What Are We Telling Our Children?

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

When I was 41 and conscious I gave birth to my daughter. Before I conceived, I was Guided to fast, cleanse and raise my vibration. I couldn't have carried a child so advanced without raising my vibration. I prayed for a spiritual daughter and was told she would be my gift. I had been told I wouldn't be able to have another child after my two sons.

My daughter was born awake. She remembered her past lives and her own children. She asked me one day when she was three, "Mom, you know my dad?" I said, "You mean, Rich?" She said, "No my other father." Then she told me that she and her children died in a fire.

My husband and I bore witness to her conversing with unseen spirits and channeling higher beings.

At age 8 she had pneumonia and said she was beginning to forget what it was like to be with God in Heaven and wanted to go back. Needless to say, I told her, "Oh honey, you don't want to do that! You need to stay here." Afterward, she fell into such a deep sleep, I was unable to awaken her for hours.

The time of conception, which I experienced there was a flash of light and the soul agreed to take form. During the first three months, I felt a flitting in and out of the soul but it didn't stay. At 120 days, I felt a quickening or movement and a considerable change when her soul took up residence in the body of my unborn child. Prior to that point, the fetus had a heartbeat, but no soul.

When a child is born within it is a fully developed soul. There is no such thing as a baby soul. Babies do not have cherubs inside them. No wonder that babies get so frustrated with us when we talk to them as if they are idiots without an awareness or consciousness.

The truth is babies see auras. Babies can tell who has an open heart and who doesn't. Notice when you smile at an infant where their gaze rests. It is usually above our heads or over our shoulder because they are looking at our aura or energy field.

Today, at a local Social Security office, filled with hundreds of people I witnessed something horrific. I watched as a woman told her six-month-old grandchild who was attempting to stand up with her wobbly little legs over and over again, "Hey, Big Chunky! You can't even stand up!" She repeated her admonishment "Big Chunky!" as if it was waving a magic wand over this child. She called this sweet little girl, "Big Chunky!" She never called her by her real name. As I watched I saw a gleam in the grandmother's eyes and stopped counting as she called her Big Chunky more than twenty times while I sat waiting.

Why would someone call a little child who is far from chunky something so derogatory? Often people are totally unaware of how powerful their words are to a small child. Children that grow up being compared to other siblings or gender related remarks "crying like a little girl," end up with low self-esteem.

Frequent criticism creates a child eager to please others. If any of this sounds familiar, you are not alone. In the ten years of energy healing of babies all the way to geriatric patients, I have found that all of us were imprinted by negative beliefs, fears, and thoughts of our parents, but especially our mothers while in the womb. Any arguments about whether the child is wanted or should be aborted created a pattern or rejection and abandonment before the baby is even born.

If our parents were worried about how they would manage to feed another child when a pregnancy is first detected their fears negatively affect the unborn child as well. Imprinting occurs when the mother has an emotional reaction to a conversation or event while pregnant. The mother's emotions are felt and create an imprint in the unborn child. A father's emotions also impact a child, but not as profoundly. An unborn child learns to recognize their parent's voices. When a newborn hears either parent, they will turn their head toward the familiar voices.

Scientist and the medical profession state that learning begins at birth. I contest that learning begins in the womb.

By the time I had my third child, I learned enough about babies to do many things differently. I didn't vaccinate. I felt certain that vaccination was causing Autism and Aspergers Syndrome. I breastfed all of my children but continued until she was ready to wean herself and kept our daughter in our bed, close to me. She didn't like being separated from me at night and cried for hours when her father insisted on keeping her in her crib. We had a very strong bond as a result of her early childhood being what I felt intuitively was best for her, rather than listening to someone's opinion.

I stayed at home with her rather than allowing another person to influence and raise our beautiful child. As a result, she grew up sweet, sensitive, soft and generous. My daughter has a light that radiates from her heart and eyes.

We Have A Powerful Influence

What if the words we speak to a child are like a blessing or a curse? What if the words we speak when a child is a so utterly fresh, clean and conscious soaking up everything the adults around them say and do as their lasting programs? What if these programs govern the child for his or her entire life? What if this unknowing grandmother's words cursed this little girl to a life of obesity and an inability to stand up for herself, or worse yet, Multiple Sclerosis or some other debilitating disease?

Words can hurt adults, they certainly hurt babies and toddlers as well. Wouldn't it be more loving and supportive to tell our beautiful little ones how wonderful they are encouraging their growth through the challenges they encounter so that they become adults with healthy self-esteem knowing that they are capable of doing and being anything they can dream

How Constant Criticism Leads To Autoimmune Disorders

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Imagine a newborn baby girl. This baby is perfect, with ten tiny fingers and toes. She has beautiful skin and a rosy complexion.

When this baby is born, it is yelled at for crying. Her parents scream at her when she needs to be held and slam the bedroom door leaving her uncared for and unloved.

When she is hungry her parents yell, "Stupid baby shut up!" Her parents tell her she is ugly, a waste of their time, an idiot and useless.  When her diapers are dirty, a perfectly natural phenomenon her parent tell her she stinks and is a horrible baby. Over time, this beautiful little girl begins to believe that she is stupid,  ugly, horrible, stinky, dirty and useless. Her immune system begins to shut down because she is useless after all. Most likely this girl will become a victim, and be raped or molested. She is, after all, a victim.

Trauma in our childhood whether it is losing a parent early, having alcoholic or addicted parents, being unwanted or unloved all help to create a background of negativity and feelings of being unlovable, unworthy and undeserving. Perpetuating these feelings with our thoughts continues to impact our psyche, body, unconscious mind and eventually our health.

My Personal Discovery of Creating Ill Health

When I began my healing journey, I began to realize that my negativity and self-loathing were killing me. My thoughts were hateful, filled with scorn and criticism. I was sick all the time. I hated myself and my body. I had repressed anger, constant bladder and sinus infections. I got colds, the flu and rashes all over my body.

I was depressed, negative, anxious; I had Fibromyalgia and Epstein-Barr syndrome, an autoimmune disease. My body was failing because I told it was ugly, useless and flawed constantly. I perpetuated what my parents said to me. I was a useless female that didn't deserve to go to college and would never amount to anything. I jumped from job to job and marriage to marriage. I was a perfectionist a people pleaser and a chameleon. I tried to be what I thought others would like. I was highly emotional and suppressed what I truly thought. I looked for happiness and validation outside of me.

What I Let Go Of To Heal

  • I stopped giving energy to things that didn't matter.
  • I stopped focusing on what others thought of me.
  • I began to change my thoughts from self-defeating, critical and derisive, to loving and accepting.
  • I stopped being critical of myself and others,
  • I stopped worrying about what others thought of me.
  • I stopped being late.
  • I stopped making excuses.
  • I stopped complaining.

I took responsibility for my happiness and my health. JEM

As I did my health began to improve. Little by little, I became happier. I stopped being the chameleon to be accepted, trying to please others and began to be authentically me. I became happier. My depression lifted without medication! My anxiety and worry eased and went away. I am now 61 and have no pain in any part of my body.

Loving thoughts heal the body and the mind. JEM

What Helped Me Most

  1. I was diligent about changing my thoughts from negative to positive.
  2. I used mantras in the background of my mind to reprogram my mind.
  3. I meditated daily.
  4. I became mindful.
  5. I stopped multi-tasking.
  6. I became disciplined.
  7. I witnessed my reactions to situations.
  8. I processed my emotions.
  9. I stopped watching the news.
  10. I stopped reading the paper.
  11. I moved away from my family that was toxic.
  12. I was watchful of being true to myself.
  13. I was gentle, nurturing and loving to me.
  14. I took care of my needs first, instead of the needs of others.
  15. I cleared my energy field several times a week and more if I needed it.

Constant criticism doesn't allow our body to thrive. When our body doesn't meet our expectations, we hate our bodies.

We make statements about this hate which destroy cells and create illness. Perfectionism, control, and fear are what lead to critiquing our every failing. Instead of making your body the enemy why not make friends with it and love it instead?

Loving thoughts send calming signals to the brain.

Negative thoughts create incongruent thought waves and create acidity in our body.
Imagine how it feels to have someone tell you how beautiful you are. Imagine how it feels to have someone pay you a compliment on how great you look. Now feel what those thoughts do to your body. Imagine what it would feel like to have only loving thoughts in your mind about your body. Loving thoughts create perfect, vital health.

We can just as easily create perfect vital health with our thoughts. Unfortunately, our society, big pharma, and even the medical profession do not support the positive creation of vital health. What most people fail to recognize is that every illness, pain, and disease is created by our thoughts and emotions.

Wouldn't You Rather Have Perfect Health?

Fighting cancer
Fighting disease
Fighting fear
Fighting problems

Are not the answer!

Because you are focusing on the problem rather than the solution.

Tap in and see what you feel.
Breathe deeply three times to tap in.
Inhale slowly and completely.
Exhale slowly.
Inhale again completely.
Exhale completely.
Repeat this exercise once more.

Fighting illness creates poor health. We can't fight anything and win. We have to love our bodies, make friends with ourselves to create a healthy body.

Positive thoughts about ourselves create health and well-being.

Negative thoughts about ourselves create illness, and disease.

Suppressing anger creates depression.

Believing that we aren't in control of lives creates anxiety.

When we think loving thoughts about our body, we create vital health. Negative thoughts create negative feelings about yourself and body. Constant criticism will eventually cause you physical pain to signify you are headed in the wrong direction. If you ignore your body's signs diseases are the next level of notification. Auto-immune problems and diseases are created by your thoughts. They didn't just happen!

People that are not conscious don't want to take responsibility for their health and well-being - they believe everything a doctor tells them and dutifully take the pills prescribed without question.

(I am not suggesting that you stop your necessary medication for diabetes or high blood pressure and other serious illnesses. What I am suggesting is that you look for natural remedies when possible to heal yourself.)

Loving thoughts create congruency in the brain, like deep dreamless sleep, they heal our body and mind. Loving thoughts
alleviate anxiety and create happiness. Just like any new fitness or health regime, we need to practice thinking loving thoughts daily so that our brain will begin to make new healthy grooves and patterns.

There is another way. Life can be hard. Honor your path and what you have been through. Heartbreak, sadness, abuse, struggle are all real and very challenging. You have done your best. Give yourself credit for what you have done and experienced. You have been through a lot. It hasn't been easy. Honor the journey you have been on.

It is time to let go of suffering. Begin by forgiving yourself using the simple prayer of forgiveness here. This prayer is what I used to move out of shame and suffering.

Forgive yourself for whatever you have done or said to yourself in the past that was harmful, mean or cruel.

  1. Close your eyes.
  2. Breathe in slowly and completely to bring yourself into your body and the present moment.
  3. Exhale completely. Repeat twice more.
  4. Repeat the Ho'oponopono prayer slowly out loud until you have an emotional release or feel a shift in your energy. Sometimes this involves crying. Sometimes it involves laughter. Allow emotions come up to be released. Feeling your emotions fully is what is required to be happy and healthy.

How To Stop Toxic Parenting

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Toxic parents create abusive adults. Parenting is one of the most difficult and challenging, yet fulfilling things we can do in our lives.  We can overcome the past by being the adult and changing the past patterns consciously.

Many of us have spent a lifetime healing from the damage done by toxic parenting. When a parent is toxic it may mean years or even a lifetime of estrangement. For me, it meant moving to another country in order to heal the past. I spent years overcoming the damage done by my parents. We need to learn from the past rather than repeat what was done to us.

10 Steps To Develop Healthy Parenting Skills

1. Act like and adult. None of us are perfect. We have to be the bigger person in our relationship with our children. Break the silence after an argument. Make things right, rather than proving you were right.

Looking to build our self-esteem by seeking approval or happiness from our children sets our children up to act as our parents. Seeking approval from our children is an unhealthy behavior.

Be the adult by taking responsibility for your personal self-esteem, rather than trying to receive love from your children. When we place such an adult role on our children, we don't discipline when we need to. Children need to know when they have not made good choices. They need to know that their discipline is for their behavior and we still love them anyway.

2. Avoid labeling your child to hide poor parenting skills. I recently watched a video of a prominent LA coach blaming her child's behavior on her ex. Telling a child that they have your partner's DNA or pathologies sets them up for a lifetime of challenges; it is toxic. A child is a combination of both partners. Telling them they act like their father or grandfather is placing blame.

Instead, address your weak parenting skills. Get some assistance to improve rather than blame. Address your child's behavior in positive loving ways.

3. Don't Make Their Life About You. Children will have successes and failures. When they succeed congratulate them. When they fail or endure break-ups and drama don't make it about you. Don't adopt their emotional state. Focus on your child, not on you. Allow your child to have the kudos and celebrate their successes. Allow your child to experience the suffering. Their experience is theirs, not yours.

Be compassionate when they experience a break-up or failure. Listen, support and give guidance when asked. You are not your child's successes or failures. Allow them to have their day in the sun without you basking in their glory or wallowing in their drama.

4. Curb Impulsivity. We all have emotions, we might feel enraged by our children's actions or disrespect. We need to remember to be the bigger mature person, by monitoring our reaction rather than acting impulsively in response to a situation. We might want to respond with equally hurtful words, harsh punishment or even strike back with physical blows.

Modeling impulse control and taking a little time to come up with an appropriate response or repercussions teaches our children positive behavior, that will serve them well into adulthood.

Are your rules clear? When rules are broken do you have appropriate punishment for your child's actions? Do you tell your children what the repercussion will be if rules aren't followed in advance? If your rules constantly change, or there are not clear repercussions, how will your child learn positive behavior? Do you celebrate positive actions and behavior? Or is your focus only on negative punishment?

5. Guide Rather Than Criticize. Children need to be guided and taught right from wrong. They need to be taught how to stay on a healthy positive life path with good choices and decisions. Giving guidance rather than criticism will support your child's healthy self-esteem. Criticism will destroy their spirit and cause them to give up. Criticism doesn't "help" it hurts and often causes lasting damage.

Don't tell your child they are an idiot, stupid or lazy. Don't tell them they are just like their father or mother. Instead, challenge your child with goal setting which will motivate and give you plenty of opportunities to positively reinforce their great behavior.

6. Children Are Resilient But Very Vulnerable. Children move through emotions quickly. However, we forget that our words and actions impact them forever. Once we say something hurtful, they remember it even if they don't bring it up again. They may forgive easily and appear to move on, hurtful words can impact a child well into adulthood, causing them years of therapy, or health issues.

My oldest brother is in his 70's and is still reeling from our mother's critical words. He blames his mother for his present state of unhappiness. His weight and diabetes tell the tale of his past childhood events on non-acceptance and criticism.

Praise them when they do well on tests, report cards and come in second or third in a race. Encourage, rather than destroy with your words. Remember what you do and say now is leaving a blueprint for their life.

7. Encourage Independence and Responsibility. Healthy love is balanced. Acting as if our child is our lover or partner is unhealthy. We want our children to eventually grow up and be healthy adults. When we smother our children, do too much for them, or catch them every time they fail or fall, live vicariously through them they will never learn from their mistakes.

Don't allow your insecurity or need to be loved and accepted interfere with your child's independence and self-reliance. Riding them incessantly to meet school deadlines doesn't allow them to learn personal responsibility.

Making excuses or running to the school to get your child out of trouble, "My Johnny would never do that!" only sets our children up for issues with authority or the law. Allow your child to succeed and fail on their own so that they know they can make it without you.

8. Avoid Guilt and Shaming. Guilt and shame are the two lowest vibrating emotions humans can have. Guilt and shame lower self-esteem and causes long-term negative effects, cutting your child to the core. Telling your child that you never got to play piano and how disappointed you will be if they don't play, or make good grades, or make the football team, will create the need for outside validation the rest of their lives. Guilt causes stomach issues and leads to anxiety.

9. Take Care Of Your Physical Needs. When we don't get enough sleep, eat healthy food when we need it or have enough downtime, we can't be fully present and rational for our children. When we are tired, we react rather than resolve, we can't be present when we aren't present with ourselves. Model self-care for your children and they will learn from your healthy behavior.

10. Model Healthy Conflict Resolution With Your Partner. Probably the most important modeling we can do for our children is to show them how we resolve our conflict. If we model healthy rational behavior, our children learn it by watching, and listening.

If you constantly critique your partner, they won't respect you. If you put your partner down or abuse them, they learn your negative behavior. If you are having relationship issues, get some help so that your children will be positive reflections of you, rather than the negative reflection of unhealthy behavior.

Children of divorced parents are much more likely to remain unwed or get divorced themselves. If your relationship is abusive, it is likely your children will be in abusive relationships themselves. Your relationship models what your children's relationships with their significant other will be. Do what's best for you and your children.

There are many different parenting styles. We learn as we go. Children don't arrive with an instruction manual. Doing personal introspection and healing helps you be a better parent. Improve upon what was taught to you, each generation on this planet becomes more loving in this way.

The Number One Reason Your Marriage Is On The Skids

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Nagging is something I remember well from childhood. My two older brothers both borrowed the car. One had to put gas in it before returning home, the other, was never asked to do so. My mother nagged my father about the inequality of the treatment of the two. Dinner was often when my parents clashed, as they sat face-to-face with one another. My mother had my father as a captive audience. I witnessed my Dad become violent once when I was 14. I will never forget this incident as it colored my experience of men for many years. My mother nagged my Dad about my younger brother not having to put gas in the car for the umpteenth time. He snapped! He heard the same refrain over and over and over and over! It was enough to make my Dad blow a gasket. If you have ever been in a relationship, you know this feeling of intense frustration.

We have all been teenagers at some point in our lives. Getting teenagers to pick up their belongings and clean their rooms is often a challenge. At least one of our parents was guilty of nagging. You know the intensity of negativity that follows nagging. Wondering if you know the meaning? Following are some descriptors for the verb to nag:

griping, complaining, nitpicking, coaxing, catty, bitching, catty, pestering, recurring, unrelenting, urging, persistent, overcritical, demanding, cynical, relentless, shrewish, bitchiness

Nagging according to The Wall Street Journal is the number one reason marriages fail. To nag is a form of manipulation. One person wants the other to do something and has the perception that their partner will not perform the requested task, or will do so at the last minute. When the requests continue to be ignored, both parties get
upset, angry and resentful. The problem is, that repeatedly asking for the same thing makes us look like bitchy mothers, rather than loving partners. The person nagging is in the position of authority while the naggee is placed in the position of child. We are also demeaning the other by our continued banter and requests for the same thing.

Women are more likely to nag because we are traditionally the ones responsible for the operation of our household. We want things to run smoothly and have everyone contribute. If historically, our partners won't do as asked, nagging becomes our method of communication. Women are usually more sensitive to issues early in the relationship. When we ask our partners to do something and fail to get a response, we recognize something is wrong.

On an LA freeway, casual relaxed and scary!
My teenage daughter visited me recently. We made a few road trips while she was in California, and I made the mistake of allowing her to drive. As a teenager, her skill set and abilities are raw. I braced myself and grabbed the "oh shit bar" several times out of concern for my life. She has a tendency to speed, tailgate and look at her phone. I repeatedly had to ask her to be careful, slow down and stop tailgating. I apparently sounded like a nag.

Men

Men may not respond because they don't know how or when they will get something done. They often keep their comments to themselves, if they have not figured out how to do something. There may be an unspoken fear about what our response will be if they say, they don't have time, or just can't possibly get the requested task done in the time-frame. Men may feel like a little boy, traveling back in time to the days that their mama yelled at them for not picking up after themselves. The smaller they feel, the more withholding occurs.

Nagging is Toxic

Nagging is a toxic way of communicating your point. Nagging is as detrimental to a relationship as an affair or bad money management. It can cause your spouse/partner to withdraw and not want contact with you. Nagging belittles your partner and lowers their self-esteem.

TO-DO LIST

A to-do list for an adult diminishes their place in your relationship. It puts the person creating the to-do list in the position of parent. We don't want to be a mother to our husband because we make them into a child. Making your partner a child is
not healthy for a relationship.

A to-do list can create stress for both parties. Erase it, tear it up and stop writing this ever full list for your husband! I recently witnessed my mother have a heart attack in front of my eyes. This heart attack was purely stress related. She had never had any issues with her heart before. Stress kills. So does nagging. Stop it!

What Nagging Does

  • nagging is disrespectful
  • makes your spouse resentful
  • makes your spouse defensive
  • puts you in the position of parent and your spouse in position of child - not healthy!
  • nagging feels like criticism so your spouse may tune you out

Love Goes Out The Window

When we are nagging we are shut down. We are focusing on our wishes not being granted. We are in a state of pessimism, rather than loving acceptance. If you aren't sure whether you are nagging or not, ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Does what I am saying sound loving?
  2. Am I being accepting, appreciative or grateful by nagging?
  3. Am I communicating with an open heart?
  4. Is this a request or a criticism?
  5. Do I expect my request to be ignored?
  6. Is this going to matter in 5 years? If the answer is no, go and make love instead, it will be infinitely more pleasurable than trying to get him to do something he doesn't want to do.
Nagging creates a rift between two people. When we nag, sex and intimacy go out the window. Resentment, anger and frustration build on both sides. When we treat each other with loving respect our relationship thrives. Instead of nagging, why not try words of appreciation or love instead? If your spouse is acting like a child - maybe you are a contributing factor.

The Joy Of Giving Presence

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

The holidays can be a beautiful time to connect with loved ones, share laughter and our presence. To many, the holidays can be extremely stressful - even depressing. The holidays reveal to us what is amiss in our lives, showing us what we need to focus on.

I remember Christmases past when I tried desperately to make everyone around me happy. I fussed over gifts and wrapping. I caused myself stress looking for the "perfect" gift for each of my loved ones. There was always someone that wished for something other than what I chose for them.

My oldest son was the most difficult to please. I would wait in anticipation for his facial expression when he opened his gifts. I was often depressed after the gifts were opened, even though we were all together. My focus was on the gifts, rather than the
presence. I was not in the present. I tried to make others happy. It was an impossible task, one that I have gratefully let go of. It is not our responsibility to "make" anyone happy. The only one we are truly responsible for is us.

Being Happy With Who We Are

It is interesting that in the act of becoming, there is a letting go involved. Allowing ourselves to be really seen by our loved ones, offers a transparent version of ourselves, without subterfuge, barriers or phoniness. Offering others our vulnerability allows them to get close, revealing our authentic presence.

We have to let go of people pleasing. We have to let go of trying to be perfect, or to find the perfect gift. There will always be someone that will be disappointed with what we have given, or how we have given it. We can't be ourselves when we focus on others happiness or comfort all the time. We cannot be happy with us, when we make others' happiness our responsibility. We cannot be happy with us when we are constantly trying to please others. We cannot be happy with our lives when we refuse to let others see our true self.

Everything will line up perfectly when knowing and living the truth becomes more important than looking good. ~Alan Cohen

What Is Authenticity, Really?

When you are authentic, you are you all of the time. There is no other way for you to be, but completely you. You are not one way around one group of friends and another around those in the office. You are the same at home with your neighbors as you are on a
plane, in a supermarket or in a beauty salon. There is no effort involved remembering what you have been or acted like with whom. The only way you can show up anywhere is by being truly you, rather than a version of what you want to show the world. When we can be vulnerable and real with ourselves and others we become truly present, sharing our presence with the world and those we love.

The authentic self is the soul made visible. ~Sarah Ban Breathnach

How Do We Feel When We Are NOT Authentic?

When we are inauthentic we feel out of sync with our values, preferences and abilities. We might feel uncomfortable in our own skin, because we strive to be something that we are not. The need for everything to be perfect may pervade our lives, which is exhausting. We often try to run away from who we truly are, which leads to avoidance in other areas of our lives. We avoid being vulnerable because we don't want others to see our soft chewy tootsie roll center. When we avoid situations we cannot possibly be present fully. We are not sharing our authentic presence.

It Takes Guts - But It Is So Worth It!

Being authentic liberates us from trying to be perfect, or something we are not. Stepping out into the void of the virtual unknown is required. We need to face our inner demons. We need to know and understand ourselves to be authentic. Often the very thing we are afraid to let go of is who we think we need to be versus, who we truly are. Letting go of our concern about what others think of us is freeing. Liberating is the goal, letting go of control  is the way.

Authenticity requires us to accept all of ourselves, rather than just the best or smartest parts. Being authentic is embracing our humanity. It is a recognition that we are all human.

What About Our Mistakes?

We have all made choices and decisions that didn't turn out the way we hoped. All of those experiences are part of who we are. Whether it was a relationship or marriage that didn't last, an education we don't use, our experiences teach us more about ourselves. Looking at our experiences without judgment and recrimination is required. We begin to recognize that our past does not have to equal our future.  Our past offered us lessons and gifts that help us make better choices through our personal inner discovery. Our self observation and inner journey is on-going. It never ends. We constantly morph and change with each new day. That is the wonderful thing about change. We can allow ourselves infinite possibilities each and every day.

Acceptance of our imperfection is the cornerstone of being totally real with ourselves. With the acceptance of all of you, comes the recognition of your talents, abilities and gifts. Rather than being fake, shallow or a card-board one dimensional being, you see the multi-faceted beauty of the genuine you. Acceptance allows happiness to flow in, where control was previously.

Running Away

We can run, but we can't hide. We always show up wherever we are. We cannot run from the chaos of our lives anymore than we can run away from ourselves or choices.

Sex and Authenticity

Orgasms and pleasure can allude you when you are inauthentic. Faking orgasm is inauthentic. It is not being true to yourself or your partner. If you fake orgasm, you also fake other areas of your life. Get real, be honest and let go of inauthenticity. (Read my book)

3 Steps To Living Authentically with Presence

  1. Evaluate what you truly care about. What are the most important things in your life? Align yourself with those criteria. Don't allow others to pull you off your center. Sometimes we base our lives and beliefs on what our parents believed. When we really examine these core beliefs, are they truly ours?
  2. Let go of judgment. Often we judge things that are different than ourselves or that we don't understand. Judgement is a rigid way of thinking. Looking at others and especially ourselves without the magnifying glass of harsh criticism will allow us and others to be human and imperfect. We will stop running away from ourselves and being more present when we become more accepting.
  3. Pay attention to the way your body feels. When you are in alignment with your core beliefs you can feel it. Your body feels good, comfortable and grounded. Your body will never lie to you. It will however let you know when you are out of alignment. Paying attention to people or events that don't concern you can often cause you to feel stressed, or out of alignment. Notice when you get upset. Are you upset with someone else's actions or your judgment of them? Ask,  "is this really my concern? Do I need to take this on?" You have the power to change the way you react to situations and how you feel. How you think about things causes your reactions. Always come back to your inner being. How do I feel? What is making me feel this way? Can I process this differently? How can I change the way I feel about this? How can I go with the flow of life instead of trying to make things happen a certain way.

The Heart Connection

When you are authentic you connect deeply with other people. People feel the truth of who you are. They see it in your eyes. Being authentic changes your interactions from superficial to deep and meaningful connections. You let go of what others think of you. You stop taking everything so personally. People will remember you for being genuine. Not everyone is ready to be authentic or vulnerable. It can make some very nervous and uncomfortable. Accepting the fact that we will never be perfect can be challenging for some. Being authentic and offering your presence to another is the biggest gift of all. You connect heart-to-heart. Love is what joins us together. In the presence of love, there is no fear. True love is all about acceptance. We cannot have real love when we don't love and/or accept ourselves the way we are. Being true to yourself will bring you lasting happiness that striving for perfection or people pleasing never will.

You Hold The Key

You are already worthy. You are already loveable. We all just want to be loved and accepted. The first person we have to learn to love and accept is us. Remember to give yourself permission to be imperfect. We are human after all, by definition, we are that. You already have everything that you need inside of you. You are whole, perfect, loving, kind, harmonious and beautiful. Enjoy the gift of giving your presence.
