The Spirituality of Money

“For what shall it profit a man,  if he shall gain the whole world,  and lose his own soul?”          – Jesus of Nazareth

Everything is energy. We are energy. Money is energy. We work at our profession and are paid for what we do. We have bills to pay in exchange for what we receive. The exchange that we currently have in place is money. Where humans run into issues is when they feel they never have enough. 

Money isn't bad or evil. Money is just an exchange that allows us to get things we want to make our lives better like food, shelter, a vehicle, and services. It is our attachment to money that causes us issues. 

The Law of Impermanence

For most, we notice the ebb and flow of money. Money flows in as we receive and then out as we pay our mortgage, rent, utilities and buy food or clothing. The impermanence is obvious. 

How We Stop The Flow

There are many ways we stop the flow of money. We worry about not having enough, which causes the flow to be blocked. Fear blocks us. We can't manifest when we are in fear. Following are the different ways we stop our flow:

1. We waste money on things we don't need.
2. We become greedy.
3. We aren't good stewards with our money.
4. We don't respect money.
5. We buy too much: groceries, hair products, facial creams, televisions, movies, books, clothing. Food spoils in the refridgerator. Hair products sit unused or get thrown out. We don't read the books. Clothing sits in our closets with tags still on them unworn and unloved.
6. We focus on our problems with money, which increases the problems.
7. We worry about money.
8. We feel that there is never enough.
9. We are stingy with our money and don't give to others.

Problems With Money

When we are good stewards of our money, we find the flow increases. When we waste or disrespect money, we may find the flow is restricted, until we learn how to work with the energy of money.

Limiting Beliefs

Our family of origin sets us up for wealth or poverty. If your family was poor and money was scarce, chances are you have similar issues with money. The messages we were programmed with as children become our beliefs in adulthood. 

When we believe we aren't worthy we stop or restrict the flow. Our belief that there is never enough causes us to never have enough. When we believe that money is dirty, the root of all evil or unspiritual will cause us to suffer due to our lack of money.

The Truth About Money

The Universe is abundant. There is no lack in The Universe, only our perception of it. We can tap into the abundance when we are in balance with our Spiritual side, recognizing that we receive as we give. The more generous we are, the more money flows to us. The more generous you are with your gifts and talents, the more money will flow to you.

There is no competition in The Universe. Therefore, we are not in competition with anyone else. The more we can work together with others, the more money will flow to you.

The more heartfelt GRATITUDE you express, the more you will have. When we don't recognize all that we have, it is very difficult for us to get more of what we want.

The Universe does not like any waste. If you waste money, there are repercussions. When you live simply in balance with the Spiritual focusing on the work you do, rather than making money you will find yourself in the flow. 

My Personal Experience 

I have had lots of money in the past. When I did, I had oodles of clothing, shoes, purses that matched two BMWs, a huge home filled with Waterford crystal, two sets of English bone china, a twelve-piece place setting of silver complete with fish service a houseful of gorgeous furniture. I lived extravagantly. I was miserable. I felt lost, lonely and unhappy. I wasn't in balance with my Spiritual side. I didn't love myself. I wasn't generous. I wrote about this experience in my first book, Odyssey Victim To Victory. 

Fast Forward to present day:

I have learned to live simply. My focus is on the spiritual. I am in balance and harmony with all that is. I am generous with my time, gifts and talents. I give back to The Universe by helping others. I tip well. I stopped wasting food, clothing, water and time. I love myself. I love life. I have given a home to four stray cats and two stray dogs. I stop to smell the roses, notice the beauty that surrounds me. I am grateful for everything I have, receive and give. My focus isn't on the money anymore, it is on the work I do. 

I bought three plane tickets to travel to Atlanta to see clients and assist my son, Adam with his Love Fest next weekend. I paid for a rental car. I bought another ticket to Colorado for my daughter's graduation. My aunt in Canada is turning 90 in June, I weighed my options and decided that visiting my aunt and aging mother was beneficial so I bought a ticket to Toronto and paid for my passport renewal and expediting. In all I spent about two thousand dollars in less than a month. I had enough left to pay my rent. After leaving the Consulate of Canada on Friday and walking down 7th Street in Los Angeles, I said,

"Please fill my bank accounts back up as they are empty!" Within minutes, I had a text from a client in Colorado telling me she was sending me a check for $1,500! I immediately said, "THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!"

FYI

I had just dropped a couple of bills into a musician's case generously while getting the cash for my passport. Even though I didn't have much left at the time, I gave to someone else in need. Are you looking to co-create miracles? Read this.

Do You Feel There Is Never Enough?

In the more than thirty years of discovery and healing, I have discovered a disconnect that most of people have. Most people have lack consciousness. Lack is a sense that there isn't enough money or love. Most people go through life feeling that if their spouse did more they would be happier. If they loved us differently or had sex with us more often we would feel happy in our relationships. 

From Tainted To True Love

This lack of love from our relationships translates into our financial issues as well. When we have money issues, we also have issues with love. Why? When money is in short supply, it is because we feel unloved. To have an abundant supply of money we have to feel loved. When we feel loved we feel full, rather than a sense of lack or emptiness.  Money is a tool for bringing us wonderful things. Money is an energy just like love, in fact, the energy of money and love are equal. If you feel empty, lost or unloved, money issues will result.

The problem is not outside or you, it's INSIDE!

Our lack consciousness comes from feeling we aren't enough and not feeling loved. 

Bottom line, this pattern of lack comes from within. Somewhere in your past (and mine) we felt abandoned. We felt we didn't get the love we either deserved or should have. We often feel undeserving or unlovable. 

If you feel wrong broken or as if something is missing, you don't feel comfortable in your own skin, don't feel you belong or feel lost; these are all from beliefs and patterns stuck inside your unconscious mind.

During the clearing I was wound a little tighter than normal and then the shift happened…

Thursday morning I noticed the regular homeless man outside the gym and realized I had forgotten to drop my husbands clothing off at Goodwill. I pulled to the man and asked if he wanted to browse and take what he needed and wanted and he happily took much of it. I spoke with him for a while and noticed he needed new shoes- asked his size and sent a text to some friends with tall husbands who may have large enough feet. I left that conversation feeling adrenaline the type you feel after you had almost been in a car wreck. Happy – true happy energy – flowing through my whole body and I squealed out loud with joy and excitement!!!

All last week I was Giddy and playful and wasn’t stressing over employee drama at the salon.

I pulled the trigger on a huge billboard for my salon and was lucky enough for one of my talented clients to happily help me with it when I asked.

My Salon Media Kit was completed and will be personally sent out to 50+ contacts and I feel like I am giving birth to a whole new baby;)

Electrician had to come do unexpected work worth of $900 at the salon and then they told me it was only going to be $360!!!!

Was put in touch with the politician in charge of bringing the film industry to Atlanta and he immediately set up a face to face meeting at my salon to talk about how he can put me in contact with the right people to help!!  Huge!!!

Someone stopped a client at the gas station across from the salon to find out who gave her her haircut then came in the salon to book an appointment.

I had a gift for my salon manager and gave it to her and let her know how much I appreciate and enjoy her!!  Timing was everything!!

Merging traffic  had also been great and I have been more patient and appreciative towards my husband-now to work on the sex part;)!!

I have read a vast number of books over the years. The one that assisted me with changing my thoughts more than any other was one written in 1925. The Game of Life and How To Play It, is an easy read and one that Norman Vincent Peale praised.

While writing my book about human sexuality and the guide for creating Blissful Sex, I have recently located some affirmations that I would like to offer you from Florence's book.

GRATITUDE - It's Not Just For Thanksgiving Anymore!

Gratitude Unlocks Your Infinite Potential

 

It does not matter what you are grateful for, expressing gratitude will end your suffering, bring you into alignment with all that is and fill your soul with love. What could be better?

 

When we are in a state of gratitude we are able to manifest because we are aligned  with The Divine energy, all that is. We are greater than ourselves when we are expressing gratitude. We open ourselves up to vulnerability. Our hearts open when we are grateful. When our hearts are open synchronistic events unfold. We witness the beauty that surrounds us. (Read to the end I have two you tube links to videos that will fill your soul and help you feel it).

 

Whether you feel you have something or nothing to be grateful, begin expressing gratitude for the smallest of things and watch what unfolds. The more grateful we are for what we have the more we open to our unlimited potential. Recognize what blessings you have in your life. Even if you are sick and feel you have nothing, you are alive. Whether we are homeless or living with friends, we have a roof over our heads. We have food on our table. We have friends, loved ones. Be grateful for another day of life.  

Whether you are in pain and suffering, be grateful for the experience and see how your suffering diminishes. Here is my prayer for you today:

 

Thank you for the amazing Blessings in my life today. 

Thank you for my eyes that see and my ears that hear. 

Thank you for my hands that serve and give to others even when I have so little myself. 

Thank you for my children, my mother and father and my friends.

 Thank you for the sun that shines that warms me. 

Thank you for the gift of my life. 

That I am alive to live and experience another day. 

Thank you for my health and my heart that beats. 

Thank you for the lessons that I have learned, however small they have been. 

Thank you for those who have come into my life to teach me something. 

Thank you for those who are less fortunate than me, that I may see others have even less than I do. 

Thank you for the success in my life, the joy that is expressed in others.

Is Secondary Gain Keeping You Stuck?

Secondary Gain is a term known in psychology and the personal development field as the benefit that people get from NOT overcoming their problems. It is not known at a conscious level. The loss of holding onto a condition is far greater than the perceived gain. There is an emotional pay-off by staying where you are.

Secondary Gain keeps you stuck where you are.

Typically the word "gain" is a positive term. In this case it is negative. Secondary gain could be causing all kinds of problems in one's life. From weight gain, depression, to financial issues or relationship woes these issues never get cleared up or go away until the secondary gain issue is resolved. 

Survival

The bottom line is survival. The ego mind forms relations with what is familiar. This 'familiar' is then considered safe to the mind. Even when the situation is considered familiar does not mean it is healthy or functional.

 

These patterns can remain for an entire lifetime even when they are dangerous, unhealthy or dysfunctional. Once these associations are formed and are no longer protecting the person, they remain in tact.  

What I have found with the people I have worked with that even after visualizing, affirming, treatments and manifesting that the wealth does not show up. Their situation can even become worse. Sometimes this has to do with an unconscious belief about what complications may arise from being wealthy.

 

Fear of responsibility can arise from beliefs about what will occur when the manifestation does show up. This fear can keep you stuck.  It is almost always unconscious.

Loss of love from family members and partners should you change, is another unconscious reason for a manifestation not materializing.

When we begin to break through old patterns we feel intensely uncomfortable. This threshold of discomfort then keeps us stuck from breaking free of a negative situation. Even leaving a relationship that is abusive can feel strange and uncomfortable, keeping people stuck in dangerous or debilitating patterns. This is often why women leave a relationship and then return a short while later, when no behavior has changed.

 

How do we determine if we have it?

If you have done everything right; all the positive affirmations and visualizations and your good still has not shown up? You probably have an issue with secondary gain. You may even have more than one.

Why is it that we have so much trouble breaking through the glass ceiling of success? Many get close but only 1% of the population ever achieve extreme wealth. WHY? Because 90% of what our unconscious mind believes to be true isn't.  

 

How can you break through this ceiling?

Journaling, meditating and going within can help you uncover what the issue is. Do all the things you would normally do to heal a conscious issue. Being a super sleuth for your own issues can help. You may want to have this issue cleared either through hypnotherapy or energetically.
