12 Signs You May Be Depressed

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Everyone experiences sadness from time-to-time. Depression is very different than sadness as it is more severe, usually accompanied by low self-esteem, loss of interest in activities that would normally be enjoyable, low energy and pain for no reason. Depression is characterized by dark or low moods for more than two weeks. Depression affects home, family, work and social functioning.

Women experience depression twice as often as men.

Many of us experience depression and are unaware of why we feel so bad. I experienced chronic depression for over twenty years without being diagnosed. My mother pooh-poohed that I was depressed because I functioned, though not very effectively in my life. I was irritable, reactive and even aggressive with others. I lost interest in sex, had insomnia I "managed my insomnia" with two capsules of Benadryl a night. I lived life in a fog of fatigue, illness, aches pains and memory loss.

What Causes Depression

The medical profession admits to not knowing where depression begins. From my personal perspective, I found that depression is due to a combination of unbalanced hormones, lack of serotonin and repressed anger that we are unable to express at an early age.

Sexual molestation, rape and not being loved, validated or confirmed by our parents in positive ways also contributes to depression. Divorce, break-ups and feeling unloved and lonely can also add to our burden of pain and suffering. Our thoughts become increasingly negative which impacts our stress levels adding to the downward spiral of emotions.

We are left holding a bag of deep-seated repressed resentment and anger from being a "good girl" or "good boy" for our parents.

The stored emotions begin to bubble up when they are unprocessed. Our body will begin to show signs of struggle with illnesses like diabetes, cancer or arthritis. The longer that our trapped emotions stay in our body, the more profound the depression and physical body pain becomes. PTSD is another form of suppressed emotion with a side of depression.

What The Medical Profession Says

The cause of depression is a combination of genetic, environmental and psychological factors. Approximately 40% of the risk for depression is related to genetics. Other factors such as major life changes, chronic illness, certain medications and substance abuse.

Cognitive behavior therapy and interpersonal therapy can help. Medications seem to work better in cases where severe depression is present. Taking medications without doing some form of therapy, energy work or healing will not cure the depression.

Medication and Affects:

Medication for depression is not a cure all. Medication places a band-aid over the issues and further suppresses the original cause - emotions that have not been experienced and expressed.

I was given Prozac for my depression and fell asleep at the wheel driving to work repeatedly. When I drove three exits past where I worked, I called my doctor that day and said, "I'm done with Prozac!" He informed me it was dangerous to go off the drug cold turkey. My response was, "Not as dangerous as driving three exits past my work without knowing how I got there." I never took another prescription for depression or anxiety (except an occasional antibiotic).

I cured myself through cognitive therapy and energy healing which I now do for my clients.
Signs of Depression:
  1. feeling listless and hopelessness
  2. insomnia
  3. fatigue
  4. negative thinking that you can't stop
  5. irritability
  6. increased aggressive behavior
  7. memory and recall issues
  8. pain without a reason
  9. loss of interest in life, social activities
  10. hearing voices in your head that aren't yours
  11. you might even feel a little crazy (and how I hate the expression "cray cray!"
  12. clutter in your car, home, closets and office
Given the peak onset of depression is 25 to 44 years of age, hormones play a significant role in depression in women.

Different Types of Depression

Yes, there are different types of depression from Pre-menstrual, Post Partum Depression, Perimenopause, Menopause, Bi-Polar and Borderline Personality Disorder.

What Can You Do?

Cognitive Therapy has been shown to work at least as well if not better than anti-depressants as it treats the root cause, rather than providing a band-aid that masks symptoms. The work I do with clients uses Cognitive Therapy in combination with energy clearing to lift the root cause or pattern, shift low-self-esteem and support you in feeling better about yourself and your life. The combination has remedied those with severe depression as well as those with suicidal tendencies.

Testimonial About A Suicidal Client Cured!
8.18.2016

Jennifer has been an incredible force in my life since the day that I met her. She has done several clearings for me in the past, I knew she was the real deal and my intuition screamed to me, that she was the perfect person to help when my sister began to struggle with severe depression to the point of becoming suicidal.

A month had gone by and my sibling was like a shell of her former self. She was not eating, barely sleeping, and had not been able to work at all. I was able to convince her that an energy clearing would be beneficial for her.

Jennifer had just returned home from travel right before I contacted her, but she dropped everything to help us within 10 minutes of my reaching out to her. Jennifer had a ton of insight into my sisters' personality and the origins of her struggle, yet half-way through my sister felt she couldn't continue with the clearing, and instead Jennifer continued with me on the phone. Because of this I was a bit skeptical as to whether it would work for her, but I kid you not. Four days later I contacted my sister and she was at Disney with her kid, about to "get some lunch" I couldn't even believe it worked that effectively and within such a short period of time.

Since the clearing, my sister has returned to work and although things are not perfect she has returned to her normal, spunky, intelligent, funny, wise, self.
I thank Jennifer tremendously. She has a true gift, a huge kind heart, and has been an enormous blessing to myself and my family. I would highly recommend her services to anyone and everyone. She's that good!

Does Size Really Matter? Penis Envy

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Penis size is a subject of women's magazines and men's health forums. Does size really matter? Do women prefer large penises, or medium-sized members? What if your Johnson is very small? What do women really think about men's penis size? If you have thought it, I have probably heard it. Your burning and throbbing questions are going to be answered here.

A study published in the British Journal of Urology International suggested:
"Even though most women are satisfied (85%) with the size of their partner's penis, most men have anxiety and insecurity about their size."

Famous People With Large Penises

The tabloids are filled with articles regarding who's penises were the largest. Liberace was said to have a fourteen inch penis.

Teens And Twenties Measure

As soon as a teen's penis has finished growing, the rulers come out. How long is it flacid? How long is it erect? Men mark their masculinity by the extent of their packages. Our sexuality is the core of who we are. It is understandable that men would focus on their genatalia wondering how they measure up.

What Is Average?

  • Average length for an erect penis is 14.2 cm (5.6 inches)
  • Average circumference of an erect penis is 12.2 cm (4.8 inches).
There Is A Problem With Huge Penises

If you talk to women, like I have, huge penises can be problematic. It is more difficult to perform oral sex comfortably. It can actually be painful to have sex with someone with a huge penis.

After Menopause

As we age, a huge penis can cause such pain that intercourse may become impossible as vaginal tissues become fragile. Women complain that men with large Johnson's feel that all they have to do is show up! Having a large penis does not mean you know how to pleasure a woman. There is an art to bringing a woman to orgasm and giving her pleasure. Be sure to use an organic lubricant without heat.

Just having a large member, isn't enough. If you are a man who has both, kuddos to you! You have one very lucky partner!

What Do Women Say About Penis Size and Satisfaction

Most women (45 out of 50) are more concerned about the width, rather than length, according to one study. More important than size however, is how long can a man last? Is he able to give a woman pleasure? Can she attain an orgasm with her man? These are more important than the size of a man's penis. For more information about giving a woman pleasure, read my book, Orgasm For Life.

Women often refer to very small penises as "pencil dicks." What is medically considered so small that augmentation surgery is recommended?

When Is A Penis Too Small?

Very small penises are rare. Most men are worried about size when it has more to do with self-esteem. Below, I have a remedy for you.

Researchers concluded in The Journal of Urology, after studying 80 normal men that; "Only men with a flaccid length of less than 4 centimeters [1.6 inches], or an erect length of less than 7.5 centimeters [3 inches] should be considered candidates for penile lengthening."

My Advice To You Men That Are Worried About Your Size

Self-love is paramount to a happy life and relationship. If you pick apart your body, tell yourself you aren't enough, you have an issues with confidence and self-esteem. I do hypnotherapy over the phone very successfully with issues of confidence, worry, anxiety, fears and limiting beliefs. Never compare yourself with others. There will always be someone with a bigger, prettier or more satisfying looking penis. Don't do it!

I also do Neurolinguistic Programming to shift you quickly, usually in one or two sessions for fears. I have worked with men who had erectile dysfunction that was an unconscious issue and remedied their issue in two sessions. Book your session with me here and get over your anxiety.

Your unconscious mind believes what you tell it. Instead of saying negative things about yourself and your body, affirm your power. Affirm your success and watch your thoughts about your penis shift!

I am big, not small!
I am powerful, not weak!
I am virile.
I am healthy.
I love my body.
I love my penis.
I am grateful my penis is so beautiful, strong and powerful!
I love my life. I love my body!
I am whole, perfect, strong, loving, harmonious and happy!

I Am Grateful for my vibrantly healthy body!

15 Reasons Women Stop Having Sex

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Couples often feel that working on the relationship is of utmost importance, but leave sex out of the equation. Unfortunately, the opposite is true. If sex takes a back seat, communication becomes an issue. Men need to have sex to feel intimate while women need intimacy to have sex.

In our relationships, we sometimes get into a contest of wills. Our egos get in the way of true loving heart-centered connection. Sex is the fastest way to dissipate negativity and disconnection. When sex becomes an occasional activity, tempers flare and resentment builds. When sex is not happening often enough, one or both of the parties may begin to notice other people. When flirting becomes serious affairs can result. Even if it is an affair of the heart, sending your energy in another direction is destructive. Recovering from an affair takes courage - commitment to work on the relationship as well as not being concerned what others think. Often we give up all too soon because we think that is what we should do. Society dictates our sex lives, and the roles we play in our relationships far too frequently.

Reasons Women Stop Having Sex

  1. Women sometimes get angry with their husbands and can use sex as a weapon. Sex can be the way women get their point across - this is clearly manipulation - however it happens. If a man continues to disrespect, abuse or mistreat toxic communication can result. Using sex as a weapon is
destructive. Sometimes, sex is used to control another. Often we are not even aware of what we are doing. A gentle discussion, rather than finger pointing will net you the result you are seeking: love and more pleasure.
  2. As women get older their hormones dip and their vaginal walls and tissue become tender, dry and fragile. The longer women go without sex, the lower their hormones drop and it becomes a vicious cycle. Less sex, the less women want it. If we don't use it, we lose it. The moral of the story is keep having sex REGULARLY (once a week or at the very least once every two weeks). Sex that occurs once a month or less is putting your partner on a starvation diet. They will most likely feel unloved, unworthy and underappreciated.
  3. Sex after menopause can hurt. Especially if there has been a long period of celibacy. After a month, desire drops, vaginal walls become thinner and more fragile causing pain during sex. Dyspareunia is the medical term for painful intercourse. This is not to be ignored. Having sex before you are properly lubricated, is not pleasant. Even with lubrication when vaginal atrophy occurs, bio-identical hormones or herbs can help. Estradiol is a relatively safe hormone to insert into the vagina and can be used for a short time to alleviate this discomfort.
  4. When women are not fully aroused when they are penetrated, the muscles can tense up causing painful sex. The more a man tries to push forward, the more tense the vaginal muscles become. The key is having a partner that cares enough to be tender and gentle with his wife/girlfriend. Slow down, take your time. Do another activity, like oral or clitoral stimulation instead, till you are more comfortable.
  5. Women need to be romanced, made love to all day long. We need to be told we are beautiful, that we smell good and look terrific. We need to be loved, accepted and respected. If a

relationship has been abusive - this will chip away at trust and love. When women are afraid of being hurt, it is natural to not want sex with their partner. Trust is one of the most important factors that needs to be present for deep intimacy and great sex. Without it, desire dwindles. We won’t make love to you if we are angry and you have not apologized. We won’t make love to you if you told us dinner sucked, or was too salty. We are emotional creatures. When our feelings are hurt, women won’t want sex. Women are wired differently than men.
  6. As women get older they become fed up with lackluster sex, not enough foreplay or their husbands (or partners) finishing before they orgasm. This can cause resentment, anger and rejection of their husbands’ advances. Men need to learn how to please their partners - most women need 20 - 40 minutes of stimulation to have an orgasm. With quickies - it is like an appetizer and no meal to follow, it leaves you wanting more. When you don't get it (orgasm) most of the time, women
become frustrated and resentful. Which can cause women to just say, "HELL NO!" (Believe me I have been there.)
  7. Hormones or lack of them can produce low sex drive. Without enough estradiol in our system after menopause women's desire drops to zero. Bioidentical hormones - or hormone replacement therapy can alleviate this problem. The issue with this is, that most women have so little desire to have sex, why would they bother taking medication to alleviate a problem that they are apathetic about in the first place - especially if there are risks involved  - like cervical or breast cancer? There are natural alternatives that I have found helpful. Irwin Naturals is Steel Libido taken daily is my favorite, it works great! It is available at the Vitamin Shoppe, GNC and online. There is also a men's version, I hear is terrific as well. I recommend using natural products whenever possible.
  8. Women can become disenchanted with pleasuring their partners without getting the same pleasure in return. 80% of women fake orgasms. After 20 years - enough is enough. Many women just stop wanting to have sex, if they aren’t being satisfied consistently. I have to say, I was one of them. Hence the book, Orgasm For Life!
  9. The majority of women don’t know what they like, which makes it very difficult to get what they want. The better a woman knows her own body - the better she can ask for what she wants. Self-pleasuring of her own body assists in communicating what she needs.
  10. Many women clam up in the bedroom. They may be able to pick the restaurant they want to eat at or the movie they want to see, but they rarely tell their men “a little to the left, honey!” Some women are quite confident and able to ask for what they
want - many confident women, however, do not for fear of hurting their man's ego. Knowing his self esteem is riding on his egoic thought that he is a good, if not a great lover causes many women to put up with what they have. Most men do not know what women want and need. It is a rare man that can play his wife’s body like an instrument. If you can, I want to hear from you, what you have found works and what doesn't.
Some women have the courage to tell their men what they want and their men either get angry, upset or shut down. Still others ignore what their partner says and think they know better. No one knows a woman's body, like the woman herself. It takes a real man to be able to ask her and pleasure her the way she wants or needs.
  11. Many women are running programs from childhood in their heads about what good girls do and don’t do. Shame and guilt even when married can still be an issue.
  12. 1 out of 3 girls will be molested in childhood. 1 in 5 will be raped or sexually assaulted. These women are often  sexually dysfunctional as adults. This is not a medical condition, meaning there is nothing PHYSICALLY wrong with them. The dysfunction is of an emotional nature = and fear is trapped in the cells of the vaginal walls. Healing of the emotional trauma needs to happen along with physical releasing of the energy in the vagina, tops of the legs and g-spot. 40% of women are considered sexually dysfunctional. This is a HUGE issue. Read about healing sexual dysfunction in my book, Orgasm For Life.
  13. Chemistry plays a large part in women not wanting to have sex. If the thyroid is underactive, or there is not enough cholesterol in the body, or other blood chemistry is out of balance, orgasm may elude her.
  14. When an emotion is repressed - whether it is sadness, grief, unhappiness or anger, sexual dysfunction can result. Many women have repressed their emotions for years and as a result are unable to orgasm. You can tell this is an issue as they will be extremely reactive emotionally. This indicates stuffed/blocked emotions. This is an issue I clear for my clients, painlessly.
  15. Women need to have a deep level of trust with their partner to relax and have great sex. If there has been betrayal, women won’t trust their men. If a woman is afraid of her partner orgasm can be difficult. Trust is important no matter how long we have been married.

There are lots of remedies for lackluster sex. Instruction, understanding, love and compassion. Communication is often lost after a couple has been married a long time. Once children have flown the nest communication may be stilted, rather than easy and open putting sex on the back burner.

Hormones, more direct and longer-lasting foreplay can change a woman's experience so that she is able to let go and achieve orgasm. Sexual healing as a part of emotional coaching and inner child work can heal the past trauma and release the old programming.

The Best Sex In Your 60's and 70's

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Do you ever wonder what sex will be like when you are in your golden years? With the millions of prescriptions filled for Viagra, Cialis, and other drugs for erectile dysfunction, many people wonder if they will be able to have sex in their 60's and 70's. You will be surprised at the truth.

What matters more than our sexual organs is what we do with our brain. The brain is the most important organ in our body which helps stimulate the sexual response. Thoughts about whether you can get an erection may be enough to prevent one. If you think it and believe it, you will create it. Positive or negative, our thoughts create our reality especially when it comes to sex. Famed researcher Gina Ogden reports from the results of her Isis study that the brain is what matters most.

Dr. Ogden's study had 3,810 participants both male and female, ages 18 to 86. She cites this study to show how men and women can use sexuality and spirituality to transform their lives. The study contains extraordinary information about how we might expand our view of love, lust, intimacy, nurturing, empathy, communication, safety, abuse, trauma, ecstasy, spirituality, religion and so much more. The study took ten years to complete after which time Oprah Winfrey interviewed Dr. Ogden on her show.

What I know to be true is that the better I feel about myself, my body, life, business and everything I do, the better sex becomes for me. As I have gotten older, I have become more comfortable in my skin, love myself completely. Although my body is not perfect, I am delighted with how I look. We don't have to have a perfect body to be happy with it. The more comfortable we are with ourselves, the more comfortable we are between the sheets naked.

When we can laugh at ourselves, have fun because we know who we are, have raised our children and are free from the worry of pregnancy, we can relax during sex. We aren't so worried about someone hearing us when we moan or are enjoying ourselves.

Aging does not have to be a negative experience. I see it as a coming of age, or coming into our own. If you don't love yourself and the way you look, I can help you with that. It is my specialty. Aging is not the biggest cause of erectile dysfunction as some would have you believe.

As we mature, we become wiser, freer and sure of what we like and don't like. We are more confident. We are more apt to talk about what pleases us as we get older, there is less at stake, we have fewer fears. We have often integrated spirituality into our lives.

The Findings In the Isis Sex Study:

1. Sexual response is multi-dimensional, including body, heart, mind and spirit. Sex goes beyond the physical performance to include what we think, feel and what sex means in our lives. This finding concurs with the latest neuroscience regarding sex and interactivity in our brains for both sexes.

2. Sex is embedded in relationship with ourselves, our partners and a power greater than ourselves (no matter what you call that power). The culminating energy of orgasm connects you to the universe, source energy and God. It also involves taking the risk to create intentions for our own sexual happiness - which is consistent with the most psychological and spiritual thinking.

3. Sex gets better as you get older, involving more laughter, play, fun, eye contact, sharing and less angst about societal and religious programming. This finding challenges current medical and pharmaceutical biases regarding the need for performance enhancing drugs. (More on this in my next article - did I tell you about my laughing orgasm after 59?)

4. This finding suggests that broadening our sexual horizons can help us transcend sexual wounds, guilt, shame, as well as debilitating cultural messages such as, "good girls don't" and "real men score." A multi-dimensional view of sexuality and intimacy encourages self esteem, promotes sacred union which is in alignment with the law of attraction about enhancing health and drawing positive energy into our lives.

Not Having Sex?

If you aren't having sex, you might want to re-consider. I have met many women who consider themselves holy because they are NOT having sex. Did you know that the universe and your higher power expands when you experience pleasure? Yes indeedy! The Divine experiences bliss when we do. Everything we experience the universe and our higher power experiences also. Living a life of celibacy shuts down the first two chakras and can create financial issues. To live your highest spiritual potential we need to be in Divine relationship with a partner, having sacred sex.

Relationships are how we heal our own lives, creating bliss, joy and complete fulfillment. Humans were created to enjoy pleasure, rather than deny themselves that joy.

Sexy At Sixty

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Aging is a state of mind. Today at 60 many people look like they are barely 40. When we eat healthy, live an active, positive lifestyle with meditation, mindfulness and great sex, we stay young well into our 80's.  There is no reason if you are healthy
not to feel sexy. Feeling sexy is a state of mind, just like feeling old is. Focus on happiness, mindfulness and meditation keeps us young. I tell my body, "Every day I am getting younger and younger." The mind is an amazing thing. At nearly 61, may people confuse me for a forty-year-old. I look younger now than I did in my 50's. I am not alone. Those who don't drink, don't smoke, eat healthy nutritious foods stay younger much longer than those who eat processed foods.

Mind over Age

There is no doubt that being happy keeps us looking young. One of the things I help women do is to be happy. When we are happy, fun-loving and open to new ideas, our mind stays fresh, alive and youthful. Our mind is an amazing computer for our bodies. When we upload negative software, our body ages quickly. When our software (thoughts) are loving, accepting and positive we stay young much longer.  I have met women who complained about everything and looked 20 years older than me, that did not believe me when I told them my age. Complaining, gossiping, griping, bitching and focusing on the negative, fighting with everyone in your life, will age you faster.

Our attitude is everything. With a positive attitude and a healthy perspective focusing on vibrant health, rather than illness and youthfulness rather than "growing old" also helps to program the unconscious mind. 90% of our thoughts happen without our knowledge. Allowing the unconscious mind to run amok allows us to fall into self-criticism and negativity. When we look at ourselves in the mirror and focus on how fat we are, fat is all we see. We fail to see the beauty that is there. The more loving you are to yourself, the more radiant the love is that shines out of your face, skin and energy field.
Our bodies go through change. Hormone production slow down. This drop in hormone production can slow down our metabolism, resulting in weight gain, or at least challenges staying at the same weight. As our hormones change so do our desires. Thinking about
sex on a daily basis, engaging in massage, touch and love-making regularly will keep your body supple, alive and passionate.

Having regular sex keeps the vagina supple and exercised. Without regular sex, the vagina will shrink and the tissue inside can become atrophied and tender. There are natural methods that are safe for post-menopausal women to use. I love the Vitamin Shoppe. They have a great selection of products at reasonable prices.

Libido

If our libido drops, there are so many things we can take safely that are plant-based to jump start our motors. My favorites are mentioned in my book, Orgasm For Life. I have used Horny Goat Weed and Steel Libido with excellent results. Steel Libido by Irwin Naturals helps with dryness which is a side-effect of menopause.

Natural Lubricant

My favorite lubricant is coconut oil. Olive oil works well also. Coconut oil has the added benefit of being an anti-fungal agent, good for inflammation and also works as an analgesic (Pain reducer).

We Were Meant To Move

Indigenous peoples move until they die. They don't sit in chairs or on a couch all day. Many people reduce their activity level as they grow more mature. Our bodies were meant to move well into our
Even after a knee replacement they are walking
80's and 90's. Staying active keeps our joints mobile and our hearts working with the added oxygen of exercise. We don't have to job or do aerobics. Swimming is the best exercises for working all our muscles. Walking is a non-contact sport, that keeps knees and arms moving. Getting outside in nature makes life worth living.

Oxygen and Lung Capacity

Many people are barely breathing. Not inhaling fully will result in a reduced lung capacity as you grow older. Shallow breathing is often a result of low self-esteem. Affirm life by breathing in deeply. Make yourself do this at least three times a day. Affirm, I LOVE
LIFE and breathe in. Slowly and completely exhale.

Yoga, dance, Zumba weight training all help to keep the body fit, alive and oxygen filled. Sex relieves stress, boosts our immune system and gives us a burst of feel-good hormones.

We might not look the way we did when we were 20, that doesn't mean we can't still kick our heels up and live a little, or a lot! Loving acceptance of you, your body and the process of life, rather than fighting with nature will allow you infinitely more joy. Thinking sexy thoughts, walking by the mirror and telling yourself, "You are still one hot mama!" Will shift your perspective. Nothing stays the same. Doing exercises will help keep your butt firmly in place and your mind much happier.

Although our libido may be non-existent at times (or maybe even all of the time) there are measures we can take to help our body stay supple and youthful inside. Using coconut oil, and a plant-based libido booster can shift your mind-body and your spirit will take over! Think sexy thoughts. Feel sexy. Buy yourself some new underwear that makes you feel sexy!

Finding Love and Passion After Menopause

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Normal?

What is normal for one person, isn't normal for another. What I have found is that when there is a will there is a way. Attitude however, can block us from living a life outside the "normal" limits that society teaches us it "should" be.

What I have learned is that most women have an attitude later in life that is closed, rather than open. Shut down instead of willing. Bitchy rather than loving. I feel it is time to change the crone days into Goddess days. I never liked the name crone anyway.

As we age, we become wiser. We may become happier with who we are. We have learned a lot during the process of life. Sometimes we have to be hit over the head to recognize the lesson, but eventually we learn. What we have to do however, is not become jaded from what we have learned. We often become men haters, because of the past. We forget that our men have loving hearts too (when they are loved also). We give and we get. It is the flow of life. When we don't give. Not only do we age and become hardened, we also miss out on the beauty of living in the moment and saying "HELL YES!" to the Universe. Hand holding can be a bridge to opening the door to something more a little later on. Start small. Take baby steps if you have not been having regular sex.

Age is just a number. I don't abide by any rules that have been previously set down by any society about what age means. I don't feel old, hard or set in my ways. I am always open to learning new things.... well most of the time, if you use your sense of humor and kindness. I prefer to be asked nicely, rather than dominated or

nagged into doing something. Cajole me, love me, praise me, humor me and I am putty in your hands. But tell me what to do, and I will resist and fight like a wild banshee! I feel most people would agree that they would rather be treated with respect and an adult, than nagged like a child.

Sex After Menopause

I have spoken to hundreds of men whose wives have been going through menopause. These men for the most part say they are living in sexless marriages. I am sorry for those men. They feel unloved. They want sex. They want body contact. I was talking to a man last night at Costco, in fact who said he had another 8 years
before he thought his wife MIGHT allow him to have sex with her again. Of course he commented that I would work for him, in the meantime. I am not interested in meddling in someone else's marriage. Been there done that and my t-shirt was given away to Goodwill over 30 years ago. Never again. Remember cuddling can provide an avenue for so much more. Just don't expect anything. Be patient. Be loving and caring.

The loss of libido is a natural part of menopause. It can begin in peri-menopause and shift when the process of menopause is complete. Some women have a slight drop and others a total lack of interest. Women are not motivated like men are in sex anyway. To have a loss of libido for some women is not a problem. They don't miss it. Others do. To have no sex drive at all after experiencing a healthy sex drive can be a real challenge. There are all sorts of ways to combat this issue naturally.

The hormones estrogen and androgen (female testosterone) drop dramatically. This shift in hormone levels changes everything from the brain to the vagina. Even breast tissue changes. Many women are so disinterested in sex, that seeking assistance to shift their libido does not enter into their consciousness. Talking about this issue together is necessary. Menopause affects the relationship, not just the woman.

Exercise Is A Must!

Regular exercise can help prevent the aging process, cancer and reduce stress. There are so many reasons to continue to move and stay active. Your health and happiness depend on it. Get out and walk 40 minutes three times a week, at the very least. You will feel
You'd rather look at him, wouldn't you?
better, sleep better and look younger. My mother is 92 and still active. She never stopped walking, moving and communing with others. Reading keeps the brain active. Don't forget to exercise your brain too. We are never too old to learn and grow, it will keep you alive and thriving.

Atrophy is A Real Thing

If we don't continue to exercise our vagina, internally, it will shrivel up and die. It will shrink, the tissue will become so overly tender that the only thing that will shift it is estrogen. There are many ways to get estrogen. The safer way is to continue having consistent sex. Keeping the hormones level. If you stop having sex in the hopes that one day, things will get better, your husband will be looking for a massage therapist who gives happy endings. You think I am kidding? I am not!

Getting Turned On

Speaking from experience, we need to be turned on with a gentle experienced tongue. Brought to orgasm this way gently. Sometimes, penile penetration is just too painful. For the men in the crowd, let me explain what I am talking about:

Envision your penis feeling like it is being seared with a blowtorch. Then envision someone cutting through the skin on your now scorching hot, painful penis with a serrated knife. That is what penile penetration feels like when there is no estrogen present and the vagina has atrophied. It is beyond the pain of having a baby painful. Painful sex is not like what you have seen in 50 Shades of Porn. Believe me when I tell you, there is NOTHING, and I mean NOTHING that is appealing about having your vagina torched with a red hot blow torch and then cut with a knife. So tell me, what compassion can you give your wife? How can you see getting beyond this very sticky and painful place of no-no- hell-no sex?

Read My Book That's How

Orgasm For Life has the power to turn on a 92 year old widow! Oh yes, it did! It will turn on Hugh Hefner without Cialis, or Viagra! It will turn on a postmenopausal woman with no sex drive at all. I have women tell me all the time, "I stopped reading it because I was so turned on and I don't have a partner!" My response is masturbate! Enjoy the ride!

Getting turned on is one of the missing components in being post menopausal. It doesn't mean you are dead! Many people continue having regular sex well into their 70's and beyond. Where there is a will, there is a way! You can still have and enjoy sex. It just may take a few tries some coconut oil, taking maca powder or other sexual plant-based stimulants, that are completely safe. Visit your health store and check out the natural products that can increase lubrication and hormone levels naturally.

Remember

If you don't use it, you lose it. Regular sex, each week, is better for your body and hormones than attempting to wait two or three months between sex sessions. Your hormone levels will drop too much, because your brain will say, "Well that chapter has closed! We don't need those hormones anymore!"

 For Men Only

Perimenopausal and Postmenopausal women may suffer from (but not necessarily) depression, sadness because they can't have babies anymore, then they realize "YAY I can't have a baby anymore! I don't have periods anymore! I have freedom from the threat of getting pregnant!" Crazy? No not really. We get a little jazzed after we realize that we really didn't want another baby anyway. The knowing that it is no longer possible can create some sadness at first.

Think about it this way; if you had been having a regular friend come by each month, that made you realize you are a woman, different from men in this wonderful way, that you could create and carry a life in your lovely body, then after 45 or 50 years of having that monthly visitor, you no longer had it, how would you feel? A little crazed, dazed and confused. Yes, that about describes menopause. It is a huge life change. It makes us older women. It makes us - crones..... ew! We may be wise, just don't call us OLD!

We still need to be told we are lovely, attractive and sexy. Maybe even more so now, because we don't get the wolf calls and whistles like we used to, unless the parking lot at Costco is incredibly dark, like it was just last night! What was he thinking? He was old enough to be my middle son!

When It Comes To Sex

Be like Monty Python: Now for something completely different!

Sex after menopause can be oral, or just a massage and a hand job. Get creative. Maybe sex can be mutual massage and manual masturbation for you both. Think outside the BOX! It does not have to include penetration. Remember, your woman has a tender vagina. It is not as young and stretchy as it once was. The skin might tear much more easily. Once it does, sex is excruciating. Pushing through a tear is like having sex with one testicle in a vice grip. Would you want to? No you wouldn't. So be nice. Be kind and most of all be sensitive to her needs. Passion can still arise, it just might look a little different.

Pleasure Without Pain

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

When we think of sex, most of us think of pleasure, orgasm, release and smile. When sex is painful, these thoughts do not come to mind.

Pain during intercourse is referred to as Dyspareunia. When Dyspareunia is present, no amount of lubrication will help. Vaginal atrophy due to extremely low levels of estradiol is typically, but not always the cause. Little research has been done on this subject. Yet millions of women experience it.

There are other reasons for extreme vaginal pain during sex. Psychological reasons often present as pain in the pelvic floor as well as vagina. Burning, extreme discomfort make sex impossible. When your partner says it hurts, stop. Pushing through is not possible.

I experienced Dyspareunia. When it occurred two things were present. No connection with my partner and very low levels of estradiol. Post menopausal women often have vaginal atrophy. The tissue in the vagina begins to thin, become fragile and frail. Lubrication does not make these symptoms disappear.

Painful Sex In Young Women

Some of my clients are young woman, under the age of 25. When pain presents in a young woman the reason it usually, but not always psychological. It is possible for a young woman to have low estrogen, but not typical.

Young girls are often chastised by parents for "whoring around." Even when they are not having sex, hyper vigilant mothers can program their daughters with unhealthy sexual programs. "Men only want one thing!" "Where have you been? Have you been having sex?" When parents (especially mothers) pound these thoughts into a young girl's mind, these negative belief systems become lodged in the body. It sounds strange, or weird. However when you recognize that our bodies are made up of cells, each with memory, this is not inconceivable.

When our mothers were raped, or sexually molested themselves as children, they may have negative programming themselves. They pass on to their daughters these negative belief systems. Each time sexually demeaning and condemning words are spoken with vehemence and shame - these words have a lot more power. The shame is imbedded in the vaginal wall.

I recently worked with a woman who did not have sex until she was 22, due to her mother's programming. When she finally did have sex, it was excruciatingly painful. This feeling did not diminish with time. Sex is impossible for her, without clearing the programming and cellular tissue.

How Can This Be Healed?

For Young Women

For young women, the programming that has been imbedded in the cellular walls needs to be released through an energy clearing. Once that is done, gentle physical healing needs to be done by a professional tantrika or lover that has been educated by a professional. The movie BLISS explains the situation well, if you are interested. This movie stars Terrance Stamp as the trained professional. I detail in my book Orgasm For Life, what needs to be done, gently and slowly, with breath. A letting go process needs to happen.

Post-Menopausal Women

For women who have been through menopause natural supplements can be taken. To speed up the process an Estradiol ring can be placed within the vagina which stays in place for 90 days, emitting Estradiol. This relieves the pain and plumps up the cell walls.

Painful sex is not fun. If your partner experiences this, consider the options and talk about getting the help you need. As a young person, life without sex is not fully living. Once a woman has crossed the menopausal threshold, she may be okay without having sex. For me, it was not an option. I took steps to change the chemistry in my body. Once estrogen has been raised, having sex with regularity will keep the vagina young and healthy. Regular sex must occur after menopause to do this. Having sex once a month is not enough to keep hormone levels high enough in postmenopausal women. Sex must occur at least twice a week to keep the estrogen levels in range for sexual function.
