15 Ways To Light Your Life On Fire

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Living a spiritual life has created such joy for me. People ask me what I do that makes me so happy with my life every day while many people complain about not being happy with their lives. Some are even disinterested in sex. My assertion is that many people are disconnected from themselves, their partners and their issues. Avoidance has become a way of life for many. If you want to set your heart, life and relationship on fire, read this article completely and make some changes.

Life throws us curve balls, challenges and lots of changes. The way we navigate our individual journey changes over time. After we have experienced different types of loss, financial hardship, the death of loved ones and life-threatening illness, we begin to make changes in the way we live our life. The more wasteful we are with our energy, time and talents, the less joy and fulfilment we experience. Here are 15 ways people fritter their precious energy and time away. Changing these can return to you life-force, joy and even that elusive happiness.

1. Minimize television. The average person will waste nine years of their life sitting in front of the "boob tube." There is a reason that phrase was coined. We sit in a vegetative state of avoidance and disconnection while watching television or movies. There is no greater time waster than watching television, not to mention the negative impact many of the shows have on our psyche. While sitting on the couch, there is little connection, conversation, touching or hugging going on. If sex happens while the t.v. is on, it is a quick disconnected blow-job or pure friction sex without meaning. Is this what you want for your relationship? Instead, spend time in face-to-face conversation with loved ones. Eat at the dinner table with the television off. Don't have a television in your bedroom. Instead get outside in nature as much as possible, connect with the earth.

The Truth Is In The Statistics

Number of Americans who say they watch too much television: 49%. Number of Americans who watch t.v. while eating dinner: 67%. Number of videos rented daily in the US: 6 million. The average youth spends 900 hours in school, 1,200 hours watching television and witnesses 150,000 violent acts by age 18. Gives you something to think about when the rate of violence continues to escalate. More Telling Statistics About Television

The number of troops killed in Afghanistan and Iraq between 2001 and 2012 was 6,488. The number of women killed by current or ex-male partners during 2001 and 2012 was 11,766, nearly double killed through domestic violence than in war. Violence on television is part of our societal experience. Watching violence, diminishes the harshness and reality of these acts, by gradually numbing us. Television is an energy drain and a large source of fear and negativity for many. If you must watch T.V., make it happy and fun rather than violent or  fear-based news or programming, which is really scary.

2. Be Present. There is nothing more important than giving your full attention to what is happening right now. Being present means making eye contact, focusing on what is being said and keeping your attention on this moment and the person whom you are with.

There is nothing more disrespectful than to be on a date with someone, or visiting with a loved one and be texting or talking to someone else on your phone. I experienced this recently with a friend. He kept glancing at his phone during our meal. Even glancing at your phone when you receive a text takes you out of the present moment and is disrespectful to the person you are with. Using your cell phone, answering the phone while with your loved one is classic avoidance. If you can't be present with those you love, you can't be present with yourself. Be polite. Be respectful. Turn your phone off or to silent when with another human being. Take time during the day to shut everything off. We each need quiet, solitude or to commune with nature without distractions for our soul.

Children are with us such a short time. They learn by our example. If you spend 50% of your time doing other things when your children are with you, you will find they won't want to spend time

with you when you want to. Be present with your partner, your children, your family when you are with them. There is plenty of time to talk to those who want to talk to you when you are not physically with loved ones. Find another time to call them back.

Most of us barely remember only having a land-line. When we left the house, the phone rang and no one answered it. Now we have a phone with us in the bathroom, dressing room, car, even in the grocery store. For most of us, there are few times we walk out of our home without it. Most people leave their phone on all the time. There is an energy emitted by the cell phone and television that is not healthy. Turn your phone off at night. Consider turning the phone to silent during dinner, love-making, visits or conversations. When you do, the people you are with will feel appreciated, respected and loved.

Texting while driving is a side-effect of cell phone use. Most of us have looked at our phone while driving the car. Even glancing down for a minute could cause a fatal accident. One of my clients recently dropped an apple, bent down to pick it up and totaled her car. Fortunately, she is safe, it could have been deadly. Being present will shift your reality faster than anything on this list.

3. Reduce Social Media. Although many people use social media to promote business, connect with long-lost friends; spending more than an hour or two a day on FaceBook, Twitter, Linked In, Pinterest, etc. will make you frazzled, disconnected from yourself, real family and true friends. Those people you post your latest meal or vacation to don't care particularly about what you are doing or saying. They have their own issues to deal with. Social media is one of the fastest ways to disconnect yourself from source energy and your High Self. Instead, pick up the phone and call your friends. Have a meaningful conversation about each other's lives. Ask questions. Or better yet, visit your friends and family in person so that they can see your eyes, feel your hugs and know you truly care. Connect by phone or in person with someone you care about every day.

4. Stop Regretting The Past or Focusing On The Future. When we focus on the past or future we can't possibly be present in our lives. When we are not present we won't be happy either. We miss the good things while focusing on something that has either gone already or may never happen.

5. Speak up For Yourself. Most of us prefer to live in peace and harmony. When a situation arises where you give in to what others want to avoid conflict, you are not living your truth. True we sometimes have to compromise with people we love, if you are the one doing all the compromising, you are not living in your truth, you don't have personal boundaries nor are you being authentic.

 6. Take The Higher Road. Avoid complaining, or negative thinking. When we complain, it is as damaging and negative as
gossiping. Talking negatively about others, or your life drags you down. Look at the good in your life. Where is the silver lining? What are you learning from your experience? Know that your life is getting better and better everyday. Repeat this mantra: Every day my life gets better and better! When you focus on your life getting better it will!

 7. Stop Comparing. Everyone is different. You are unique and beautiful in your own right. See your own beauty. Love who you are and what you have. Don't look at others and think that they are thinner, prettier or smarter. There will always be someone that appears to have a better life. It does not mean they do. Know that you are special and be the best you that you can be! Every time that you compare yourself with another, you separate from Source energy and love.

 8. Keep Your Attitude High and Your Critisicm Low. Your attitude creates your reality. Your attitude can shift your world. If you feel life is unfair it will be. Instead know that you will do everything in your power to be positive, think healthy positive thoughts, and not beat yourself or others up either in your mind or with your words.

 9. Have Faith. Faith means you know the universe/God/Source has your back. Everything you think connects with other similar thoughts and reverberates out into the universe bringing more of what you are thinking back to you. Every thought you think is like a prayer. You can either be in faith or live in fear. You can't be in both energies at the same time. Worry comes from fear, or lack of faith. MANTRA: "The universe always has my back!"

10. Love yourself. This really needs to be number one on the hit parade. Without self love we feel like a victim. We feel that life isn't fair, that everyone is out to get us.  If you are always trying to fix or control others you don't love you completely. Read my first book, Odyssey Victim To Victory, it is my life story. It will help you move out of fear, and recognize you are not a victim.

11. Forgive Everyone Starting With YOU! You don't need to have a conversation with each person to forgive them. Forgiveness is for you, not the other person. Remember non-forgiveness is like drinking poison and expecting the other person to die. I recommend the Ho'oponopono Prayer to do this work. It is simple, powerful and painless. Always begin with you when doing healing work.

12. Be Accountable. Sounds like work? Maybe it is. Being accountable for what you say, means you are true to your word,
without excuses. Say what you mean, and mean what you say. Speak your truth. Be honest. When someone asks you why you were late, tell the truth, rather than make excuses. When you are honest, authentic, and love yourself, guilt goes out the window. You tell the truth about your actions and man/woman up.

13. Take Responsibility. When we take responsibility for our life, health and actions we stop thinking of ourselves as a victim. We don't blame others for situations in our lives. Instead we take responsibility. We recognize that something inside of us caused the

situation to occur. When we have a reaction to an outside stimulus, it is our problem, no one made us react a certain way. We can't blame others for our emtions or responses to what they did or said. We no longer look to be rescued. When we move out of victimhood, we become co-creators with The Divine. We recognize our own inner power. We align ourselves with our Divinity. When we recognize and take responsibility for our lives we become emotionally mature.

14. Commitment. Your commitment to yourself, to God, the Universe and others deepens your experience of life. Being committed to be a good parent, a spiritual being, a loving partner requires discipline. Honoring your commitments is all about your word. At the end of your life, your word and honoring your commitments to yourself and others is all we really have. Commitment is honoring yourself and others. You may commit to yourself to meditate every day. You may commit to create a business that serves humanity in some way. There are many ways to commit. When I committed to serve The Divine, I had no idea what or how things would change in my life. But change they did. My life became infinitely more meaningful and purposed filled. With that fulfillment came deeper happiness.

15. Set An Intention. When we set an intention for our life, our purpose and each day, we are placing a blueprint over our world. We are stating that we are creating our day with a certain focus. Intend to live each day as a loving, accepting, being. Or intend to see the beauty in all things as you go about your day. With intention comes clarity. Focusing on what we want with clarity allows you to make
your dreams come true. When we set an intention for our life, it needs to be clear, focused and positive. Setting an intention for your day can change the outcome. Rather than allowing things to just unfold in chaos an intention helps to set the tone for your day and life.

If you begin to consistently make these changes in your life, you will find your relationships improve, you will become happier and more peacefilled. If you want a leg up and some accountability, contact me so I can partner with you. I will compassionately kick you in the butt, ever so gently!

You Are Entitled To An Orgasm

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

My book Orgasm For Life seems to get the attention of men everywhere, women, not so much. Women are just as entitled as men are to have an orgasm. Yet, many still are not having them. The reason I wrote OFL was because I was married four
times, yes, FOUR! Each of those marriages left me flat sexually. It wasn't my husbands' fault. My orgasm did not become an issue for them until I made it one. Part of the problem was my shame regarding sex and my sexuality; I was also embarrassed to admit I wasn't experiencing orgasms. I felt like something was wrong with me. I felt broken and small. I faked it and the men thought I got there. I know I am not alone. It wasn't until I had the confidence and loved myself that I began to self-advocate, not just in bed, but in all areas of my relationships.

Each of you is entitled to experience pleasure. Comedian Amy Schumer was recently interviewed on Huffington Post about her recent speech given in the UK. One of the subjects Amy discussed was that men can have sex no matter how big they are. Women

are made to feel that unless their body is absolutely model-like that they are not attractive. Amy was recently critisced about her curvy body. Her reply was, "I am not overweight, I am perfect the way I am!" You go Amy! Women have been under pressure to look a certain way due to the media. The same pressure does not hold true for men.

Take Responsibility

Amy humorously tells her dates, "Hey have you met my clit?" If we can't direct someone there and ask for what we need, we will never get it. Until I said, "Hey, I would love an orgasm too!" it didn't happen for me. Women historically have tended to our men, their needs, our family's needs, but when it comes to our pleasure, we tend to take a back seat. It doesn't have to be this way. Don't let him go to sleep until you have your orgasm. You are the one that has to feel you deserve it. You deserve to be loved and all aspects of love. An orgasm is an aspect of love. Take personal responsibility for your orgasm and your happiness.

Men Too

I have been with some men who defer to me in sex. This is nice on some level, but sex is about mutual pleasure. We both want to have fun and ecstasy! Everyone is entitled to have an orgasm.

Jennifer Elizabeth Masters is a love and passion coach. She was non-orgasmic into her 50's - which led her to interview hundreds of men and women for her book, Orgasm For Life. This book sheds new light on sacred relationship, understanding and intimacy. Jennifer's journey of healing opened new pathways in her brain, moving from profound depression, anxiety, illness including breast
cancer into true vitality and emotional well-being. Instead of looking older each year, her internal well-being radiates outward causing youthing, rather than aging. True happiness keeps you looking youthful, radiant and thriving! If you are ready to do the work and want this contact Jennifer now.

In 2012, she experienced a profound awakening which shifted her view of reality, God, and love. She has not experienced loneliness, fear or longing since that time. She shares what she has learned from her vast experience of life, love, sex, and God. Her connection with higher dimensions allows her to see the root of your issues quickly in her coaching sessions helping women and men heal past issues, coming into loving acceptance of themselves. When you lovingly accept you, your relationships become relaxed, easy and infinitely more pleasurable.

Is this you?

Do you long to feel loved?
Are you tired of being alone?
Are you tired of feeling lonely in a relationship?
Do you keep attracting the same type of partner that doesn't treat you the way you so deserve?
Are you afraid to be alone?
Do you feel uncomfortable in your own skin, concerned what others think of you?
Are you a people pleaser, but never feel pleased yourself?

You may desire to feel whole, happy and fulfilled. You certainly deserve it. You want someone that can understand what you are going through and can help you get what you so deserve. Jennifer coaches from her personal experience. Jennifer is compassionate, direct and a natural catalyst. Talking with her shifts your energy automatically. Some of what she clears are trapped emotions, blockages, depression, suicidal programming, imbalances and fears from The Akashic Records. If you keep creating the same thing expecting a different result, isn't it time to connect with someone who can truly help you shift permanently? Find out if Jennifer's work is a good fit fo you. 15 Reasons Women Stop Having Sex

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Couples often feel that working on the relationship is of utmost importance, but leave sex out of the equation. Unfortunately, the opposite is true. If sex takes a back seat, communication becomes an issue. Men need to have sex to feel intimate while women need intimacy to have sex.

In our relationships, we sometimes get into a contest of wills. Our egos get in the way of true loving heart-centered connection. Sex is the fastest way to dissipate negativity and disconnection. When sex becomes an occasional activity, tempers flare and resentment builds. When sex is not happening often enough, one or both of the parties may begin to notice other people. When flirting becomes serious affairs can result. Even if it is an affair of the heart, sending your energy in another direction is destructive. Recovering from an affair takes courage - commitment to work on the relationship as well as not being concerned what others think. Often we give up all too soon because we think that is what we should do. Society dictates our sex lives, and the roles we play in our relationships far too frequently.

Reasons Women Stop Having Sex

  1. Women sometimes get angry with their husbands and can use sex as a weapon. Sex can be the way women get their point across - this is clearly manipulation - however it happens. If a man continues to disrespect, abuse or mistreat toxic communication can result. Using sex as a weapon is
destructive. Sometimes, sex is used to control another. Often we are not even aware of what we are doing. A gentle discussion, rather than finger pointing will net you the result you are seeking: love and more pleasure.
  2. As women get older their hormones dip and their vaginal walls and tissue become tender, dry and fragile. The longer women go without sex, the lower their hormones drop and it becomes a vicious cycle. Less sex, the less women want it. If we don't use it, we lose it. The moral of the story is keep having sex REGULARLY (once a week or at the very least once every two weeks). Sex that occurs once a month or less is putting your partner on a starvation diet. They will most likely feel unloved, unworthy and underappreciated.
  3. Sex after menopause can hurt. Especially if there has been a long period of celibacy. After a month, desire drops, vaginal walls become thinner and more fragile causing pain during sex. Dyspareunia is the medical term for painful intercourse. This is not to be ignored. Having sex before you are properly lubricated, is not pleasant. Even with lubrication when vaginal atrophy occurs, bio-identical hormones or herbs can help. Estradiol is a relatively safe hormone to insert into the vagina and can be used for a short time to alleviate this discomfort.
  4. When women are not fully aroused when they are penetrated, the muscles can tense up causing painful sex. The more a man tries to push forward, the more tense the vaginal muscles become. The key is having a partner that cares enough to be tender and gentle with his wife/girlfriend. Slow down, take your time. Do another activity, like oral or clitoral stimulation instead, till you are more comfortable.
  5. Women need to be romanced, made love to all day long. We need to be told we are beautiful, that we smell good and look terrific. We need to be loved, accepted and respected. If a

relationship has been abusive - this will chip away at trust and love. When women are afraid of being hurt, it is natural to not want sex with their partner. Trust is one of the most important factors that needs to be present for deep intimacy and great sex. Without it, desire dwindles. We won’t make love to you if we are angry and you have not apologized. We won’t make love to you if you told us dinner sucked, or was too salty. We are emotional creatures. When our feelings are hurt, women won’t want sex. Women are wired differently than men.
  6. As women get older they become fed up with lackluster sex, not enough foreplay or their husbands (or partners) finishing before they orgasm. This can cause resentment, anger and rejection of their husbands’ advances. Men need to learn how to please their partners - most women need 20 - 40 minutes of stimulation to have an orgasm. With quickies - it is like an appetizer and no meal to follow, it leaves you wanting more. When you don't get it (orgasm) most of the time, women
become frustrated and resentful. Which can cause women to just say, "HELL NO!" (Believe me I have been there.)
  7. Hormones or lack of them can produce low sex drive. Without enough estradiol in our system after menopause women's desire drops to zero. Bioidentical hormones - or hormone replacement therapy can alleviate this problem. The issue with this is, that most women have so little desire to have sex, why would they bother taking medication to alleviate a problem that they are apathetic about in the first place - especially if there are risks involved  - like cervical or breast cancer? There are natural alternatives that I have found helpful. Irwin Naturals is Steel Libido taken daily is my favorite, it works great! It is available at the Vitamin Shoppe, GNC and online. There is also a men's version, I hear is terrific as well. I recommend using natural products whenever possible.
  8. Women can become disenchanted with pleasuring their partners without getting the same pleasure in return. 80% of women fake orgasms. After 20 years - enough is enough. Many women just stop wanting to have sex, if they aren’t being satisfied consistently. I have to say, I was one of them. Hence the book, Orgasm For Life!
  9. The majority of women don’t know what they like, which makes it very difficult to get what they want. The better a woman knows her own body - the better she can ask for what she wants. Self-pleasuring of her own body assists in communicating what she needs.
  10. Many women clam up in the bedroom. They may be able to pick the restaurant they want to eat at or the movie they want to see, but they rarely tell their men “a little to the left, honey!” Some women are quite confident and able to ask for what they
want - many confident women, however, do not for fear of hurting their man's ego. Knowing his self esteem is riding on his egoic thought that he is a good, if not a great lover causes many women to put up with what they have. Most men do not know what women want and need. It is a rare man that can play his wife’s body like an instrument. If you can, I want to hear from you, what you have found works and what doesn't.
Some women have the courage to tell their men what they want and their men either get angry, upset or shut down. Still others ignore what their partner says and think they know better. No one knows a woman's body, like the woman herself. It takes a real man to be able to ask her and pleasure her the way she wants or needs.
  11. Many women are running programs from childhood in their heads about what good girls do and don’t do. Shame and guilt even when married can still be an issue.
  12. 1 out of 3 girls will be molested in childhood. 1 in 5 will be raped or sexually assaulted. These women are often  sexually dysfunctional as adults. This is not a medical condition, meaning there is nothing PHYSICALLY wrong with them. The dysfunction is of an emotional nature = and fear is trapped in the cells of the vaginal walls. Healing of the emotional trauma needs to happen along with physical releasing of the energy in the vagina, tops of the legs and g-spot. 40% of women are considered sexually dysfunctional. This is a HUGE issue. Read about healing sexual dysfunction in my book, Orgasm For Life.
  13. Chemistry plays a large part in women not wanting to have sex. If the thyroid is underactive, or there is not enough cholesterol in the body, or other blood chemistry is out of balance, orgasm may elude her.
  14. When an emotion is repressed - whether it is sadness, grief, unhappiness or anger, sexual dysfunction can result. Many women have repressed their emotions for years and as a result are unable to orgasm. You can tell this is an issue as they will be extremely reactive emotionally. This indicates stuffed/blocked emotions. This is an issue I clear for my clients, painlessly.
  15. Women need to have a deep level of trust with their partner to relax and have great sex. If there has been betrayal, women won’t trust their men. If a woman is afraid of her partner orgasm can be difficult. Trust is important no matter how long we have been married.

There are lots of remedies for lackluster sex. Instruction, understanding, love and compassion. Communication is often lost after a couple has been married a long time. Once children have flown the nest communication may be stilted, rather than easy and open putting sex on the back burner.

Hormones, more direct and longer-lasting foreplay can change a woman's experience so that she is able to let go and achieve orgasm. Sexual healing as a part of emotional coaching and inner child work can heal the past trauma and release the old programming.

The Best Sex In Your 60's and 70's

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Do you ever wonder what sex will be like when you are in your golden years? With the millions of prescriptions filled for Viagra, Cialis, and other drugs for erectile dysfunction, many people wonder if they will be able to have sex in their 60's and 70's. You will be surprised at the truth.

What matters more than our sexual organs is what we do with our brain. The brain is the most important organ in our body which helps stimulate the sexual response. Thoughts about whether you can get an erection may be enough to prevent one. If you think it and believe it, you will create it. Positive or negative, our thoughts create our reality especially when it comes to sex. Famed researcher Gina Ogden reports from the results of her Isis study that the brain is what matters most.

Dr. Ogden's study had 3,810 participants both male and female, ages 18 to 86. She cites this study to show how men and women can use sexuality and spirituality to transform their lives. The study contains extraordinary information about how we might expand our view of love, lust, intimacy, nurturing, empathy, communication, safety, abuse, trauma, ecstasy, spirituality, religion and so much more. The study took ten years to complete after which time Oprah Winfrey interviewed Dr. Ogden on her show.

What I know to be true is that the better I feel about myself, my body, life, business and everything I do, the better sex becomes for me. As I have gotten older, I have become more comfortable in my skin, love myself completely. Although my body is not perfect, I am delighted with how I look. We don't have to have a perfect body to be happy with it. The more comfortable we are with ourselves, the more comfortable we are between the sheets naked.

When we can laugh at ourselves, have fun because we know who we are, have raised our children and are free from the worry of pregnancy, we can relax during sex. We aren't so worried about someone hearing us when we moan or are enjoying ourselves.

Aging does not have to be a negative experience. I see it as a coming of age, or coming into our own. If you don't love yourself and the way you look, I can help you with that. It is my specialty. Aging is not the biggest cause of erectile dysfunction as some would have you believe.

As we mature, we become wiser, freer and sure of what we like and don't like. We are more confident. We are more apt to talk about what pleases us as we get older, there is less at stake, we have fewer fears. We have often integrated spirituality into our lives.

The Findings In the Isis Sex Study:

1. Sexual response is multi-dimensional, including body, heart, mind and spirit. Sex goes beyond the physical performance to include what we think, feel and what sex means in our lives. This finding concurs with the latest neuroscience regarding sex and interactivity in our brains for both sexes.

2. Sex is embedded in relationship with ourselves, our partners and a power greater than ourselves (no matter what you call that power). The culminating energy of orgasm connects you to the universe, source energy and God. It also involves taking the risk to create intentions for our own sexual happiness - which is consistent with the most psychological and spiritual thinking.

3. Sex gets better as you get older, involving more laughter, play, fun, eye contact, sharing and less angst about societal and religious programming. This finding challenges current medical and pharmaceutical biases regarding the need for performance enhancing drugs. (More on this in my next article - did I tell you about my laughing orgasm after 59?)

4. This finding suggests that broadening our sexual horizons can help us transcend sexual wounds, guilt, shame, as well as debilitating cultural messages such as, "good girls don't" and "real men score." A multi-dimensional view of sexuality and intimacy encourages self esteem, promotes sacred union which is in alignment with the law of attraction about enhancing health and drawing positive energy into our lives.

Not Having Sex?

If you aren't having sex, you might want to re-consider. I have met many women who consider themselves holy because they are NOT having sex. Did you know that the universe and your higher power expands when you experience pleasure? Yes indeedy! The Divine experiences bliss when we do. Everything we experience the universe and our higher power experiences also. Living a life of celibacy shuts down the first two chakras and can create financial issues. To live your highest spiritual potential we need to be in Divine relationship with a partner, having sacred sex.

Relationships are how we heal our own lives, creating bliss, joy and complete fulfillment. Humans were created to enjoy pleasure, rather than deny themselves that joy.

The Number One Reason Your Marriage Is On The Skids

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Nagging is something I remember well from childhood. My two older brothers both borrowed the car. One had to put gas in it before returning home, the other, was never asked to do so. My mother nagged my father about the inequality of the treatment of the two. Dinner was often when my parents clashed, as they sat face-to-face with one another. My mother had my father as a captive audience. I witnessed my Dad become violent once when I was 14. I will never forget this incident as it colored my experience of men for many years. My mother nagged my Dad about my younger brother not having to put gas in the car for the umpteenth time. He snapped! He heard the same refrain over and over and over and over! It was enough to make my Dad blow a gasket. If you have ever been in a relationship, you know this feeling of intense frustration.

We have all been teenagers at some point in our lives. Getting teenagers to pick up their belongings and clean their rooms is often a challenge. At least one of our parents was guilty of nagging. You know the intensity of negativity that follows nagging. Wondering if you know the meaning? Following are some descriptors for the verb to nag:

griping, complaining, nitpicking, coaxing, catty, bitching, catty, pestering, recurring, unrelenting, urging, persistent, overcritical, demanding, cynical, relentless, shrewish, bitchiness

Nagging according to The Wall Street Journal is the number one reason marriages fail. To nag is a form of manipulation. One person wants the other to do something and has the perception that their partner will not perform the requested task, or will do so at the last minute. When the requests continue to be ignored, both parties get
upset, angry and resentful. The problem is, that repeatedly asking for the same thing makes us look like bitchy mothers, rather than loving partners. The person nagging is in the position of authority while the naggee is placed in the position of child. We are also demeaning the other by our continued banter and requests for the same thing.

Women are more likely to nag because we are traditionally the ones responsible for the operation of our household. We want things to run smoothly and have everyone contribute. If historically, our partners won't do as asked, nagging becomes our method of communication. Women are usually more sensitive to issues early in the relationship. When we ask our partners to do something and fail to get a response, we recognize something is wrong.

On an LA freeway, casual relaxed and scary!
My teenage daughter visited me recently. We made a few road trips while she was in California, and I made the mistake of allowing her to drive. As a teenager, her skill set and abilities are raw. I braced myself and grabbed the "oh shit bar" several times out of concern for my life. She has a tendency to speed, tailgate and look at her phone. I repeatedly had to ask her to be careful, slow down and stop tailgating. I apparently sounded like a nag.

Men

Men may not respond because they don't know how or when they will get something done. They often keep their comments to themselves, if they have not figured out how to do something. There may be an unspoken fear about what our response will be if they say, they don't have time, or just can't possibly get the requested task done in the time-frame. Men may feel like a little boy, traveling back in time to the days that their mama yelled at them for not picking up after themselves. The smaller they feel, the more withholding occurs.

Nagging is Toxic

Nagging is a toxic way of communicating your point. Nagging is as detrimental to a relationship as an affair or bad money management. It can cause your spouse/partner to withdraw and not want contact with you. Nagging belittles your partner and lowers their self-esteem.

TO-DO LIST

A to-do list for an adult diminishes their place in your relationship. It puts the person creating the to-do list in the position of parent. We don't want to be a mother to our husband because we make them into a child. Making your partner a child is
not healthy for a relationship.

A to-do list can create stress for both parties. Erase it, tear it up and stop writing this ever full list for your husband! I recently witnessed my mother have a heart attack in front of my eyes. This heart attack was purely stress related. She had never had any issues with her heart before. Stress kills. So does nagging. Stop it!

What Nagging Does

  • nagging is disrespectful
  • makes your spouse resentful
  • makes your spouse defensive
  • puts you in the position of parent and your spouse in position of child - not healthy!
  • nagging feels like criticism so your spouse may tune you out

Love Goes Out The Window

When we are nagging we are shut down. We are focusing on our wishes not being granted. We are in a state of pessimism, rather than loving acceptance. If you aren't sure whether you are nagging or not, ask yourself the following questions:

  1. Does what I am saying sound loving?
  2. Am I being accepting, appreciative or grateful by nagging?
  3. Am I communicating with an open heart?
  4. Is this a request or a criticism?
  5. Do I expect my request to be ignored?
  6. Is this going to matter in 5 years? If the answer is no, go and make love instead, it will be infinitely more pleasurable than trying to get him to do something he doesn't want to do.
Nagging creates a rift between two people. When we nag, sex and intimacy go out the window. Resentment, anger and frustration build on both sides. When we treat each other with loving respect our relationship thrives. Instead of nagging, why not try words of appreciation or love instead? If your spouse is acting like a child - maybe you are a contributing factor.

5 Ways To Create Fireworks In Your Bedroom

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

If you are feeling that your relationship is too mature for fireworks, think again! Anyone can have fireworks in their bedroom, all you need is a mental shift. Even for those who are post-menopausal, I am here to tell you from experience anything is possible!

I remember a time when I really felt bad about myself AND sex. I had negative sexual programming from my parents. My mother was so afraid I would get pregnant that her most frequent refrain was, all men want you for is sex. I believed her. But was that a bad thing? When we are teenagers, sex is one of our most frequent thoughts.

When I did have sex before marriage, I felt guilty, shame and afraid. I know I am not alone when it comes up to societal programming. I made up all kinds of stories in my brain about sex being dirty, bad, wrong and a sin. Of course, a lot of these beliefs were taught by my parents, church and even physical education teachers. Our

societal and religious teachings taught us that good girls don't and bad girls do. When we are raised with stories about men only wanting one thing and girls who do certain things are sluts, it can be difficult to do those things and not feel you are one. Even after marriage and children women can feel that they shouldn't be having sex because they are not mothers. Mothers don't have sex, do they? Yes they do!

1. Change Your Mind

Our minds can change over time. As we become more mature, we recognize that much of what we were taught was fear-based and untrue. Remember sex is natural. We were created to be able to express ourselves as sexual beings. Sexual feelings, sexual pleasure, and sexual urges are as natural as breathing. If you don't have any urges at all, there is plenty you can do about it. It has been proven that women who fantasize about sex while having it, are much more likely to orgasm than those who don't. Fantasy deepens your sexual experience. It may be something as simple as imagining someone looking in your window watching you. Or maybe envision you and your partner making love outdoors!

2. Your Heart-Mind Connection

A loving connection with a partner who accepts you as you are deepens our level of excitement as well as experience of pleasure. The more we trust our partner, the better the sexual experience. Trust comes from commitment, mutual respect and honesty. If you aren't honest in your relationship, sex probably will not hit all the
high notes you would like. Letting go and allowing yourself to surrender to the experience without concern for how your face or body looks, making eye contact with your partner connects the two of you, keeping you both present - in the moment.

The more loving of yourself you are. The more you will enjoy sexual expression. Sex is part of you. Your sexual being is the foundation of you. The better you feel about you, the better sex becomes. Have fun with your partner, sex is play! Get in touch with your inner child, you might even find yourself laughing when you orgasm. How great is that?

3. Stay Present

The brain is complex. It governs your sexual experience. If you have difficulty letting go, keep bringing yourself back to the present. Focus on what you are receiving from your partner. Don't judge what is happening. If your mind wanders, bring it back to the pleasure of the moment. Focus on what your body is feeling. Let go, allow those feelings to build. Relax into the feelings, staying present. Breathe with an open mouth.

4. Breathe

To experience profound pleasure, your body needs oxygen. Many of us hold our breath during sex. This is counter-productive. Open your mouth instead and breath deeply. The oxygen will help in the arousal process. Your body needs oxygen for orgasm to occur.
Remember as above so below. This universal law is also true for your body. If you mouth is clamped shut, so will your body be. Relax your jaw, open your lips and breathe. Your vagina (for women) will relax and be much more likely to do what it needs to and achieve orgasm with your mouth open.

5. Allow Your Fuse To Be Lit!

Many of us are so concerned that our partners have a good time, we forget to focus on ourselves. This can be true for both men and women. Allow yourself to be ignited. If you like ass play, ask for it. If you want your partner to talk to you, tell them! You have to take charge of your own sexual experience. Allowing things to just happen without asking for what you want might mean you don't get what you need to explode like fireworks in the night sky. The more you talk to each other while having sex, the better experience you will both have. A little encouragement here and there is helpful. Let your partner know when they've got the right spot, or motion. Tell them you like what they are doing. "That's it! Don't stop! Ya baby!" will help you get what you need. Before you know it, you'll be popping off like fireworks.

If you spend all your time getting your partner there and don't ask for pleasure yourself, there is something wrong. Sex is supposed to be a mutual experience. It is not to be one-sided. If it is, you need to re-group and punt. Take the discussion of sex off the playing field. The time to talk about what you each like, want and don't like is outside the bedroom.

If LIBIDO is an issue for you, do something about it. You don't have to take Cialis, or Viagra to get aroused. For women, there is Irwin Naturals Steel Libido. I used it recently with excellent results. After a long dry spell we might need a little kick. I found with daily
use it works best. By day 5, I felt like a teenager again. For men, I found Cialis does absolutely nothing. Each person is different, however. I would love to hear what works for you. I hope you will join me for my brand new radio show beginning July 8th, on BBM Global
