The Joy of Pleasure Seeking

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Call me a hedonist! I have to admit that I love pleasure. 15,300,000 other people seem to be searching for it as well when I googled the term "pleasure." Perhaps that is why I am happy. I do my best to focus on the things that make me feel happy and fulfilled.

I do what gives me that incredible feeling of pleasure, this is what many people call following your bliss. I travel at least five times a year, I spend time with my family whenever I can, I eat healthy foods and exercise daily. I do work that I love and I stopped trying to make others happy.

What is the definition of pleasure?

Merriam Webster's definition of pleasure is:
a source of delight or joy. A frivolous amusement, or sensual gratification. A further search using Bing suggested a happy feeling of satisfaction and enjoyment.

There is no doubt that pleasure raises our happiness quotient. Our brain is geared for pleasure. There are many ways we can experience pleasure; getting exercise, eating healthy foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, spending time with the people we love can also help to heighten our experience of pleasure. Sex also increases pleasure for us. Some people may feel that they aren't good at it, and resist having sex. Many people are only having sex occasionally, rather than regularly. Regular sex keeps us healthy, youthful and balanced.

Of course, the flip side is that relationships can be challenging. Some people may feel that their relationships don't make them happy. Their relationships might not bring them pleasure. If not, why not?

I recently watched the movie, Hector and the Pursuit of Happiness. If you have not seen this movie, I highly recommend it. The movie chronicles a psychiatrist looking for happiness.

Not only is the movie humorously done, but also a source of inspiration for those looking for it. "Hector" will help you recognize what you already have. The recognition of the good in your life can allow you to feel happier and give you increased pleasure. I agree with the premises in the movie. Seeking pleasure can bring you happiness and Vice Versa.

Different Ways To Experience Pleasure

My little dog Yoda in the very hot sand
Living in the desert can be an intense experience. In the middle of a  two-week, hundred degree plus heat wave I decided to take an impromptu trip to the beach.  I checked the air temperatures in San Diego and was thrilled to find temperatures there were in the low 70's. I booked my hotel through hotels.com and found a boutique hotel that was pet-friendly in Little Italy.

My time at the beach, although short, recharged me, enlivened and excited me. I received many different types of pleasure there alone. I took myself out to dinner, had a great glass of wine and treated myself to Tiramisu, my favorite. Eating slowly is a sensual experience. Tasting our food slowly, savoring it, can be as sensual an experience as a massage for some of us.

Travel just about anywhere can be exciting. Taking a trip on a whim can be the most exciting. Travel details and planning can bog us down, create more stress, rather than give us the pleasure we seek. Being spontaneous and deciding the same day to go somewhere, without any preparation can give you a sense of excitement or adventure. The trip doesn't need to be lengthy to give you a rush of positive energy and happiness. A road trip can be just what you need to give you inspiration or your batteries a recharge.

A trip out of town to a lake, mountain or ocean can bring you a new lease on life, ideas or inspiration. Water and sand ground us. We all need to get ourselves grounded, in touch with nature to recognize who we are, and enjoy the simpler things in life, like just being alive. Making love in a new place can also re-ignite that spark into your relationship. Camping is an inexpensive way to travel when you can swing it.

The Regenerating Affects of The Ocean

Playing on the beach with my dogs gave me great pleasure. I walked along the soft sand, played in the water with my dogs and relaxed on the shore. The sound of the ocean, and just looking out over the water is in itself meditative. Salt water is healing. The

minerals and salt are restorative agents which cleanse our negativity, balancing our PH. I recommend bathing in salt water to many of my clients because of its healing effects.

Our Brain on Sex

A study in the Netherlands determined that both men's and women's brains react similarly during sex. The brain behind the left eye (lateral orbitofrontal cortex) shuts down, which is the seat of reason or behavior control. When you have an orgasm you lose control. There are some differences as we would expect. When women have
sex the
periaqueductal gray (PAG) is activated. The PAG controls the flight or fight response. It is no wonder that women need to feel safe when having sex. Having trust for their partner also deepens a woman's experience of pleasure.

O-face

When women were asked to fake an orgasm the brain scan showed the part of the brain that controls movement was activated. Women actually having orgasms did not. Interesting that the brain registers the difference when we fake orgasm, our body does also.

The Scientists also said that men and women looked like people on heroin while in the throws of orgasm. Pleasure it seems, is the same. It does not matter whether the pleasure is from food sex or drugs.  Denying ourselves pleasure is also saying no to happiness. How do you deny yourself pleasure? I'd love to hear from you. Visit me on FaceBook and join the conversation.

What Does A Female Orgasm Feel Like?

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Nearly two thirds of women think they have had an orgasm, but aren't sure. If you think you had one, but aren't completely sure, you probably didn't. When you do, you will KNOW IT! Sadly many women get to the end of their lives without ever knowing the amazing feeling of an orgasm. The purpose of this blog is to make sure that woman isn't you!

As sexual tension builds in a woman's body, her nipples may become erect, her breathing changes, she may become silent. The pelvis and vagina become intensely alive, the clitoris changes shape and becomes erect. The labia and vagina become elongated and the uterus
changes position. Blood flow increases in the pelvic region which engorges the clitoris, labia, vagina and the G-spot. A tingling sensation begins to move upwards through the body from the perineum, sometimes with spasms in the anus, always in the vagina and throughout the body.

Your Brain On Orgasm

Waves of intense pleasure surge upward all the way through the central column (spinal column) into the frontal cortex of the brain, releasing pleasure hormones, that reduce the sensation of pain, increasing sensitivity in all areas of the body. An MRI study shows how 80 centers of the brain light up like fireworks in the night sky, at the time of orgasm for women.

Pulsing waves of pleasure continue moving downward after the culmination in the brain, that can be felt in the face, neck, arms, breasts, thighs and pelvis and feet. Her legs might twitch, tense and the toes may curl and release. Oxytocin is released from the brain (the cuddle or God hormone), which can leave the woman with the
"in love" feeling. Oxytocin causes women to trust or bond with their sex partner, often when they shouldn't. Which is why so many experts recommend waiting to have sex until you have an established loving relationship.

This increased oxygen flow can leave the chest and face feeling flushed, radiant and alive. The face flush can be a dead giveaway for sex (remember those teenage years?) The vagina and body may jerk involuntarily as the waves of pleasure move and subside. She may smile, sigh or even erupt in tears with the tension release occurring. Many women report having the feeling of being in touch with a higher power in the throws of orgasm.

Multiple Orgasms

Multiple orgasms are a continued flow of energy upward and downward throughout the body. Wave after wave of pleasure ebbs and flows. Multiple orgasms can be more body focused, than genital, with undulating body movements and jerky limbs. Some women can allow continued stimulation during her orgasm to continue. More often than not, a woman's body is so highly sensitized at this point that even the slightest touch could send her body into involuntary convulsions and jerky motions. Some women have such an intense release that they black out or feel faint after orgasm. This is why the French call an orgasm la petite mort, "Little Death."

Some intense orgasms can actually cause cramping in the colon, rectum and anus. This can be caused by lactose intolerance, constipation or other issues. When I experienced this, it was due to pizza as melted cheese is especially difficult to digest. Pizza is off my diet plan, as I prefer pain free orgasms!

When a woman is having an orgasm she may want all stimulation to stop, as her clitoris, nipples and abdomen can become highly sensitive. Oxytocin is released which flows through the body giving her an intoxicated feeling of mellow enjoyment and bliss.

How To Turn On A Woman

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Women think differently than men. They are wired very differently than men. They are also turned on very differently than men. If women are angry with their partner, getting them
into the bedroom can be difficult. If you have pissed her off and want sex, for increased success, you might want to make amends first. A heart-felt apology can be the shoe in.

Generally women have so many tasks on their mind, that sex takes a back seat. Most women are not motivated by sex. Women need to have the dishes done, the laundry completed, the house tidy and the kids in bed. Sex begins in the mind. If our mind is elsewhere worrying about what has not been completed, getting her body to respond to your advances can be challenging.

Married Women

Married women are a different kettle of fish. We might have been willing and able to be turned on easily before marriage, social commitments, household tasks and children. After marriage and children, our focus changes. Rather than focusing on a partner,
most women are now focusing, care-taking pets, children and the entire household. Distractions due to stress, work, pressures all take their toll on both parties. Where men can use sex as a stress relief, women are the opposite. Many see sex as another task that needs to be completed. Why?

Women are not usually turned on just by seeing a naked man. They may be able to appreciate a beautiful body, but women need to be appreciated, told they are beautiful, appreciated and understood. Women are slow to warm up. If you rush directly to the target - the vagina you might get your hand slapped or worse, kicked out of bed!

Sex begins in the mind for a woman. Most women need to feel good, clean, sexy, attractive and beautiful. If she doesn't feel good about her body, she might not want you to see her naked. If you want sex in the evening, begin in the morning with a note, a hug, or a heart-felt complement. Appreciate her, romance her, listen to what she has to say. Make her laugh, understand her. Men who understand the way a woman thinks will have much more success.

Focus

The biggest issue for women is focus. If they have something else on their mind, sex may be next to impossible. If you can help take some of the pressure off by taking care of the children, or other tasks, you might have more success. Women need to have a calm mind. Women want to feel loved, respected and trust their partners to be turned on.

  1. Tell her she is beautiful. Tell her she smells great! This is one of the single most forgotten phrase for a woman. We love to be told we look beautiful. I had an orgasm from a man telling me this over and over. If you are not telling your woman how wonderful she is, how great she looks and how beautiful she is, you are missing a very important part of getting her aroused. Appreciation for both men and women is a great turn on! We all want to be loved and appreciated!
  2. Kiss her. Long-term relationships often become hum drum. Kissing falls by the wayside. Kissing can turn on both sexes in amazing ways. Cup your hand around her cheek and kiss her with your hand on her face. Whisper her name. Take your time. Use your lips only first. Don't slobber all over her with a wet tongue. Wait to use your tongue until she is coming towards you. Hold her while you kiss her.
  3. Romance her. Candles, soft music and gentle scents can enhance any one's sexual experience. Setting the mood for sex can give your lovemaking an exceptional feel. Music can change both of your moods. Select sexy music from Barry White, to Al Greene, even classical music can be amazing - depending on your selection.
  4. Change it UP! Adventures, camping trips, vacations can be the greatest way to shift a sexual relationship. Getting away from household chores, phones, television and routine can shift you both. Staying at home, having sex in the same room, same position and at the same time could lead any relationship into the doldrums.
  5. Use your imagination! Think like a woman. Women prefer a slow build and being turned on first before penetration. Make sure you have given her what she needs (20-40 minutes of stimulation to get to an orgasm).
  6. Find out what she likes. Take it slow, read a sexy book together, or watch a movie that has erotica in it together to open up your horizons. I am not an advocate of pornography as it creates a gap between reality and fantasy. Women are not like the ones in the porno movies. You may wish they were, but they are not.
Author's note: I really pissed off a man on Linked In who said I was hateful towards men. I love men. I also love orgasms! Most men I have been with didn't know what to do to get a woman aroused enough to orgasm. If both sexes make love to our partners the way they want to be everyone will be happier. We can both get what we want in this way.

The women I have interviewed agree. If this article makes you angry perhaps I am triggering you because I hit a nerve. Everyone wants better sex. We all have to do a better job making sex an important rather than cursory event that we gloss over like robots stuck in a rut. Most people are not happy with their sex lives. There is a reason for this. We aren't talking about what we need, want, or what feels best. Start a conversation today! Make sex and love-making a priority and increase your pleasure. Have some fun with sex. Be loving and kind outside of the bedroom. Appreciate each other. Remember what it was you fell in love with. Joy is in the middle of making love, communing of souls on a deeper level. Making love needs to be sacred, slow and reverent, rather than a heated rush for the big "O!"

What Girls Want

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Many women aren't talking about their dissatisfaction with sex because they don't want to burst their partner's bubbles. I know I didn't. The men I have had sex with seemed compelled to race to the finish line, leaving me wondering what the hell happened? Where is my orgasm? 83% or women are not having orgasms.

When I finally got up the nerve to say something to my husband he was furious with me. His rage kept me in silence. Needless to say, that was our last conversation about sex. The biggest issues in
relationships today are sex and money. My assertion is that when our root chakra is balanced and open, you will find that your issues with money and wealth also begin to vanish. In this article, I will share women's most private thoughts with me, their requests that they wish their men would just "GET."

  1. Stimulate her mind. Women need more than a stiff penis to have a good time. They need to be revered, appreciated and romanced. They need to have their mind turned on. Anticipating a kiss on her neck, the small of her back, can do a lot for a woman. Women get turned on differently than a man. When a woman's mind is on the house cleaning, children, pets, laundry or the blog they haven't written, it is difficult to turn off all the racing thoughts. When our minds are filled with thoughts, there is little room for arousal and sex. Give her the time to become fully aroused before you jump on her.
  2. Keep your clothes on! Yup! Women love to be aroused slowly, given time to be turned on. When the clothes come off quickly and you are ready to "ride 'em cowboy" you may be the only one having the fun - guys. Take time to give her the time to anticipate what is to come. Kiss her neck, run your hands down her back, tease her by barely touching her backside, inner thighs and kiss her hands. Kiss her shoulders, knees, backs of the thighs. Wait to make contact with a nipple or clitoris, until she is so excited for you to touch her there that she can't wait. Allow the sexual tension to build slowly.
  3. With panties on, tease her with a gentle finger just inside the elastic. Brush by her clitoris, listen to her gasp of breath. Allow your touch to tease, excite and arouse her before you begin to stimulate her with a bite to the nipple, or a finger inside the vagina. Remember women are like diesel engines, slow to
warm up. They need time to adjust to the idea of sex. There mere thought of a pulsing penis doesn't usually turn on a woman. You have to get her there.  Kiss her through her panties, breathing through them barely, touching her with your breath.
  4. Massage her tease her, kiss her: hands, arms, ears, feet, toes,
kiss them.  A woman's erogenous zones are different than a man's. See the diagram for the sensitive zones that can turn her on.
  5. Multi-task! Most women need to be stimulated in multiple places at the same time to become aroused and have an orgasm. Why should you care? If you don't give her what she needs she will stop caring about sex at all. Which is why I wrote Orgasm For Life. Spend time on her areola, around the nipple, caressing, stimulate her nipple and clitoris at the same time. When you begin to insert a lubricated finger inside her vagina, giver her clitoris some attention at the same time. Most women need to be stimulated in several places at once to orgasm. You can do it! Get creative! Think, "hanging wallpaper."
  6. Slow down! The best sex is slow sex. Men can last longer. Women can have orgasms when they have the time to be stimulated enough.
  7. Find her clitoris. The clitoris is the woman's answer to the male penis. The clitoris has twice, (count 'em) TWICE the number of nerve endings as the penis does. If you aren't stimulating her to orgasm find her clitoris. This sensitive area at 1:00 looking upwards toward her navel is an exquisitely senstive area. Using a soft pressure and concentric circles, ask what feels best, or have her show you. A tongue can stimulate the clitoris as well. Give her the time she needs. Don't rush, or tell her to come (I had someone demand I come - I have to say it ended our interaction suddenly with a drop of arousal to zero.)
Remember most women need 20 - 40 minutes of stimulation, (kissing, fingering, oral, g-spot stimulation) to be aroused enough for an orgasm. If you are only spending two minutes on fore-play
you aren't giving her what she needs. Just because a women is wet, does not mean she is turned on enough for penetration. 75% of women do not orgasm through penetration alone, yet men are continuing to have sex with women in this way. Many women can orgasm more easily when on top. The great thing about this position is that women can maneuver, while their man lies still. When a man has less movement, less speed, he is more able to control his ejaculation and time his climax to when she is coming.
G-Spot is inside the vagina on the upper wall towards the navel

Men prefer direct stimulation on their testicles, pulling, prodding, grabbing sucking and they would be perfectly happy with just that. However both sexes can benefit from whole body stimulation, kissing, touch, different speeds, pressures, blowing, teasing with a feather. Sex is an art form, not a speed sport. Faster does not mean better. In fact, most women would tell you that slow is what they want. When she begins to get turned on, don't stop, keep it up! Put a blind fold on her and get your feather out. Changing things up may be just what the doctor ordered!

Is It Possible To Masturbate Too Much?

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

I have been studying Traditional Chinese Medicine for almost 20 years. I use acupuncture in conjunction with my energy healing to keep myself healthy and balanced. Both Ayurvedic and Chinese Medicine believe we need to guard our energy as if our life depends on it, because it does.

The Chinese believe that we only have a certain amount of life force. We are given this life force from our parents. Some parents have a strong constitution and live long, healthy lives, like mine. Others, like my ex husband, have a parent, or maybe two that die early, prone to heart issues and karma that causes an early demise. Just as we can spend everything in our bank account, we can also spend the JING, (core essence and life force) too soon. When we spend it too soon, health issues, like erectile dysfunction result.

Men as young as 22 are having issues with erectile dysfunction. It is easier for some shy young men to have sex with themselves rather than face the rejection of a girl. Teens are being educated about sex, by porn sites, because they don't want to talk to their
parents about it. Parents often feel uncomfortable broaching the subject of sex with their teens, and may even be releived that thier children seem to have a lack of interest.

Men married and single are also able to view pornography to experience arousal. Masturbation seems like an effortlessly and painless release, however there are consequences to too much masturbation.

Pornography is easily accessible. There is no need to go to the video store or Red Box to rent porn. It can be delivered quickly and easily to your mailbox. After visiting a porn site, you are followed, like a visitor that was welcome one day and not the next, it can be
difficult to resist this perpetual knock at your door. Watching porn and masturbating is becoming the norm, rather than the rarity for many men. What many are not aware of is the underlying darker side of watching porn and masturbating. Pornography becomes like cocaine.

Everything In Moderation

Watching it a little, once in a while is one thing. When the arousal does not happen as easily, men are turning to harder core porn, to ignite their desire. Like cocaine or heroin, the need for it becomes more intense and with increased frequency, their wives or partners no longer turn them on, and they turn away from their relationships. Doors closed, secrecy builds walls not only causing a deep and powerful addiction, but ruining lives, through lost jobs, wives and families.

Divorce siting pornography addiction is on the rise. PIED (Porn Induced Erectile Dysfunction) is a real phenomenon. Young men are experiencing erectile dysfunction through porn and masturbation addiction. When a 23 year old needs Cialis or Viagra to get an erection, people need to begin paying attention. Pornography can ruin lives. It is not the way real people have sex. There is no communication with another person. There is no love here. Sex without love is empty. It may give you a charge in the beginning, but it will end up leaving you feeling guilty, ashamed when it becomes a necessity in your life.

I know a thing or two about sex addiction. I have experienced it. I know the shame of needing to have sex. Sex without love leaves us feeling empty and alone. Humans need a connection to really thrive. We need to be held, hugged, kissed and understood. Compassion for ourselves is key to being able to move beyond this addiction.

Suppressing Emotions

Masturbation can be a way to suppress feelings of low self esteem. Some men reach for their joy stick because they want to shift the way they are feeling in the moment. Sitting with our emotions and feeling them fully is healthy. Allow yourself to feel the emotions, rather than masturbate to avoid feeling. Feeling is actually healthy.

The feeling of bliss following ejaculation can last seconds or minutes in some cases. Sometimes, however when prolactin is released, deep sadness follows. If you are masturbating because you feel depressed, releasing prolactin often can contribute to depression.

Self love is the cornerstone for healing. Prayer, a Divine connection, meditation and recognizing that you are helpless to recover on your own. Addictions can ruin lives. They cause us to feel unworthy, and worthless. You have value. Don't ever forget it. You can get help. It begins with you stopping today. Recognizing that the compulsion is destroying your life, your health and your vigor. Excessive masturbation can cause depression. Pornography addiction can also cause depression, because you are disconnected from yourself and those around you.

What Can You Do Now?

  1. Abstain from masurbation. Take each day one at a time. Find something else to do instead.
  2. Get out and take a walk.
  3. Write in a journal.
  4. Keep yourself busy.
  5. Take up a hobby.
  6. Do things that take your mind off obsessing about sex.
  7. Pray. Ask for help with your issue. Saying you are helpless over your obsession allows spirit and other angelic assistance. Until you ask for help, the light forces can't do much to assist you. Prayer is powerful. It may seem fruitless at first, but don't give up. Have faith it will help you.
  8. Hire a coach or healer that understands addiction. You can't do this alone. Prayer, a healer, 12 step program or a coach can help you. Having the spiritual aspect in your coaching or healing program will help you tremendously.
  9. Meditate.

Talk To Me!

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

On Sex

Sex allows us to experience ourselves fully. At the very core of who we are is our sexuality. Without sex, we are blocked, limited and not expressing ourselves as the beings we truly are. Sex is a spiritual experience. Thinking you are closer to God by not having sex is a limiting belief. Without sex, our creativity is blocked.
Finances may be challenging or almost nonexistent. Our sexual center is also the center for expressing ourselves out in the world. When we suppress our sexual self, we are repressed. Obsessions often result from a lack of sexual gratification.

I am looking for a response from you, my interested and faithful readers. I really appreciate you being here, reading my articles and commenting when you feel called to do so. I usually get guidance regarding the subjects I need to write about. However, I don't want to be speaking into a vacuum, or writing only about what I think you want to know. What do you want to hear about? What questions do you have? Is there a subject you want more information about - or something I have yet to discuss here? Please e-mail me with questions, subjects or any concern you have about your relationship, or sex life. I will write a generic article with your name withheld.

My book, Orgasm For Life was written to be a guide to both men and women, for deeper understanding, conscious loving and sex for deeper intimacy and happier, healthier lives and relationships. Orgasm For Life helps both sexes come to a deeper understanding of each other's needs, emotionally and physically which helps sex to be better. You can find my books on Amazon.com

How To Let Go Of Shame with Sex

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Shame is one of the lowest vibrating emotions there is. David R. Hawkins author of Power vs Force calibrated each of the emotions using a scale. He found shame to be below anger, desire, fear and even grief. If you have ever felt shame, you know how debilitating it can be. If you have been molested, raped, gotten pregnant when you were not married, shame is something you are very familiar with. Shame is something that children feel when parents or teachers humiliate them. What if you felt shame each time you had sex? I recently worked with a client who came to me to help her heal her addiction to relationships - codependency.

When I asked Cassie (name changed to protect her identity) what her intention was for her healing work she said, that's easy. "I want to heal my shame during sex, so that I feel comfortable in my own skin." Every time she had sex, she felt ashamed. She never could really let go and enjoy the experience, even though she was a mature woman. It was not a matter of her having to answer to anyone about her activity. This shame was felt internally, because of her past.

By our third session, I knew I needed to clear patterns from the past. I performed a past life energy clearing. I felt intuitively that Cassie had 5 religious lifetimes where she had taken a vow of celibacy. I cleared each of these lifetimes separately. I did further research and found that Cassie had been a priest, a Jesuit priest and a nun three
times. The last lifetime, I found she had also been a Mother Superior. She had been married to the church. These vows were so deeply ingrained within her that she could not have sex now without feeling it was very wrong. I cleared the vow having her repeat a clearing statement.

After the past life work, I heard intuitively that I needed to clear the trapped emotions. Following are the emotions related to this one emotion that was trapped underneath the feeling of shame:

Pride
Shame
Disgust
Jealousy
Self Hatred of sexual self
Abandonment
Rejection of self pleasure
Shame regarding pleasure

Cassie's happy place
After the release work, I set an anchor using Neuro Linguistic Programming. This anchor put Cassie in her happy place where she felt completely calm, secure, happy, confident and safe. Then I slowly reduced the sense of trauma and shame during sex. We had to do this process twice to be sure it was complete.  I asked Cassie what her take-away was at the end of session three this is what she said; "I am amazed that there were so many emotions stuck under these feelings of shame."

This past week we met for her fourth session. I had no idea what to expect. As usual, at the beginning of our session, I asked her how she was doing? She said, "Shifting." I asked her, "What do you mean, can you explain?" She said, "Well I have no more feelings of shame - at all! I feel completely comfortable with my sexuality!" I congratulated her on her deep letting go of the past. This was indeed amazing. I was thrilled for her.

I am constantly amazed at the power of energy healing work. I have done traditional therapy myself with a psychiatrist, several times with psychologists and marriage counselors. In marriage counseling I found that if we went into counseling our marriage was over. I have never known any couple to really get help from marriage counseling. The therapists seemed to pit one against the other. It seemed to me that someone was often made to be the bad guy/gal. I did not move forward to a place of healing or well-being with any of these traditional therapies. Nothing really changed. I felt stuck in my story.

Energy work on the other hand moves you out of the story and eliminates the patterns, belief systems and stuck emotions. How great is that! In only three weeks! I am grateful to Cassie for allowing me to share her amazing story. I am also grateful to The Divine, the angels and all the beings of light that assist me when I do this work. I do not do it alone. I always have assistance.

Shifting into sex and passion was a natural transition for me; someone who loves sex and who has healed addictions and codependency. In my book, Orgasm For Life I share what I
learned on my journey from sexual dysfunction to wholeness. I hope you'll read my books and discover your inner soul's purpose on your road to healing. And connect with me for deeper work, if you feel called.

11 Easy Love Lessons For A Happier Life

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Love and happiness are thought to go together. Many people believe that if they could just find someone that loved them they would be happy. I used to feel that way too. In fact, I felt that way so much that I was married and divorced four times! I didn't love myself. Instead I looked for someone else to love me! The problem is that when we don't love and accept ourselves, we are often resistant to love. We think we want it, but just as often we send it packing, by rejecting those who love us. We might not even feel loved by the other, because of our own resistance to love. We might further reject love by saying no in the bedroom, or withholding affection. When we don't love ourselves, our first two centers are often totally blocked. We don't feel safe, because we don't trust ourselves.

Many people are still in search of one or the other. I am here to tell you after searching for love over and over again, that happiness within, outweighs relational love every time, because our lives get better, we become happier, peace filled and full of joy! When we don't love and accept ourselves, our relationships are wrought with issues, challenges and conflict until we love ourselves completely. We are out of balance, often overly emotional, or triggered by others. Our lives are often filled with chaos, conflict and strife. We struggle with the simplest of things. Once we lovingly accept ourselves, with all the warts, wrinkles and flaws, relationships become easy.

When we truly love and accept ourselves, we are happy just being. For me, I am happy whether I am with someone or alone. I am not looking for someone else to fill a void inside me, because there is no longer a void to fill. This is where real love abides. When we love ourselves above any other, love just shows up when we least expect it. When we are happy with ourselves and stop looking, love appears! I further posit that we can love anyone that we choose to love.

Once we are happy with ourselves, love just happens.

Each of us has a story. We were born. We all had a family of origin. Many of us had parents who were dysfunctional on some level, with inadequacies and issues of their own. They did the best they could with what they were given by their parents. Many of us feel that our parents didn't love us enough or praise us enough, allowed us to experience trauma in some way. Everything that happens in our lives is created, to help us grow and evolve. Over the years, I have begun to see these experiences for the gift that they are, rather than the victimization of a child. We are all here on this earth for the same reason; to grow, evolve and become enlightened. Whether you are a believer in Divinty, Buddha, Mohamed, Jesus, or an altheist, we are all here for the same reason: PERSONAL GROWTH.

1. Be Present!

Life is a gift and it is best lived by being present with each moment. When we focus on the past, regretting what we did or didn't do, we are stuck in the past. We can't live in the present always looking over our shoulder with regret. Recognize that you had an experience. Be grateful for it and the lesson you learned. You can always improve. Whether it is becoming a better lover, a kinder more compassionate person, or letting go of the hurt, pain, suffering and emotions from the past will help you be happier in the now. The same thing is true about living in the future. If you constantly wonder when will you meet your love, or when will you be happy, you never will. Breathe. Breathe again. Come back to what is happening in this moment. When we live in the future, we miss the joy of what is happening RIGHT NOW!

2. Stop Critisizing Others

When we attempt to fix or change others it is because we are not happy with ourselves. If you critisize others it means you are critical of yourself. Drop the magnifying glass and the baseball bat. When we beat others up, we also beat ourselves up as well. When we focus on flaws, flaws are
all we see. We all have flaws and faults. We are human. When we expect others to be perfect, we also are striving for perfection within ourselves. Instead of looking at everyone's flaws, focus on the good, everyone has good inside of them. Softening your perspective allowing you to be happy with you as you are, without having to lose 40 pounds or with the job you have now, with or without a partner, or with the partner you now have, will help you be happier. Many beleieve that happiness comes from some outside source. Happiness comes from you. It comes from you choosing it. Choosing to be happy with what you have. Happiness comes from self acceptance. Accept your children, lover, family and friends the way they are, rather than trying to make them BETTER, or trying to fix or change them. This is what life is all about. The more loving you are with yourself, the more loving and accepting you will be of others. The less you critisize others, the happier you will be with you.

3. Let Go Of Needing To Be Right - Stop The Fight!

If you are fighting with others, you are in conflict with yourself ~ internally.  If you find yourself having arguments with everyone, you probably have some self righteous anger within you. Needing to be right comes from the ego self, rather than your heart-connected higher self. If you fight with your family members it is
because you have not resolved internal pain. You may be blaming others for the way you feel.

Love is not about winning, it is about compromise and acceptance. We can't change anyone but ourselves. We can't make someone else do anything. We certainly can't change anyone but ourselves.

Happiness is not about being right or trying to fix the world, or have everyone join you in your opinion or beliefs. Once you give up having to be right all the time, you will find conflicts cease. When you stop fighting with yourself, you will find yourself better able to get along with anyone.

An elderly woman I interviewed recently told me that the way she would decide whether something was worth fighting with her husband over, she would ask herself, "Will this matter a bit in 5 years?" If the answer was no, she would choose to go make love with her husband instead. She said it was infinitely more fun than arguing. She is still happily married AND having regular sex into her 80's. Possible? - Yes it is!

4. Forgive Everyone  - And All Past Hurts and Let it GO!

I know many people that are continuing to tell their story of woe well into their 60's and beyond. Everyone has had challenges. Everyone has experienced hurts, grief and strife. Your parents,
lovers, ex's all did the best they could with what they were given and where they were at that time. Forgiving others sets you free. Hanging onto feelings of resentment or hatred for those who have wronged you only hurts you, not them. If you are estranged from your parents, siblings, children or ex's and feel hatred or resentment for any of them, you have hatred and resentment for yourself. Forgive yourself. Forgive everyone else too. Do the Ho'oponopono Prayer for yourself first and then for everyone who you have hurt or have hurt you. You will feel greatly relieved.

Hanging onto hurts and resentment will eventually cause you illness and even cancer.

5. Set An Intention For Your Life, Love, Relationship

An intention can give you purpose. Setting an intention causes you to move towards something. Once you set an intention, things have to change. You have sent it out to the Universe. Write it down. Writing your intention down makes it move into the material. In other words if you want something to materialize for you write it down. Don't know how to go about setting an intention? Follow the steps next:

Ask Yourself These Questions

There is no time like the present. Make an intention right now after you determine where you are now. Answer hese questions to determine where you want to go. This will help you focus and a assess how you feel right now. Write down the answers. These will shift after writing your intention.

  1. Are you happy in your life, marriage, relationships, work?
  2. What do you want for your life?
  3. What do you want for your family?
  4. What do you want in your love life?
  5. What do you want in a year from now?
  6. What are you passionate about?
  7. How do you want to serve humanity?
Write your intention based on what you now want for you and your life. For example: I intend to live my life to the fullest in love every day.

6. Choose To Be Happy With YOU!

The magic of being happy with you!
Happiness does not happen by waving a wand. We have to choose it. How do we do that? We begin thinking positive thoughts. We stop beating ourselves and others up. We stop looking for someone else to do it for us. We take responsibility for our own happiness and health.

If you aren't happy with you, you won't be happy with anything else either. So many of the women that I work with come to me right after a break-up because they are not happy. Many think that if they have a relationship they will be happy. This is something I can speak about from experience. I have been married four times. I used to look for love in others. I was wanting someone to make me happy. I thought when I got married I will surely be happy then! Not so. The reason is that everywhere we go, we show up as ourselves.

Until we are happy with us we won't be happy with anyone else either. Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

7. Take Responsibility For Your Health - MOVE!

When you love yourself you take responsibility for your health. Getting exercise, eating healthy foods and feeling and releasing our emotions is all part of our personal responsibility. We can't blame others for the way we feel, anymore than we can blame others for our poor health.

Humans were created to be mobile. We used to walk to gather nuts, berries, and the beasts that we hunted. Today most people sit at a computer for hours without moving. Our bodies are healthier when we move, walk or exercise. This does not mean you have to take up

running. Walking is good exercise. Swimming is excellent exercise. Walking in hip deep water can give you a good work out. When we sit without moving our joints become stiff, we begin to feel old. A lack of physical movement can cause constipation and other issues. Along with movement the food that we feed our body will either support us and keep us healthy, or create illness and obesity. The more we love ourselves, the better care we take of our body and health.

Our attitude about life effects everything. If we beleive we are getting old we will age faster than those who continue to think young. Aging gracefully does not mean you have to become old. That is a false premise. My mother is 94, although she doesn't look like she is 40, she still reads 6 books a week, drives a car, lives alone, cooks for herself and is healthy. She used to exercise in front of her television with Jack LaLane for years. Only two years ago she received her Curves 100 t-shirt for attending 100 work-outs in a row. Moving will keep you young and vibrantly

healthy. Get a dog and walk your dog three times a day. My dogs keep me active and walking regularly even when I don't want to, or the weather isn't optimum.

Until I took responsibility for my own health and happiness, I did not become happy with me. Once I did, the relationship although nice to have was no longer my primary focus. I was totally happy with myself, no matter where I lived, no matter whether I was alone or in relationship. That is true happiness. It is not dependent on another, a place or a thing. Lasting happiness comes from you choosing it, every single day. Happiness is an attitude, a shift of perspective.

8. GRATITUDE AND THE LAW OF ATTRACTION

Gratitude is what fuels your creation. If you aren't grateful for what you have now, nothing good will flow to you with ease. Gratitude opens our hearts. Gratitude puts us in the place of love, where manifestation becomes easy. Gratitude alone can raise your vibration faster than anything I know. When we feel sorry for ourselves, we are wallowing in self pity. Shift your attitude to gratitude and begin saying prayers of thanks for the smallest of things. If you are penniless, be grateful the ease and speed that money flows to you. If you don't have your health, begin saying prayers of gratitude for your vibrant health and see how things shift for you. When we focus on being grateful amazing things happen. The Universe supports us, gratitude is the gift we give in return.

My personal experience with wallowing in self pity and focusing on what I didn't have shifted almost immediately when I began to write in a journal every day. I began to script for my life. I wrote the things that I wanted as if they were already present in the material. It only took days for money to begin to come in. I wrote about how grateful I was for the four new clients. Before long, I realized that I already had four new clients! Within three weeks my life shifted in a very big way.

We have to be happy and grateful for the car, the roof over our

heads, our ability to pay our bills and our paycheck. If we aren't grateful for these things we likely focus on what we don't have. Focusing on what we don't have nets your more of what you aren't happy with. Instead of focusing on the outward appearance or your current circumstances, focus on the good.

TO MANIFEST LOVE

If you want love in your life, begin saying "Thank you for the love in my life!" "Thank you for the loving, respectful honoring relationship I now have." This will put what you desire into your energy field. Focusing on being alone will keep you alone.

ASK: I have found that asking questions nets the fastest response, especially when we ask for something that will be a win-win solution for more people than just us. For example:

HOW CAN I EFFORTLESSLY AND EASILY FIND THE PERFECT JOB FOR THE PERFECT PAY?

HOW CAN I EFFORTLESSLY AND EASILY HAVE ________?

9. Daily Meditation - Spiritual Connection

Meditation connects you to the infinite field of potential. It helps to reset your energy. It can shift you from feeling angry, sad or even depressed. Meditation makes everything in your day go better. It helps you focus and gain clarity. It also connects you to your Divine self.

I teach my clients how to meditate. Even those who say they can't or never have been able to quiet their minds, I help them do just that. Meditation allows you to connect with all that is. Remember: You are able to tap into the limitless field of potential through this simple daily activity.

10. Play

Life is really a game. When you learn how to play it, everything becomes play. Life is short have a ball! Have fun with it. Most people have forgotten how to play. Connecting with our inner child helps us do just that. Watch a child. They know how. Play can happen in the bedroom, during sex, you can find yourself laughing rather than taking yourself so seriously. I laugh at my goofiness all the time. When we can laugh at ourselves, life becomes so much easier. Laughter is healing. Laughter raises your
vibration. If you don't remember how to play watch a comedian like Bill Burr, or Jim Gaffigan. They laugh at themselves all the time. Laughter is good for the soul. Play is the way to get you there.

11. Watch What You Say Feel and Believe

We are infinite creators. The Universe is always and in every way working for our good. If we say and believe, "LIFE IS HARD." The Universe will make it so - proving you right. If we say, "I don't have enough money for this." You will continue having not enough money for anything. Instead think carefully before you think. If you are envious of others, it is because you feel life isn't fair. However, you have created your life through your words, thoughts and beliefs. Be happy for others that are happy, or you will never be happy yourself. Be happy for others' successes. Or you will never be successful. Be happy for those that have wealth and money, or you will never have it yourself. You can't hate what you desire, or you will continue to keep it from yourself. You are in conflict in this way.

When we begin feeling we are enough, that we have enough and as a matter of fact, we are the energy of money, we begin to have more than enough. Everything is energy. Our thoughts are energy. Our emotions are energy. When we have a thought coupled with a
strong emotion - we attract whatever we were thinking about ~whether it is positive or negative. Everything is energy; therefore money is energy, love is energy, you are energy! Here are some positive ways to attract what you desire:

  • I am love
  • I am money
  • I am the energy of money
  • I am wealth
  • I am the consciousness of success
  • I am the consciousness of profit
  • I am the consciousness of money
  • I attract what I am
  • Therefore I am love
  • I am loving
  • I love me
  • I love you

Thoughts become things. Watch what you think. Watch how you feel. Notice what your thoughts are. The more we focus on something the more of it we attract, whether we want it or not.

My Personal Journey and Lessons:
I was traumatized early in childhood. I had people I loved and trusted cross personal boundaries, victimize and molest me. I felt unloved, unworthy and worthless. This caused a fracture in my soul. Until I did deep energy work with soul retreival, and released trapped and stuck emotions I felt lost, broken and ungrounded. This is now part of the work I do with my clients. I healed my own addictions through loving me and finding my spiritual purpose here on earth. As simple as that coupled with a deep spiritual grounding, my illness, depression, anxiety and addictions were all healed. Without the spiritual we are lost and feel alone. Daily meditation is what keeps me connected, focused and clear.

The happier I became with me, the better all my relationships were. Instead of fighting with my mother and children, there is ease and peace between us. Happiness became a permanent emotion.

Sex became better. There was laughter during love making! My Tantra healing allowed me to become fully orgasmic. Until that time, orgasms were difficult if not impossible without manual stimulation. I knew I was not alone, which is why I was guided to write Orgasm For Life. If I had difficulties with orgasmic after sexual trauma, there were others that did too.

I share my own personal experiences openly as well as my lessons. Many people can relate to what I have been through. Others did not share the same experiences, yet we cannot judge anyone else, because when we do, we also judge ourselves. Until we walk in another person's shoes we never know why they did what they did, or why they have the experiences they do. Each of us is here to grow and evolve. We do this by having experiences. None of these things is wrong or bad, it just is. Allowing others to have their own experience without judgment is loving.
