Vince Vaughn's Mother Interviews Jennifer Masters on WBTVN

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Everyone has a story. In this interview, I tell a little of my story to explain how I went from being depressed, anxious, miserable and unhappy with challenges in all my relationships to be happy with me and loving my life.

When our parents have challenges in their marriage they model what love is for us. When we aren't loved, aren't heard, abused or the victim of childhood abuse we tend to recreate these patterns in our adult relationships. We are triggered by others because we have programs and reactivity from past traumatic events. Until we recognize and clear our patterns, come to a place of loving acceptance of ourselves as we are we can't have a healthy balanced and happy life or relationship.

Happy Here, Happy Anywhere

God is an integral part of my life and world. I used my guidance to heal myself and now turn my gifts over to others.  God guides me using nature to give me signs and messages in my outer world. A huge part of my joy comes from my deep connection to The Divine within and outside of me and in my world.

We Have A Groovy Kind of Love

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Relationships are what we make them. The happier we are with ourselves and more in love with life, our world and who we are, the better our relationships become. Saying yes, rather than no makes you infinitely more approachable opening you to the infinite possibilities of the beautiful universe.

I am an expert at relationships because I have had all kinds of them. I know what works and what doesn't. I counsel and guide both women and men of all ages on happiness which is the foundation for a balanced relationship. Sometimes we get stuck and need someone to untangle our upsets and help us get back on track, which is what I help couples and singles do. We get triggered by our partners, friends and family and may blame the person who pressed on our sensitive button from past events.

Once we are happy with ourselves everything including our relationships improve. Our biggest problem is feeling that others owe us something or having expectations of others that are too high.

How To Release Your Partner From Bondage

We expect someone else to make us happy. Let go of waiting for happiness to come from outside of you. It doesn't. Leaving one relationship and jumping into another won't do it if you aren't first happy and in love with yourself first. If you don't love yourself first, how can anyone else love you?

Shift Your Perspective

 1. Do life differently. Loving life means having some adventures along the way.Take a different route to work. Invite a friend to join you for lunch and let them know how much they mean to you. Love comes in all different colors, sizes, and shapes. Friendships, family members, and pets all bring love into our lives.

Cook naked! Eat dinner on your patio or take a walk somewhere you've always wanted to go. Make life a joy by changing up your old familiar patterns by feeding your partner juicy fruit in bed. Enjoy each moment, we never know how many we have left.

2. Have some fun. Doing the same thing, in the same way, every day leads to boredom, rather than a love of life. Incorporate fun,
and happiness into your day. Plan to meet with friends in person, rather than by text. Seeing others face-to-face so you can hug them, see their response and touch them is infinitely more fun that talking or texting. Play board games, rather than being bored with life. Make life a game!

3. Enjoy nature every day. Our earth is full of surprises and joy. We need to get outside to witness the beautiful and the magical daily. Trees and plants have a consciousness and will return love to you. Try it, hug a tree, tell it you love it and feel what comes back to you.

Love is groovy when you make life more interesting and fun. Change up your routine and enjoy the love of your life, even if you are the one on the receiving end!

When Everything Falls Apart, There is Good News Coming

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Life today is simple, easy, doing work I love. I am ecstatically happy every day. You would never know looking at me that seventeen years ago my life was crumbling in every direction. I was like the moth to the flame.

When things fall apart, there is a reason. You have chosen situations that weren't in your highest good and the universe, and you have set about changing your life for the better. It just doesn't look like there is anything good happening right now. When change is coming, there is nothing you can do to stop it. You might feel that chaos is your only friend.

Following is the shortened version: part of my first book Odyssey Victim To Victory. What began to happen in my life was the momentous change in every way.

My father died twenty-seven years ago, on September 22, 1989. My father was a larger than life character, a skeptic, freethinker, man's man who introduced me to Metaphysics. He taught me to believe only what I knew to be true, rather than what people wrote or said. My father had been abused by his father, ran away from home at seven on a freight train from Toronto to Vancouver, British Columbia. He repeated his adventure again at age twelve. A beating awaited him upon both returns. Why would someone do something so great at such an early age? His home life had to be so horrible that anything was better than staying there.

I met Rich weeks after my father's death. What I didn't recognize at the time was that the familiarity I felt being with him was his deep rage, like my father's. Even though I saw his dark, abusive side, I married him anyway. I married the bad boy. I ignored the red flags. He felt like home to me. His anger was so familiar; I felt like I was walking on egg shells the entire time we were married and long afterward.

I owned my home which was half paid off. Rich didn't like the fact that it was my home. He wanted to build "his house." It wasn't "our home," but HIS. His ego got in the way of recognizing I had a home we could easily afford. He pushed, prodded and
coerced me to use the equity in my home to live on and finance his building company. My fear of him was my motivator. My confidence and freedom were eradicated in this marriage. I felt imprisoned with no way of escaping. I had just given birth to Ariel I was forty-one.

For those of you who have never experienced abuse, some of this will seem preposterous, impossible to believe. Emotional and physical abuse eradicates confidence. When there is a threat of violence, there is emotional abuse. It makes us feel dependent on our abuser for everything with no hope, no will, hopeless. Fear is an all pervasive energy that surrounds you even while you sleep. The fear that they might murder you and your children while you sleep is real.

Like Attracts Like
(The caveat here is that Rich's brother an ex-marine had committed a pre-meditated murder of his brother-in-law while Rich and I were together. He stabbed him thirty-five times. Rich's father beat his mother, punching her in the face breaking her dentures in three. His family history was one of violence, greater than mine, but similar in energy.) My fear of anger and violence was the perfect match for Rich's DNA of rage.

Huge beautiful home didn't bring happiness
Without giving all the details, Rich built a huge home - "his house" that we couldn't afford. He had four houses go back to the bank when the market crashed, and the economy tanked. We lost our home. Both my sons ended up living with their father; it nearly killed me. My family is the most important part of my life, losing both my sons even temporarily was devastating to my health and happiness.

The light was dawning in my mind, I wondered how I could escape with my life and safety of my daughter.

I sold all my beautiful things so that we would have money to live on, Rich sold none of his tools. While we were losing our home two of my beloved dogs were hit by one car. My oldest Siamese kitty's health failed and her son and another dog had to be put to sleep within six months of our foreclosure. I knew all my animal's deaths were trying to tell me something. Messages were everywhere. I needed to get out too, but how?

I had started a landscaping company before we lost our beautiful home. I had begun to make enough to support myself without Rich's help. When his control of my phone calls, friends and family became too great, I finally got the courage to tell him he needed to leave.

The Universe sends help when we make a positive move for change. I gave him two weeks to move out. It just so happened that my sister-in-law's brother, Alan had met a woman on the Internet and had flown to Georgia from England to be with her. When he
Right before our split
arrived from England, he found that she had misrepresented herself and was still married! He was heart-broken. He spent all his hard-earned money to fly over from The UK, only to find out she had lied! I recognized immediately that Alan was in Georgia for the first time for my protection and to ensure Rich left without hurting or harming anyone.

When we talked, I explained what was happening with me and he quickly agreed to stay with me until Rich moved out. Alan was part of my family and had known me since I was fourteen.

My world was falling apart on all levels. I was in fear for my life while I slept. I hid Rich's guns until I could get him out of my house. We moved to a farmhouse, in the Georgia countryside with a barn to store my tools. I found this beautiful place in a very strange way. I loved the house and the land and wanted to stay. This property was perfect for my daughter and I. It felt wrong for Rich to be there. I knew Rich had to go.

Why Things Happen The Way They Do

Our DNA has a great power over us, as does our karma. We attract what our parents model for us. Mine had modeled abuse, anger, and negativity. I was afraid of men. I was a magnet for a man who raged, yelled and became big and scary when he was angry. Rich was jealous, controlling and a macho man, like my father in many ways, except that he didn't drink. The biggest similarity was his rage. I was attracted to that part of him that was so similar in energy to my father, unconsciously.

What Feels Like Home Might Not Be The Best For You!

I was attracted to what felt familiar. When I wrote down a list of what experiences I had in my home they were the following:

HOME

  • criticized, ignored, not heard
  • put down, teased, made fun of
  • invalidated
  • yelled at
  • abused and controlled
  • put in harm's way
  • unprotected

LOVE?

  • criticized, ignored, not heard
  • put down, teased, made fun of
  • invalidated
  • yelled at
  • jealousy
  • abused and controlled
  • put in harm's way
  • unprotected

I was like a moth to a flame!

I kept repeating the same old patterns until my outside circumstances became so in-my-face, that I could no longer ignore them. Each relationship I had was worse than the one before. I was so afraid of this man I didn't want to have sex with him. After Rich had moved out, I was able to get quiet, meditate and go within. Finally, I began to wake up. I knew I didn't want to be abused any longer. I knew that my victim energy from my childhood sexual abuse was still present even though I had forgiven all my perpetrators. I had to clear the emotions.

I sat down and meditated. In this meditation, I was directed to create a relationship matrix. This matrix is what I use to guide my clients today.

Using this matrix, I realized that in all my relationships there were similarities. The Guidance I received asked me what the similarities are? What is the common denominator?

Wake Up And Smell The Coffee!

My big aha moment came after I saw that I was the only common denominator in all my relationships. I had to stop blaming others and look at how I attracted these men to me. I had to look at my reactivity from my childhood and clear the triggers. I had to change my behavior.

What's The Use?

What is the point of all of this? Today, I help women love themselves above all else, fearlessly so that they attract positive, balanced, healthy relationships. I work with couples and single women to change their patterns and behavior so that they don't continue to react, deny and push away love. All that happened in the past has removed judgment of others giving me great compassion for where people are. Having been there myself, I can't judge another.

Until we heal our DNA and our unconscious programming we attract unconsciously. We are like the moth to the flame. We attract what is not the best for us. We attract the dysfunction from our family of origin or past molestation. We move toward what feels familiar - even when it isn't safe.

If you think ignoring the past will make it less powerful, think again. We have to heal the past. We have to clear the old programs and patterns so that we aren't a magnet for dysfunction. We have to change our behavior, recognize the red flags and pay attention to them, rather than ignore them. We have to love and accept ourselves as we are. Until we love ourselves completely, and stop denying our old patterns and behavior we continue to accept circumstances that aren't good for us.

It took me over thirty years of healing, study, searching to get to where I am today. My happiness and bliss are my reward for all that I endured in the past. I worked very hard to clear the old patterns and unconscious beliefs that men are all angry, jealous and abusive, or that love hurt and abused. All of my experiences make me wise, compassionate and loving. I understand what my clients have been through because I have been there too.

If everything is falling apart in your world, it is because your life isn't working for you the way it was. It is time for you to wake up, put yourself first, rather than your relationships, give to you, get to know yourself and clear the past. Isn't it time for you to be happy
with you? When we become happy with ourselves, the rest falls into place effortlessly. Know that light is at the end of this tunnel of darkness, change, and chaos. There are better days ahead.

How Trust Can Deepen Your Bond and Improve Sex Exponentially

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Women need to trust their partners to relax, let go and tap into their wildest fantasies and passion. When trust is present women will feel free to express, explore and offer new and different experiences to their partners. Without trust, some women may not be able to reach orgasm or even relax completely.

Trust is a big issue in relationships. There are many ways to build trust between two people. You will be surprised at how easy it is to create trust. However, the caveat is that trust can be eliminated forever when promises are broken or your actions don't match your words. Trust is a two-way street. Both parties must be honest and live up to their commitments. If you aren't consistently honest, no matter how trustworthy the other person is, trust cannot be created.

Sex is an intimate sharing. Great sexual experiences require a woman to feel safe, respected, adored, admired and loved completely. Men too will experience the ability to be more vulnerable and open when they trust their partner. Intimacy becomes deeper when trust is present.

How To Build Trust

  1. Say what you are going to do and do what you say.
  2. Honor your word.
  3. Only commit to what you know for sure you can deliver.
  4. Communicate! Frequent open communication builds trust. When communication is poor, trust is broken. Poor communication is the biggest reason for relationships not working.
  5. If you can't live up to your promise let the other person know immediately.
  6. Be honest. Telling the truth about what is going on with you can lead to understanding and even compromise. Telling the truth even when the news is bad will increase trust.
  7. Trust is built through small events. Each event leads to greater trust. When trust is present your partner will go to the ends of the earth to support you.
  8. Show that you care. When you exhibit caring others see it, feel it and will give you caring and compassion in return. Caring for your partner's needs exhibits and open heart rather than selfishness. When you show a lack of caring others feel it and will sound an alarm; look out you can't trust this person!
  9. Do the right thing. We trust those who are in integrity.
  10. Admit any wrongdoing immediately. When you can admit you are wrong you build trust. People trust others when they recognize you are honest no matter what. When you can't admit your guilt your ego is running the show. People with large egos usually are selfish, self-centered and can't be trusted.
  11. Don't make excuses for your actions. Excuses diminish trust quickly.
  12. Never strike, abuse, berate or put down your partner. Once physical and emotional violence is present trust will not return. Even the threat of violence is abuse.
It is the small things that build trust. Calling to tell your partner you will be late because of traffic builds trust. Not calling and arriving late causes friction, shows disrespect and isn't honoring either of you. Consistency is key to keep trust on the forefront, rather than the back burner. Be a good communicator giving updates along the way.

Communication is what is needed by voice, with eye contact and your undivided attention. Glancing at your cell phone during a conversation negates trust. Not allowing your partner to see your phone or texts negates trust.

Women need to know they are safe in and out of the bedroom. Most men are far stronger than women. Knowing a man can overpower you can be enough to make some women feel unsafe if they have been abused in the past. Yes, some women are abusive to their men as well. Physical violence has no place in a loving relationship.

How To Stop Toxic Parenting

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Toxic parents create abusive adults. Parenting is one of the most difficult and challenging, yet fulfilling things we can do in our lives.  We can overcome the past by being the adult and changing the past patterns consciously.

Many of us have spent a lifetime healing from the damage done by toxic parenting. When a parent is toxic it may mean years or even a lifetime of estrangement. For me, it meant moving to another country in order to heal the past. I spent years overcoming the damage done by my parents. We need to learn from the past rather than repeat what was done to us.

10 Steps To Develop Healthy Parenting Skills

1. Act like and adult. None of us are perfect. We have to be the bigger person in our relationship with our children. Break the silence after an argument. Make things right, rather than proving you were right.

Looking to build our self-esteem by seeking approval or happiness from our children sets our children up to act as our parents. Seeking approval from our children is an unhealthy behavior.

Be the adult by taking responsibility for your personal self-esteem, rather than trying to receive love from your children. When we place such an adult role on our children, we don't discipline when we need to. Children need to know when they have not made good choices. They need to know that their discipline is for their behavior and we still love them anyway.

2. Avoid labeling your child to hide poor parenting skills. I recently watched a video of a prominent LA coach blaming her child's behavior on her ex. Telling a child that they have your partner's DNA or pathologies sets them up for a lifetime of challenges; it is toxic. A child is a combination of both partners. Telling them they act like their father or grandfather is placing blame.

Instead, address your weak parenting skills. Get some assistance to improve rather than blame. Address your child's behavior in positive loving ways.

3. Don't Make Their Life About You. Children will have successes and failures. When they succeed congratulate them. When they fail or endure break-ups and drama don't make it about you. Don't adopt their emotional state. Focus on your child, not on you. Allow your child to have the kudos and celebrate their successes. Allow your child to experience the suffering. Their experience is theirs, not yours.

Be compassionate when they experience a break-up or failure. Listen, support and give guidance when asked. You are not your child's successes or failures. Allow them to have their day in the sun without you basking in their glory or wallowing in their drama.

4. Curb Impulsivity. We all have emotions, we might feel enraged by our children's actions or disrespect. We need to remember to be the bigger mature person, by monitoring our reaction rather than acting impulsively in response to a situation. We might want to respond with equally hurtful words, harsh punishment or even strike back with physical blows.

Modeling impulse control and taking a little time to come up with an appropriate response or repercussions teaches our children positive behavior, that will serve them well into adulthood.

Are your rules clear? When rules are broken do you have appropriate punishment for your child's actions? Do you tell your children what the repercussion will be if rules aren't followed in advance? If your rules constantly change, or there are not clear repercussions, how will your child learn positive behavior? Do you celebrate positive actions and behavior? Or is your focus only on negative punishment?

5. Guide Rather Than Criticize. Children need to be guided and taught right from wrong. They need to be taught how to stay on a healthy positive life path with good choices and decisions. Giving guidance rather than criticism will support your child's healthy self-esteem. Criticism will destroy their spirit and cause them to give up. Criticism doesn't "help" it hurts and often causes lasting damage.

Don't tell your child they are an idiot, stupid or lazy. Don't tell them they are just like their father or mother. Instead, challenge your child with goal setting which will motivate and give you plenty of opportunities to positively reinforce their great behavior.

6. Children Are Resilient But Very Vulnerable. Children move through emotions quickly. However, we forget that our words and actions impact them forever. Once we say something hurtful, they remember it even if they don't bring it up again. They may forgive easily and appear to move on, hurtful words can impact a child well into adulthood, causing them years of therapy, or health issues.

My oldest brother is in his 70's and is still reeling from our mother's critical words. He blames his mother for his present state of unhappiness. His weight and diabetes tell the tale of his past childhood events on non-acceptance and criticism.

Praise them when they do well on tests, report cards and come in second or third in a race. Encourage, rather than destroy with your words. Remember what you do and say now is leaving a blueprint for their life.

7. Encourage Independence and Responsibility. Healthy love is balanced. Acting as if our child is our lover or partner is unhealthy. We want our children to eventually grow up and be healthy adults. When we smother our children, do too much for them, or catch them every time they fail or fall, live vicariously through them they will never learn from their mistakes.

Don't allow your insecurity or need to be loved and accepted interfere with your child's independence and self-reliance. Riding them incessantly to meet school deadlines doesn't allow them to learn personal responsibility.

Making excuses or running to the school to get your child out of trouble, "My Johnny would never do that!" only sets our children up for issues with authority or the law. Allow your child to succeed and fail on their own so that they know they can make it without you.

8. Avoid Guilt and Shaming. Guilt and shame are the two lowest vibrating emotions humans can have. Guilt and shame lower self-esteem and causes long-term negative effects, cutting your child to the core. Telling your child that you never got to play piano and how disappointed you will be if they don't play, or make good grades, or make the football team, will create the need for outside validation the rest of their lives. Guilt causes stomach issues and leads to anxiety.

9. Take Care Of Your Physical Needs. When we don't get enough sleep, eat healthy food when we need it or have enough downtime, we can't be fully present and rational for our children. When we are tired, we react rather than resolve, we can't be present when we aren't present with ourselves. Model self-care for your children and they will learn from your healthy behavior.

10. Model Healthy Conflict Resolution With Your Partner. Probably the most important modeling we can do for our children is to show them how we resolve our conflict. If we model healthy rational behavior, our children learn it by watching, and listening.

If you constantly critique your partner, they won't respect you. If you put your partner down or abuse them, they learn your negative behavior. If you are having relationship issues, get some help so that your children will be positive reflections of you, rather than the negative reflection of unhealthy behavior.

Children of divorced parents are much more likely to remain unwed or get divorced themselves. If your relationship is abusive, it is likely your children will be in abusive relationships themselves. Your relationship models what your children's relationships with their significant other will be. Do what's best for you and your children.

There are many different parenting styles. We learn as we go. Children don't arrive with an instruction manual. Doing personal introspection and healing helps you be a better parent. Improve upon what was taught to you, each generation on this planet becomes more loving in this way.

I Dare You To Love ME!

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

There are times in our lives that we feel completely broken. Feeling unloved can drive us to do some really crazy Sh*t. In fact, we may even feel a little crazy when we do what we do. Emotional abandonment, sexual molestation and physical abandonment by our parents when we were children are only some of the causes for treating our partners like crap.

It is my wish that this article will help you understand your motivation or your partner's for the things that have occurred and were said during your emotional upheaval.

Women and men can exhibit behavior that dares you to love them. They appear to push you away and then manipulate you to give them love in other ways.

Fracturing occurs when a childhood event, like a rape creates a rift in their soul. Emotional fracturing leads to deep wounding when a trusted or loved person breaks the bond of boundaries. This wounding can be healed with compassion, patience and time. Hypnotherapy, energy healing along with coaching to change thought patterns and the unconscious mind help tremendously. It took me over thirty years without a coach to heal my trauma. Two hypnotherapy sessions helped Alice with her rape trauma.

The worst of the worst

There are several situations that lead to feeling emotionally abandoned and fractured. I have listed the worst here for your review. Children become fractured, pieces of the soul are literally shattered and scattered into the ethers when these events occur. Give yourself compassion for what you have experienced. Forgive yourself using the Ho'oponopono Prayer and then forgive your perpetrator. Forgiveness releases you from the burden of resentment and suffering.

  1. Molestation by anyone four years older than yourself. Any type of molestation fragments the soul. Self-esteem becomes non-existant (though Narcissistic behavior can attempt to compensate). Challenges with boundaries become our life's work. Co-dependency is prevalent as well as sexual addiction and other addictive behaviors. Molested children often become sexually active early in life. Children who were abused often grow up to abuse others, as it was their lessons in what love is (although false). Sex is confused with love. Diabetes can occur as food addictions can surface from a need to feel loved. Food helps us stuff our emotions and allow us to escape slightly from the pain. Negativity, illness and a thirst for love will ensue. Until self-love and complete self-acceptance occurs healthy relationships are impossible.
  2. Rape, sodomy or inappropriate touch by anyone, especially a parent, step-parent, religious figure, Scout leader or teacher. 17 million men have been raped, and molested. Most never get help. Sexual addictions, alcoholism, and drug addiction is often evident in those who have not healed from this trauma. Everything from 1. is included here as well. A loss of innocence leads to anger, rage and often abusive behavior towards partners.
  3. Alcoholic mother. Having a mother that is an alcoholic is worse than having a father who is alcoholic. Our mothers nurture us, care for us and love us. An alcoholic mother is not capable of any of these things. They are completely emotionally unavailable, leaving her children feeling broken, emotionally stranded and abused in so many ways. Relationships are extremely difficult for those who have experienced this type of trauma. Anger is always prevalent. Depression becomes apparent as well as anger you feel you don't have a right to becomes stuffed and ignored.
  4. Alcoholic parents. When both parents are alcoholics our dysfunction rules our lives. With alcoholic parents, we are forced to grow up too fast. Our innocence is stolen. Our view of reality is skewed. Having order is a necessity to make sense of a life where no one was present enough to love us completely. Addictions, anger, depression, even abuse follow us when our parents are alcoholics or drug addicts. Self-esteem is extremely low and therapy, counseling, hypnotherapy and self-love coaching is imperative for a healthy balanced life. Meditation practice helps tremendously.
  5. The Death of a parent. No matter how old we are, losing a parent is debilitating. Losing a parent before the age of ten is extremely damaging. Losing a parent as a teenager leads to co-dependence, addictions, and low self-esteem.
  6. The helpless viewing of a parent being abused is extremely debilitating. You could become abusive yourself. Anger, depression and addictions could be prevalent. Low self-esteem is a matter of course. Helplessness can govern your life until it is cleared.

Manipulation

Manipulation is also known as Gaslighting. It occurs when false information is presented in such a way to cause the other to think that they didn't remember something clearly. It is also referred to as Ambient Abuse, a delightful name for music, but not something you want in a relationship.

Manipulation can also occur when we use a back door to get what we want. It is never a positive thing. Manipulation is a dark energy and occurs when we can't ask outright for what we want. We use subversive tactics to get our needs met. "Do you love me?" is what is being asked when you read between the lines.

Feeling Unloved and Unworthy

Having been in the place of feeling unworthy and unloved, I know that this leads to grave inadequacy. We don't love ourselves enough to be able to receive love. We can't feel it, see it or hear it when it comes. Our shields of protection and unworthiness prevail. "No one could ever love us, so you must be lying."

When someone dares you to love them, they need help. They are powerless to make the changes themselves. They are crying for help.

Wounded People Wound Others

When we are hurting, we often lob insults, abuse and other horrible behavior at those we love. Sometimes it flies out of our mouths and we feel dreadful guilt and shame afterward. Once words are spoken or shouted we can't take back the damage. Abuse chips away at the love that was once there. Having been on the receiving end, I know for a fact that eventually the only feelings we have for the other are negative

When Fear Motivates Us

Fear reigns supreme when abuse is prevalent. No one deserves to be abused either physically or emotionally. Any type of abuse leaves us feeling raw, useless and unlovable. Feeling afraid of our partner is no way to live. Even the threat of violence is abuse. I remember hearing others say to me, well if he didn't hit you it isn't abuse. Then he hit me. The threat of violence is just as debilitating as being hit.

What Can Be Done?

  1. Hire a coach who has been there. Someone who has healed their own trauma and loves themselves is imperative. Often therapists and coaches are doing the work they do to heal themselves. Not everyone is awake and healed.
  2. Forgive. Letting go of the past is imperative to heal.
  3. Love Yourself! When we are wounded we look for love outside of ourselves. Until we find it within, we can't receive or give love in balance. Take one of my audio courses, like Aphrodite Effect, or Happiness Jumpstart, or The Shift. These are reasonable offerings that will clear your patterns of self-destruction and unworthiness. Barring that, download my APP and listen to the FREE offerings available.
  4. Use mantras several times a day. Mantras are very healing. Remember you have had these feelings for years. Don't expect to do a few mantras and be good-to-go. Recite the following daily. I AM LOVED. I AM SAFE. I AM SECURE. Repeat silently while driving. Watch how your world begins to shift.
  5. You are Worthy and Loved already! Yes, I mentioned it above. Look at yourself while nude in the mirror. Tell your reflection you love and accept yourself the way you are. Go over each body part, "I love my face, I love my breasts, I love my stomach, I love my bottom, I love my legs, I love me!" Do it daily.
  6. Fill the emptiness inside. Often we feel empty because we feel unloved and unworthy. Following this post will help you. Click here.
  7. Heal the numbness and lost memories from childhood.

Meet Dennis, This is How He Developed Diabetes

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

During my travels to foreign lands and distant places, The Universe sends me to guide, counsel and heal those who wouldn't normally seek help. On my recent trip to Colorado, I met an unsuspecting gentleman we'll call Dennis (name changed for his anonymity) in Grand Junction, Colorado.

I am not a wall flower I engage with those around me when I need to. Instead of choosing a table in the quiet part of the restaurant, I was drawn to the upstairs room for breakfast. The fact that I was dining in a restaurant was rare. I normally carry healthy foods in a cooler and keep to myself while traveling. I have a long way to go and usually eat in my car. I was Guided to eat breakfast in the hotel restaurant at a particular time.

My attention was drawn to two men seated at separate tables, but conversing happily as if old friends. I asked, could I join the party? I was given a warm welcome and introduced myself to one man with high blood pressure and another that was decidedly overweight, but very jolly, both named Dennis. Weird? Yes. Very weird.

The uniqueness of the moment was not lost on me. I had recently begun dating a gentleman also named Dennis (name also changed).

Synchronicities show up to send us a message. "Pay attention!" My awareness was sharpened as I watched and listened. There is often what some would call magic or Divine Intervention that surrounds my life. Because I am awake, I pay attention to the signs around me and the Guidance I receive. I never know why I am going somewhere when I follow and trust my Guidance, but I am always rewarded for doing so.

Upon introducing myself, we began talking about health and happiness. Eventually, Dennis number two said he had been single all his life. I assured him there was a profound reason why this occurred. He asked if he seemed unhappy. I said he appeared happy on the surface, but his weight told another story. That was when Dennis told me he was diabetic. I wasn't surprised at all. Often men who are in their 50's are overweight, diabetic have sad stories to tell from childhood Dennis began to tell me his.

Our unconscious is what is running the show.

What Is The Emotional Cause Of Diabetes?

Diabetes is caused by missing out on the sweetness of life. It is a longing for what might have been, a need to control and a deep sorrow.

Dennis began to tell me his story. He loved his mother deeply. His father was an abusive alcoholic who physically beat his mother repeatedly. As a little boy, he often stepped between his parents to stop his father from hitting his mother.

On the last occasion, Dennis' mother told him, "Not this time." With two black eyes and multiple bruises on her face and body where she had been kicked by her husband, she took Dennis to an aunt's home and said good-bye to him. She finally had enough.

She boarded a bus to leave her husband and son.  Dennis' mother never made it out of town. She died at the age of 25 "of natural causes" on the bus that was to take her to safety. Her husband was never charged with battery, nor her murder. No one in his or her dysfunctional family questioned what happened to her. At the age of 5, Dennis remembers just having said good-bye and then having to dress up to attend his mother's funeral. As you can imagine, this was too much for his little innocent brain to assimilate.

Today, Dennis is currently surrounded by sweets at the convenience store he owns. He is constantly craving sugar to fill his emptiness and longing for what might have been. His unconscious mind is running the show. On the outside, he appears happy, jolly and balanced. The fact that he has never been able to be emotionally available to a woman and enjoy a committed relationship that lasts is a sign that his internal pain from past events is still present. He has emotions that are trapped inside his body, that I felt when I met him.

Many people are crying on the inside but show up as happy individuals on the surface. Robin Williams was one such person. If you look at someone with severe depression their smile seems false. Looking back at Robin Williams photos and videos you can see the underlying sadness that never left him.

Why Weight Gain Is Prevalent

A big belly is a protective device for our internal sorrow and emotional unavailability. Many of us carry an emotional burden in our abdomens.

Our power center is located in our solar plexus. People with emotional trauma often protect this area unconsciously with over-eating and belly fat. When emotions begin to surface, we often crave sweets like chocolate, ice cream or
Women get diabetes also
cookies to stuff those emotions back where they came from. The longer that we continue to stuff these emotions, the more damage that is done to our physical body. Pancreatic cancer can also develop at a later stage.

Those with diabetes often feel that they were unloved as children. An emotional trauma, like Dennis, had contributed to profound inner sorrow and sadness that can be cleared. Their physical body is what speaks volumes about what is true for them internally. An energy clearing to remove trapped emotions as well as a progression of the inner child to clear the trauma from the past is what is needed for Dennis to begin to thrive.

Inside Dennis is still the five-year-old little boy who's mother said good-bye and left him emotionally abandoned. Many children of alcoholics have deep trauma inside them that needs healing as well. Those children of alcoholics often get stuck in a loop that takes them back to their deepest trauma (age 5 for Dennis) when relationship challenges surface. This loop causes havoc in adult relationships especially when both parties have deep trauma.

Birds of A Feather

We often attract others who have similar issues to help us resolve
them through introspection. This is deep work that often requires an outsider that isn't emotionally charged to help dissect what is truly going on without the triggers. This is some of what I help couples and individuals with.

Emotional abandonment creates emotional unavailability. We appear present, but can't allow anyone to see our true selves without walls, shields or false personas.
