How Can I Find Happiness?

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

We rarely ask ourselves questions. Yet, questioning ourselves is what helps us to understand why we feel the way we do. The following questions will give you insight into your deepest feelings so that you understand yourself better.

  1. What makes you happy?
  2. When are you happiest?
  3. Who are you with when you are happiest?
Sadness Is Not Depression

Sadness happens when we have to say good-bye to loved ones. Sadness happens when we lose a spouse, partner, child, parent or a pet.

Melancholy is a part of life. However, we don't have to reside in feelings of sadness. We need to allow these feelings to be felt fully so that we can move through them.

How To Increase Your Happiness Quotient Fast

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Happiness can be elusive. There was a time when I found it very difficult to feel an ounce of happiness because my focus was always on my problems.

Over time, I realized that my thoughts created the illusion I was living in that felt very real. Today, my life is vastly different due to my focus. It isn't that problems don't arise, I just look at those challenges very differently. One of the things I do to charge me up is to go to my happy place as often as I can.

Growing up in Toronto where summer was only about three months long, and far from the ocean I rarely got an opportunity to walk on a beach unless I bought a plane ticket and flew to an island somewhere. I have always loved to travel and have adventures. What I discovered about myself is that I need to move my body often and visit new places regularly. I filmed this short video yesterday I promise you it will give you a little joy and help you have a better day!

Even though I live 92 miles from the closest beach, distance doesn't stop me from getting there often. I usually visit the beach at least once a month no matter the time of year. In the summer months, I try to get to the beach once a week. I feel the investment in time and money *(gas), wear and tear on my vehicle is worth the inspiration and joy I receive from being on the beach. Yesterday I had a blast all by myself with my little dog Yoda walking three miles or more and swimming in the surf.

Where is your happy place?

How often do you visit your happy place?

Do you meditate? Why not?

What is your excuse for NOT being happy on a daily basis?

Do you feel you can't do this alone? That's okay, you don't have to. Why don't you schedule a FREE Get Acquainted Call with me if you are ready to commit time and dollars to your personal growth and happiness and see if my work is a good fit for you.

With Much Love,

Becoming Authentic

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Loved and happy untouched photo 7.2018

There was a time, I felt completely lost, uncomfortable in my own skin. I was afraid to allow others to see me as I was. I was afraid if I allowed anyone in close they wouldn't like me, never mind love me. I was sick a lot, in physical pain with Fibromyalgia, sinus infections and bladder infections. I was addicted to drama and had all kinds of financial issues. I was worried about what others thought of me and did everything in my power to make others happy.

Making decisions was a challenge, choosing for myself even more difficult and I often went to see psychics asking for their insight. I gave my power away to others and lived in constant fear.

What's different today? EVERYTHING! I live in a state of bliss, happiness, and contentment. My work brings me joy and fulfillment. I allow others to see me as I am, without being concerned about what they think or feel about me. Fear that once gripped me along with illness is completely GONE!

What did I do? I changed my thoughts. I stopped being negative and bashing myself. I began loving me with my words, thoughts, and actions. I focused on myself softly. The feeling of being lost is no longer. I never feel alone or lonely no matter where I am or how far away my friends and family are. I know who I am and I love myself completely. I look younger today than I did ten years ago.

Today, I help women and men feel better about who they are, allowing them to feel comfortable in their own skin, happy with who they truly are, drama free, positive and able to manifest with their thoughts easily. Visit my website or book an appointment with me.

How To Create Heaven On Earth Right Now

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Life is what we make it. We can wish ourselves towards our death hoping for something better, or choose to make the life we live fun, pleasurable and meaningful.

Our perspective is everything. Perspective is how we look at situations, life, and relationships. If we recognize we aren't victims, but co-creators on the road of life, everything shifts. We create with our thoughts, choices and what we focus on. In every situation, we have a choice. When we choose to focus on what's good, we create heaven on earth for ourselves.

We can choose to look at what's not happening OR: choose to view what is good. Remember that wherever we focus our attention grows and expands. Do you want the negative to become larger, or the positive? Of course, we want the positive to be our focus!

Enjoying the ride and adventure every single day!

Change happens when we shift our perspective. Heaven on earth is possible and it is what I live every day.

From the music we select, the work we do to the people we choose to spend our time with every day we choose how we want our life to be.

Following are small changes that help you shift your perspective. Begin with the suggestions you find the easiest first.

1. In every situation, there is a positive and negative. Focus on the positive rather than the negative. Whatever we focus on grows. If we choose to focus on what people aren't doing or how they are acting we get ourselves all bunched up, stressed and irritated.

2. Choose to focus on yourself rather than what others are doing. Don't expect to change others. Most people try their best to get others to do what they want, which is manipulation. I remember when I used to do things for my husband expecting thanks, love, or attention from him. It didn't work the way I wanted it to. Manipulation backfires on us, causing us to feel resentful and even angry. Instead, focus on being the best person you that you can be and allow others to be who they are, it is much simpler and far less exhausting. We can only change ourselves. Others will change when they choose to. When we shift everything shifts.

3. Choose gratitude. As soon as our eyes open saying a prayer of gratitude reminds us that life is a gift. Gratitude raises our vibration if we are feeling down or negative. Gratitude opens our heart when we say a meaningful, "Thank you!"

When we focus on the fact that life is a gift, each moment becomes precious rather than a pain. We never know when we won't wake up to live another day. "Thank you for this day of life!" Gratitude is the fastest way to shift our perspective as we focus on our good.

4. Choose to breathe deeply. Our breath is usually shallow until we begin to focus on it. Breathing deeply expands our lungs, grounds us in the present and also expands our joy. We can't experience great joy if we are holding our breath waiting for something negative to happen.

5. Choose silence. Give yourself the gift of 10-minutes of silence. Sit and breathe. When we choose to begin our day with silence we can make an intention for our day to go well. Silence helps us in many different ways. Even when we don't get enough sleep, spending ten minutes (more if you can) sitting upright smiling to our hearts and expecting our day to go well creates a better day with synchronicity, Grace, beauty, and flow. In each moment of every day, we are creating with our thoughts and emotions. Silence helps us to focus inward where our power is.

Silence allows us to turn inward. As we live life we journey with ourselves. Turning our focus inward is how we heal our past. Noticing how we feel in each given moment allows us to recognize and name what emotion we feel. When we turn towards sweets, cigarettes, alcohol or other self-medication, we stuff emotions or avoid feeling. Over time, we become numb and don't feel anything except sadness and depression. Silence allows us to feel emotions fully so that we can allow those feelings to flow through us rather than suppress them.

6. Choose how you want your day to go. Set an intention for your day. Living consciously means we are aware that we are co-creators. Nothing happens by chance. Rather than thinking life is shitty and nothing but bad happens then change your focus. Instead, turn your focus to the positive. What do you want your day to look like? Do you want your partner to smile at you and be loving? Envision what you desire. Do you want your co-workers to be supportive, encouraging and positive, then envision it. An intention is an image of what we want that creates positive change. We choose unconsciously when we don't create an intention. An intention is a positive thought with a focus of positive energy.

7. Choose to take responsibility rather than be a victim. Choose to stop blaming others. When we blame others we aren't taking responsibility for ourselves and our life. Blame is the single most damaging thing we can do for ourselves, our life and relationships. When blame is present in us, we are unconscious rather than co-creating life. Everyone has had trauma. I had oodles of it. Healing that trauma is what shifts our perspective. Attempting to heal it on your own could take as long as it took me, over thirty years. Hiring someone who has done it speeds up the process because they have been where you are and have a higher perspective of what is really going on. No one is a victim.

8. Choose to stop complaining. Complaints create more negative events and complications in our lives. Complaining makes us unhappy.

9. Choose questions, rather than making negative statements. When we have money problems, we tend to say negative things. Each statement we make is a prayer. Our words have more power than we think. Every thought we think is a prayer.

If your bank account is overdrawn, ask, "How can I have money flow in to cover this overdraft?" When we ask a question, the universe has no choice but to respond. When we make a statement the universe will make us right. If we say, "I have no money." The universe will give us evidence that we are correct - there is no money. A question makes the universe do what it is meant to do for us ORGANIZES OUR LIFE FOR OUR GREATER GOOD!
Statements you want to avoid saying:

I hate my life.
This is killing me.
I have no money.
Everyone is against me.
Everyone hates me.
No one likes me.
My life is shitty!
I am sick.
I am poor.
I am stupid. (or anything else negative) Self-hatred has no place in your happy world.

Like Florence Schovel Shinn said back in the thirties, in her famous book, The Game of Life and How To Play It, our word is our sword. We create our lives with what we think and speak. Do you want to speak wealth and love into your life? Or do you want to speak hate and poverty? We can cut people we love with our words or create a loving environment in which we live. Choose wisely.

Questions to ask instead:

How can I find work I love to do where people pay me for my skills?

How can I have the money I need?

How can I have more love in my life?

How can I _______________?

Jennifer and daughter Ariel about to turn 21
I have worked very hard to shift my perspective from negative, blaming and self-destructive. I am happy with me, but I wasn't always. I used to live in blame, self-pity, and illness.

I have healed my self-loathing, self-hatred and victim mentality. It isn't that my life was easy or trauma-free, it wasn't. Now I can help you shift your perspective so that you can be happy with your relationships, business and bank accounts are what you want, rather than what you don't want.

Do You Know What Brings You Happiness?

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Like the six blind men and the elephant, we can all look at the same thing with a very different perspective. We only see what we look at. Without focusing on a subject, we don't recognize it
or have an awareness. When we don't recognize it, how can we feel it? What we're doing today is turning your focus to what makes you the happiest?

Until someone asked me the question above, I had no idea what made me happy, because I never thought of it. Once asked I found the answer changed for me. A year or two ago, I would have answered my family is what brings me the greatest joy. Today I would say it is my work and service to others that charges me up and has me feeling passionate.

Think about each of the words below and rate them on a scale of 1 to 10. If you feel very positive and happy about the word, rate it a ten. If the word doesn't make you feel happy at all rate it a one. Circle all the words that have tens in green for positive or GO! Circle all the ones with black or red. Anything five or under can be yellow for caution. If you have something that works better to help you recognize which is positive and which is less than great.

Happiness is different for everyone. You might feel a community is what brings you joy and happiness. Others might find that solitude is what brings on the bliss. Being out in nature and witnessing wildlife might be what ignites your fire and brings you happiness. Meditation might be a ten for your mate, while you find exercise creates the greatest amount of happiness and bliss for you. There are no wrong answers.

If you don't include fun and play in your life currently, find ways to do so. Life is meant to be fun. What's stopping you? Life is short have a ball! Play reduces stress and raises serotonin levels in the brain. Serotonin is what keeps you from feeling depressed and anxious. Yes, play will help you reduce anxiety as well. Stress is the number one cause of illness and disease. So get playing!

I would love to hear what your answers were. Join the conversation on Facebook. When my son asked me this question years ago, I hadn't thought of how to create more happiness and joy on purpose before. Since that time, I have shifted my schedule so that my day incorporates the greatest amount of events that I enjoy and a few of the ones I enjoy less in smaller increments of time.

Examples Of LifeStyle Changes For Greater Happiness

Once we recognize the greatest source of joy for us, we also have the data to see what are our least favorite activities. Whenever possible delegate the things you don't enjoy doing. Hire someone to assist you with the housekeeping for example if you hate to clean, but love a clean house. If life brings you down, its time to hire me as your coach so that I can help to dovetail your life to find your joy, passion, and inspiration and clear the limiting beliefs and blocks to happiness.

If you hate commuting, but live two hours away from your office, see if you can work from home and telecommute several days a week. If you hate your job, focus on finding work you love to do so that you have fun working, then it doesn't even feel like work any longer.

The purpose of this exercise is to raise awareness of what it is in your life that gives you the greatest amount of joy. Follow the joy to raise your level of happiness. Do more things that bring you the number ten. If you aren't able to eliminate those activities that don't light you on fire, add some novelty and create unusual ways to exercise or commute with music or audible books to learn while you are on the road. Happiness is more about making choices to emphasize what you love and doing things in novel ways to keep you from falling asleep on the road of life.

What patterns do you have that you have lived with your entire life? What are you avoiding? What are you still afraid of?

With Gratitude for you!

Are You Avoiding Life?

As an observer of life, I watch men and women. I watch couples interact as well as single people. Recently, I have been astounded at the absence of mindfulness in the men I have encountered. Two men, let doors slam in my face as I entered the buildings after them. I talked to those men and this is what I found.

Both men were terribly distracted. When I brought their actions, gently to their attention, they were both very apologetic and told me that they didn't realize what they had done till afterward. One was going through a divorce and clearly had other things on his mind, he later asked me out on Facebook. I declined.

The second one was married. He made excuses. It was his cell phone, his computer, texting.... I asked him if he treated his wife with such disregard he said sheepishly, "No." I know this can't be true. I asked if they were still having sex? He looked surprised at my question. I told him if he was so absent-minded and disconnected during his day, he was most likely missing the boat with his sexual encounters as well.

As You Do One Thing Is How You Do Everything

If you are not present during your work day, you will not be present at home with your wife and family either.

If you are aggressive on the road and cut women off, rather than let them go ahead of you, you will also be aggressive in your relationship with women.

If you are shut down to the idea of sex and being intimate with your partner, you are also shut down emotionally for yourself and life. You will not be experiencing life to it's fullest potential.

Cluttered Home - Cluttered Mind - Cluttered Body

Is your home cluttered with collections, magazines, newspaper and mail? If so, you are an emotional hoarder. You have difficulty letting go of the past, you will continue to be angry about things when it is more than beyond the time you need to let it go and move on.

If your home is cluttered, your car is probably also. As you do one thing, is how you do everything.

A woman I have worked with complaints about her husband hanging on to magazines, books, and newspapers. Yet, she also has stacks of magazines, a slew of clutter on her bathroom counter top and oodles of unworn brand new clothes in her closet. The very things we criticize our partners for are our own issues as well. Look inside rather than pointing fingers at others.

If your home is cluttered, you most likely need to do a colon cleanse. Read my previous article about digestive hoarding. Digestive issues can kill you.

Get your digestive tract cleansed and let go of all that crap stuck inside of you. Emotional issues will also be released. A colon cleanse cleanses more than just the body, it also cleanses the mind, emotions and raises your energetic vibration. Think about it this way, all those meals you have eaten over the years with food additives and undigested foods are stuck in the colon, making absorption next to impossible. You are literally starving to death as we speak due to your body's inability to completely digest your food.

Holding Hands And Kissing

Are you affectionate with your partner? If not, why not? Most people that are not affectionate with their partners are also not kind and loving with themselves. The more kind and nurturing you are with you, the more in touch with your partner you will also be. You can't expect someone to want to have sex with you, if you don't express love to them or yourself.

Sex for women is an emotional experience, but it begins in the mind. We can't have sex with our men when you are being an ass, or have forgotten our birthday, anniversary or are just plain disconnected. Kiss your partner. Act like you care. Be present. Tell her or him how beautiful they are - often.

How To Be Present When You Are As Disconnected As A Lamp

I understand feeling disconnected. When I was first starting my healing path, I was absent-minded, fragmented, living in the past and the future and an emotional landmine. I reacted at the drop of a hat. I felt more than a little crazy. Considering what I went through in my childhood, none of that is outrageous. Be patient with yourself. Follow my steps for becoming present, mindful and connected to who you truly are, an amazing, loving, kind and gentle person. Loving kindness is the core of who you are. Breathe that in. Love is your soul essence. Consider giving yourself some compassion along the way, in turn we all become more compassionate with others when we are compassionate with ourselves.

  1. Breathe Deeply. The fastest way to get back into your body and get grounded is to breathe deeply. Most people are barely breathing. When you breathe shallowly, you are not affirming life. Affirm life. Breathe in slowly. Exhale slowly and completely. Feel the aliveness in your body when you do. There is nothing to be afraid of. This is you. Breathe in the love. Breathe in the present. Breathe in life.
  2. Silence. Sit is complete silence twice a day beginning with 10 minutes. You don't have to sit in the Lotus position, cross-legged. Sit up straight. Breathe. Turn your eyes upward towards the ceiling to shut down the mind chatter. Then close them. With your eyelids shut, turn your eyeballs upwards towards your hairline. This will keep your mind quiet. Shut off your television. Shut off your cell phone. "Oh my God! Shut off the cell phone, what if someone wants to reach me?" They will call back or leave a message. It is okay. Many people are afraid to be alone with themselves in quiet. I promise you, your life will improve when you begin to revel in the silence every day.
  3. Connect. Go outside, walk out in nature. Connect with the earth. Nature, plants, trees, birds will help you recognize your
own Divinity within. Walk barefoot. Touch or hug a tree. Ask the tree to take away your burdens. Then say thank you when it
does. Trees have a consciousness and will communicate with you. They love it when we talk to them. Sounds crazy? I certainly don't care what others think of me, you shouldn't either.
  4. Notice. Begin to notice what you are thinking, saying and feeling. Noticing is called raising your awareness. Do your best to stay positive, think positively. As with anything new, it takes practice to train your brain to be positive. When you do it
consistently, you will feel happier, life will be easier. We create with our thoughts. Make your world a better place by thinking lovingly about you and everyone around you.
  5. Feel Your Feelings Fully. Most of us try to run away from our feelings. We do this with exercise, work, sex, alcohol, drugs, spending and food. Running away from our feelings keeps us stuck in denial and trapped in the past. We have to feel our feelings fully, sitting with what we have coming up and allow the feelings to pass through us. Running away is avoidance of reality, life and what is. I know I did this for years. I was an expert at avoidance. You cannot be fully present for sex, love or any part of a relationship if you cannot be present with yourself and feel fully.
When we are disconnected from ourselves, we are also disconnected from our partners. Our conversations are shallow and meaningless. Sex takes on a cursory note - lifeless as if going through the motions. We don't show up for our kids fully present, we don't work to our best ability and we don't succeed in life when we are
not fully present.

Living life to the fullest means turning all the lights on, igniting our soul, living in our passion - fully alive in every breath. I want this for you. Living in a state of gratitude for what we have now allows us to appreciate life more, it is how I live my life.

Meaningful and Thriving

Life is more meaningful when you are fully present. Your conversations mean something to the people you connect with. Sexual encounters are amazing when you are fully present, connected to yourself and your partner in the moment. Your partner notices that you are fully present - there with them, fully, attentive, feeling everything actively, rather than thinking about what we want to say to make our point instead.

When we are not in our bodies, we are afraid of who we are. We are afraid of feeling our emotions fully. We shy away from deep connections and eye contact. We are not being true to ourselves or our partners when we are disconnected from ourselves. If you liked this article, please comment below, or share it with a friend. I appreciate you being here. 5 Ways To Get Unstuck and Out of A Crappy Mood

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Your motherboard crashes, your Internet goes down, you get into a fight with your partner or best friend and you wonder is it just you? When nothing is going right pushing another bad move isn't in your best interest. There are ways to get out of a funk or bad vibe.

If doing things your regular way isn't feeling right rather than continuing to do the same thing or make another decision that nets a loss here are some ways to handle and rid yourself of that funk, stagnant and shitty mess.

When Venus is in retrograde, till April 15th, you may feel unloved, or that you aren't getting the love you need. You may feel where you are spending your money isn't netting you the results you expected: NO LOVE! That is what Venus in retrograde does.

Here are 5 Ways to Get Unstuck

1. Play some music to get you moving and shift your mood. Here is a list of 100 happy summer songs to get you thinking. Huffington Post came up with a list of happy songs for the winter months. I have my own suggestions below.

2. Move. Get outside and exercise. Exercise will shift your energy, relieve stress, anger and frustration.

3. Dance. Come on get out of your chair. You know you want to. Dancing will make you feel so much better. Remember I love you!

4. Cook something healthy for yourself. Even baking can make you feel loved and taken care of. You don't need to have someone to take care of you, you need to self care.

5. Take a salt water bath. Epsom salts will take away the funk, relax your muscles and clear your energy.

You Get What You Give

Remember what you put out you get back. If you are not at your best, playing music and dancing will be sure to help aleviate the blues. If the New Radicals don't do it for you, maybe Hall and Oates One on One will, or Pharrell Williams, Happy.

Maybe listening to Hall and Oates will get you in the mood to really play some One on One! That will surely shift your funk! Or how about Friday I'm In Love by The Cure? For those of you who prefer R& B, I have some R. Kelly, Marvine Gaye, getting it on, to top off your playlist. By the time you listen to my final selection of Etta James, At Last, you should be dancing with your partner all the way upstairs! If you want more of these, here is a download of modern love songs to help you feel loved.

I Have Money Why AM I Not Happy?

Beyond Money, the root of all Happiness

My life has been one of huge contrasts. From wealth and extravagance to modest and simplistic.  Living a luxurious lifestyle with all the trappings on a private estate in England, I could not have been more miserable, lonely and unhappy.

By contrast, when I lived a more simplistic lifestyle, spending time meditating in nature daily, I found true happiness and joy. It was not the poverty that brought me happiness, but the joy I found inside myself. It is the smallest of events that bring me the most joy. This inner peace comes from self-love, acceptance and letting go of what does not serve you

Don't get me wrong, I love nice things. I love fine food, appreciate beautiful cars, furnishings, and clothing. Those material things do not light me up, ignite my fire or make me feel alive. Happiness is fleeting when it comes from things. A new car or brand new home might make you happy for a short while, but this happiness is fleeting. Lasting happiness comes from something unseen.
Grand Canyon, Arizona, 2013

I have had money, lost it and had money again. Living the simplest of lifestyles, focusing on myself rather than someone else, personal growth, spirituality and internal happiness have brought me the greatest joy and bliss in my life. Guiding others to come into loving acceptance of themselves is what lights me on fire! It does not matter any more where I live, what type of housing I live in or what material things I have. I am happy. I am completely happy alone and no longer have feelings longing, emptiness or loneliness.
Mojave desert, California at sunset, my home

I used to think a relationship would make me happy. A relationship actually brought me more pain and suffering, until I fell in love with myself. Our partners trigger us and bring up our unresolved issues. They provide us the mirror to our soul. We project our issues onto the other person. We often blame our wife, husband or partner for making us feel badly. Yet it is our own past trauma that hasn't been cleared.

When you don't love and accept yourself, you attract someone else who is doesn't love and accept themselves. We have to take responsibility for our own happiness instead of expecting our relationship or partner to do it for us. No one can make you happy, but you. Until you are happy with you, I hate to tell you, but you won't be permanently happy with anyone, or anything. You will be left longing and wanting and won't know what you are longing for.

I tried therapy, a psychiatrist and burying it. None of those things helped. Avoidance may mask your issues for a while, but eventually your body will become sick from holding onto all the emotional baggage, resentment and unforgiveness. Cancer is what usually grabs people's attention, but by then most people don't have the energy to do the soul searching and healing required to heal their disease. Resentment and anger cause cancer, rheumatoid arthritis, Fibromyalgia and Epstein Barr disease. Self love heals them all. Until the emotional and mental aspects of cancer are healed within the body, traditional chemotherapy and surgery will only be a temporary band aid, not a cure. Healing the past is the only way.

Begin loving yourself today:

  1. Let go of condemnation of yourself & others.
  2. Stop being critical of yourself and others.
  3. Live in the present. Let go of the past.
  4. Be grateful for what you have. Every day.
  5. Forgive yourself and everyone else.
  6. Let go of perfectionism. it is kinder to you.
  7. Let go of control It is fear based.
  8. Focus on you.
  9. Don't blame others.
  10. Take responsibility for your feelings.
  11. Be aware, watch what you say and think.
  12. Allow yourself to feel your emotions fully, crying cleans out the old and makes you feel better.
  13. Meditate daily.
  14. Use positive affirmations.
  15. Be positive.
  16. Don't complain, no one wants to hear it anyway. It just makes you feel bad.
  17. Love what you are doing, do what you love!
  18. Learn to laugh at yourself, you might be surprised how much fun you are.
  19. Get moving. Exercise makes you feel good.
  20. Get outdoors and breathe deeply.
  21. Sing, dance, and play. Life is supposed to be fun
  22. Listen to your heart instead of your mind.
  23. Give yourself space to heal. Nurture you.
  24. Keep your thoughts loving.
  25. Keep yourself filled up with love from within. When we come to the party already full we aren't needy, grasping or controlling.

Opening your heart and letting go of control, perfectionism, condemnation, and criticism will release a lot of negativity for you. Returning thoughts to loving thoughts, and staying positive is key. Use a simple mantra when you begin to think or say negative things. My favorite is, "I LOVE ME!" It is simple and reminds us that we already have all we need inside, we just need to remember.

Praise For Jennifer

In March 2012, I began coaching with Jennifer. I got my heart broken repeatedly and I didn’t know why. After several clearings, I discovered that I had past life issues that needed to be cleared to attract the love I wanted and knew I deserved. Jennifer helped me to set goals and helped me realize my thoughts were focused in areas that did not support me. I found myself through Jennifer’s coaching. I became this strong woman that was buried deep inside me. I have found my confidence and inner power through my work with Jennifer. I knew what I wanted and Jennifer helped me to discover that I deserved it. After 3 months with Jennifer, I called her to say HE had arrived!

He was someone I had always known, but never noticed before. We started to really connect. It was like magic. It literally happened overnight. He is everything I have been dreaming of and I know this man is here for me forever. He is so into me and says all the things to me that I had prayed for.I am a much stronger woman and have learned so many great tools from Jennifer that I will continue to use every day. I’m confident, strong, happy, peaceful and healed (finally). Thank you, Jennifer will continue to do clearings with you when things in life come up. Blessings Cindy M., Knightsen, CA

The Emotional Reasons You Need To Dump That Storage Unit

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Many people fill the holes they feel inside with stuff. Whether it is collections, clothing, cars, televisions or furniture too much stuff weighs us down and creates a heavy burden which makes us very unhappy.

Part of being happy is letting go of all the laden collections, multiple televisions, couches, armoires and family heirlooms.

Our stuff doesn't make us happier, in fact, too much stuff makes us very unhappy. JEM

Storage units are rented by one out of every eleven US households an increase according to a recent survey of 75 percent since 1995. There are 1.875 billion square feet of storage space in America with nearly 40,000 facilities.

When I moved from Georgia to Boulder, Colorado, I sold everything and stored very little. After over two years of paying for two storage units, one in Georgia and one in California I dumped both when I realized I didn't want any of it. In fact, the storage unit in California that cost me over $1,000 housed only cardboard boxes and a few tools.

Shopping addiction to fill the void
The caveat here is that I have lost everything to mold or given everything away three times. I used to have a tremendous amount of stuff. I was a shopaholic replacing one addiction with another. My closets were stuffed to the gills with clothes I hadn't worn, some with tags still on. I had hundreds of books and collections
from my travels and living abroad. Now I live simply and am so much happier as a result. I had clutter everywhere, especially papers. Now my home is tidy, organized and simple.

When We Hoard

Hoarding
Earlier in 2016, I had a woman call me from Georgia for landscaping. Though I don't have For Heaven Scapes, Ltd any longer, she ended up talking to me for a while once she heard what I am doing now. She told me she could use some help becoming happier.

As we talked about her propensity to create crafts and hang onto them, rather than sell them, I asked her if she had a difficult time letting go of emotions. At first, she didn't understand me. I explained when we get upset about something but can't let go we are an emotional hoarder. She said, "Yes, I guess that is me."

She paid for a session because she had so much stuff her husband didn't want to buy another home till she got rid of all her crafty stuff. She was attempting to fill the hole in her heart she felt with her crafts. She had lost herself and didn't know what she wanted. She had so much she had a pod in the driveway as well as the largest storage unit she could have.

When Things Are More Important Than People

Sometimes it is easier to have relationships with things rather than people. Things don't yell, complain or criticize. If we grew up in a household where we didn't feel loved, we may be attempting to fill that void inside us that is longing to be loved with our stuff. When we don't love ourselves unconditionally, others won't either. It may be challenging to let go of our things because we feel a sense of loss when we do.

Things Are Just Things

Loving ourselves unconditionally means loving all of us - even the shadowy parts that aren't the best parts of ourselves. We all have them. Imagine if you lost everything like I did to mold, or fire. What if you lost the ones you love? Putting too much importance on things means your life is out of balance.

Ask Yourself These Questions To Assist With Give-Away and DeCluttering

  • Have I worn or used this in the past year?
  • Does this item make me feel good (happy) or sad?
  • Is this item something that I want because I love it or do I feel a need to keep it due to guilt or some other negative emotion?
  • Am I hanging onto this only because I know how much it cost rather than because I love it or use it daily?
  • Do I really need ____ (five) of this item?
This following list that will help you keep life and your stuff in perspective they are more important than material things and will help you fill the void you feel inside.
  1. Self-improvement. Learning is something we need to do daily. Even if you have multiple degrees learning is something we need to do to stay thriving and positive. Learning is exciting and uplifting. Expanding ourselves is what we are here to do.
  2. Self-love and acceptance. Loving the self is key to happiness and great relationships. Without self-love we are needy, looking for someone else to fill us up. We might even rely on our things to make us happy - but things can't hug us back, or touch our soul. Being Beautiful And Happy With You.
  3. Family bonds. Love is what makes the world go around. Forgive everyone and love everyone.
  4. Friendship. Life is more fun with friends. Having someone to talk to can lift our spirits and help us stay positive. Choose friends who are positive rather than negative.
  5. Daily meditation. Meditation helps you stay grounded and recognize what is important. Having a practice of stillness and listening to the inner voice will help you stay balanced.
  6. Healthy diet. Eating fresh fruits and vegetables with protein is an important part of feeling good. If we don't eat a healthy diet we aren't thriving. Fast food causes depression.
  7. Regular exercise. Exercise has been scientifically proven to ward off depression. Whether it is Zumba, yoga or a daily walk daily exercise is best, three times a week average will make you happier. Once a week isn't going to provide you what a daily walk will do. Go to a mall and put blinders on so you don't stop and shop. Walk around the mall when the weather is bad - till springtime.
  8. Philanthropy. Giving back is a tremendous source of joy and happiness. Helping others in some way could be as simple as volunteering at a local animal shelter, giving pet food to a shelter or money, teaching English to those who can't speak it. Envision what our world would be like if everyone was able to help each other out.
  9. Time Management. Being able to balance work, social activities, exercise and sleep is a large part of having a life you enjoy. When you have enough time for everything important you can create time for hobbies, organizing and decluttering. The more orderly your home is, the more enjoyable it will be to spend time at home. Getting to bed early will help you sleep well. When you are well-rested you will feel better and be less likely to be depressed.
  10. Love. Having a healthy balanced and loving relationship will certainly help you to be happier and more fulfilled. Finding the best person for you certainly, could take some effort. Knowing yourself well and your core values will help. Knowing what you want in a relationship or partner is something that I can help you with in my From Tainted To True Love course which begins on February 1st. A relationship requires work, compromise on both sides. When we have a loving relationship we become bigger, stronger with their loving words and support.
