings it to us and proves us correct.

All it takes is some self-discipline to shift our thoughts from positive and self-destructive to beneficial. Think of how wonderful your life could be when you are creating consciously rather than asleep at the wheel.

My Latest Discovery About Trees: California Coastal Roadtip

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

I am in love! I have always loved the beach, but this weekend on an impromptu road trip, I found that the ocean is fabulous for rejuvenating, recharging and grounding, but nothing beats a forest for filling and feeding your soul.

On Saturday morning, I woke up with a whisper in my head, "Morrow Bay!" I weighed the value of visiting a new place versus going back to my old favorite, Hendrey's Beach in Santa Barbara. New won. I mapped the fastest route for us, almost four hours versus two-and-a-half. Still, the whisper of Morrow Bay continued to ring in my ears.

I loaded up a change of clothes and booked a motel 6 in Morrow Bay, California for my dogs and me. It was far from a budget weekend, being so close to the ocean, but the destination was a perfect balance between San Louis Obispo and San Simeon and the Hearst Castle. There was plenty to see and do.

The drive through the desert town of Bakersfield and the wine country was uneventful, monotonous even, so different than driving through Valencia, Fillmore and Santa Paula towards SantaBarbara. I drove by dead almond trees, thousands of which had been cut waiting to be ground up for mulch. Eventually, we arrived in Paso Robles wine country with hundreds, of acres of vineyards. I doubled back to stop at an avocado ranch for some huge fresh-piked Haas avocados.

We arrived in Morrow Bay after almost four hours of driving. We drove around the bay and headed for a quiet dog-friendly beach. The temperatures on the coast were thirty degrees lower than at home in the Mojave Desert; the cool breeze was welcome.

On our way northward to Hearst Castle, we stopped for pie in the quaint, artsy town of Cambria, at Linn's. The home of the famous olallieberry pie. It was tasty, not too sweet, but the crust was lacking the crispy texture that I prefer. I give their pie a 3 out of 5
because of the crust. Kohnen's Bakery in Tehachapi has the best pie I have ever had from California to Colorado.

We drove northward to the Hearst Castle, arriving right at closing time -  5:00 PM. I wasn't up for the entire tour and didn't want to leave my dogs in the car for two hours anyway.

Only four miles further north on PCH 1 was a viewing spot for elephant seals. Both dogs were quite intrigued by the huge mammals sunning themselves on the beach. One huge bull tossed flipper after flipper full of sand over his blubbery body.

Seeing these basking sea creatures in person is an incredible and exciting sight. We arrived shortly after 5:00 PM. The sun was beginning to set which meant we had gorgeous views of the coastline after our visit with the elephant seals. The timing couldn't have been more perfect if I had planned it, which I didn't.

After an afternoon at the beach, a bath and a coastline drive, the dogs and I were pooped. After watching the sunset magnificently, we packed it in around 8:00 and headed for our motel.

Sunday morning was a cool 56 degrees; I had to put on a pair of jeans. The light windbreaker I brought with me wasn't enough for the morning ocean air. We headed south about twenty-five minutes
arriving in San Louis Obispo after watching the sun rise over the mountains on our way down through the passes. On our way back to Morrow Bay we found ourselves at a virtually unknown campground Cerro Alto in San Louis Obispo County just twenty minutes from Morrow Bay.

Entering the floor of the canyon surrounded by mountains on either side, the tree canopy welcomed us. Early in the morning, quiet except for the chattering of Jays, nuthatches, and tapping of woodpeckers the birds were undisturbed by our presence flitting and chattering among the tall branches. A dark brown bunny darted into the thicket on the side of the road as we approached. I had never seen a rabbit so brown in the wild.

The sunlight streaming through the overhead canopy and heady fragrance of fresh earth, composted leaves, fresh greenery was soothing to my soul. Ferns, poison ivy, and wildflowers dotted the underbrush. Several trees were laden with Spanish moss that I hadn't seen since I left Georgia.

I had forgotten how much I loved being surrounded by trees. The beach takes second place to being surrounded by a rich green canopy of huge 50-foot trees. I didn't realize how much my soul missed trees. Living in the desert, I have to go to a park to be around trees; they are few and far between.

The blanket of green enveloping me lifted my spirits. Breathing in the quiet, unplugging from my cell phone, computer and clients was exactly what my soul needed. No one to talk to. No one's problems to hear. Just me and the forest. My love affair is with the earth, one that forever supports me in my health, fulfillment, and connection. The twisted tree limbs overhead were magnificent and powerful. I get high being in nature naturally

The undergrowth and poison ivy tinged with pink and red, berries on the ends of limbs laden with food for the birds to overwinter. A muffled snort in the gully below us surprised both dogs. Their ears pricked up, as they stood stock still. I listened again for the rustling of leaves of branches breaking. A large buck snorted again and walked slowly into the thicket.

Mountain lions frequent the high mountains but visit campgrounds on occasion. We have to stay alert walking in nature, as it is the home of so many wild creatures. Part of the excitement of being in nature is that you never know what you will see or hear. Being awake and alert focused on the moment deepens your experience.

I lay on a grassy hillside among golden stalks ready to drop their seeds for next year. The dark green leaves overhead in the clear blue sky created a beautiful contrast as the Jays chattered and flitted from one tree to the next. Four woodpeckers flew over me, and I closed my eyes breathing deeply. My lungs expanded in the cool fresh air. I felt so grateful.

I love the beach. Trees bring a fulfillment that the beach cannot. We need a balance of both, water and wood to feed our soul. On this weekend I had the magic of both, and I am so grateful for all that I experienced. I returned home ready to be fully present and compassionate for my clients because I took care of my soul.

Flashing Blue Lights and Papers Please!

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

It is no secret that I am not a fan of bureaucracy. I feel that there is enough double talk in the DMV to put them behind bars. The act of fingerprinting is unconstitutional.  Yet just try getting your license without a finger print. It won't happen in this lifetime. Going to the DMV and other government offices make me break into a sweat.

With two vehicles to insure and tag, after a move to California, it was not high on my priority list. As a matter of fact, I was so preoccupied getting my daughter into a charter school so she could graduate on time and getting my coaching and healing business up and running; my Colorado tag was the least of my concerns. That was until I got stopped at a red light for talking on my cell phone. The officer pulled me over and said, "You did know that talking on your cell phone was illegal, didn't you?" I was afraid to say, "No officer, I was ignorant of the law." Knowing full well that ignorance of the law is no excuse. I stared blankly at the officer while he informed me that my tag had expired. I truly had not even noticed. I had other fish to fry. I was grateful to be let go with a warning. That was back in January. My tag expired the previous October and I did not notice. I was in denial.

I had never driven with an expired tag before. I had heard that California was very rigid with smog testing. My neighbor let me know that after 6 months my car could be impounded for 30 days. Which could ring up charges of over $1,200 or more in one month's time. I had to make sure I was in stealth mode and protect my car every time I drove it. Every time I drove by a police car I prayed that they did not notice my expired tag and that the police office would be distracted by something. I was concerned my Honda might not pass the inspection. I was not sure I could afford the California insurance, tag and any additional mechanical work that might be required. I had two vehicles to tag, insure and license. Besides, I really did not want to let go of my Colorado tag. Crazy sounding as it was. I was partial to Colorado. We really left our hearts there. California was a means to an end. We knew I would grow my business in California.

I began to take the back roads to my daughter's school. Whenever I drove I put protection around my car. I asked the angels to make my car invisible to the police. We went into stealth mode daily. We drove for 8 months more without being stopped, ticketed or questioned. We were in stealth mode for 8 months.
There is no doubt that I am protected. God is there for me. My angels have to work overtime because I drive so much and tend to fall asleep at the wheel when I am tired. I have been pulled out of the grip of death more times than I care to count. The angels are always there for me. I ask Archangel Michael to be all around us whenever we go on a long road trip. Which is quite often. I am a bit of a gypsy seeing clients in other cities, I prefer to drive when I can. No moss grows under my feet. Just in 2013 we have traveled to San Francisco, Santa Barbara (5 times), Coronado (twice), Los Angeles (7 times), Santa Clarita (7 times) and back and made two 1800 mile round trips to Boulder from our home in the Mojave desert in California.

The really crazy thing, is that when I finally went to get my tag last week, after the three hour wait and additional trip to the library to get information about Honda's lien number and mailing address the thing I sweat over was no big deal!

What do I mean? I was concerned that the tag was going to cost me $600 or more with fines. I was under the impression that I would be required to get insurance in California - which I had checked out and was double that of Colorado. I thought it would not pass the smog inspection. I was afraid that the lien holder's number not being on the form would mean I could not get my tag. We were leaving for Colorado the next day. I was running out of time. I knew I would not get away with an expired Colorado tag IN COLORADO. I had to complete the process before we left, or we could not go. All of these issues could be explained away, but my underlying dread of government agencies prevailed. I knew it had to do with a past life. Past lives and energy clearings are a way of life for me. It is part of what I do for a living. 90% of most people's issues here on earth have to do with patterns and beliefs created in past lives. These past life patterns can create havoc in this lifetime if not cleared. Energy clearings are one of the most exciting things that I do. In one hour I have seen depressed and addicted people overcome addictions. I have seen and witnessed amazing illnesses cured. Aches and pains that people have had for years are cleared in one session. Yet here was I facing the DMV with trepidation. It was unfounded in this lifetime. I have never been arrested. Although my kids think I am a terrible driver (I don't but that is there opinion!) I have never had a big accident. Even when I used to drive my pick up truck in Georgia with the trailer attached weaving all over the road with lawn mowers and equipment sliding all over the place, I did not have an accident. Speed was what I used to do. However, since I have become enlightened, speed is not as important to me. I have begun to drive sedately, like I have all the time in the world!

The past life event was overshadowing the reality of life. It was creating fear where there was no reason to be afraid.

Carlsbad camping in May, 2013
The truth of the matter is this: the very things I worried about did not materialize. I was able to get the tag without insurance in California. I was able to get my smog certificate without any mechanical issues. I was able to get my tag without the lien holder's number - even though it clearly states and is required on the forms. Every thing that I was concerned about proved false. Even the amount of the tag was less than half of what I had thought it would be.

The definition of FEAR is "False expectations appearing real." I teach this. I live my life fearlessly. Yet, the old pattern of being shot for not having my papers in order from a past life continued to recur. Yes, I had a past life in Russia, as a man, where I went through a check point. I did not have my papers in order and was shot on the spot. This death and shock to my soul has remained with me to this day. Note to self: clear past life in Russia where you were shot for not having papers in order.......  really soon!
