5 Ways To Keep That Youthful Glow By Aging Gracefully

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Aging gracefully is more than a spiritual experience, it is a way of life. If you want to turn back the hands of time, these five suggestions will help you remove the ravages of time not only from your face, body, and health but you will feel more vibrant, happy, youthful and alive!

Men before you leave this page thinking this isn't for you, think again. Men need to take care of themselves inside and out too. Men more than women are notorious for not taking care of themselves. Graceful aging is for everyone, no matter how old you are.

This October, I will turn 62. That's right, in less than two months I will celebrate and I mean celebrate my sixty-second birthday. I don't feel old; I feel eighteen inside. When other people tell me they are old, I tell them they can't possibly be because they are younger than me, and I am not OLD!

These photos were just taken, by Timothi Jane Graham in Pasadena California, August 21st, 2016.
None are airbrushed, or altered in any way. Nor have I had facial surgery, lipo, botox or any other such treatment.

No matter how old you are right now, aging is inevitable. How you live your life contributes to the way you look in your Golden Years.

Why should you care? Looking and feeling youthful, happy and vibrant is cause for celebration. Life is so much easier when you are happy, and feeling good. 40% of how you feel is up to you and what you do. When you take care of your soul, you begin to turn back the years. Your face softens, you radiate love from the core of your being.

I live alone, in the hot, dry desert of California. I have experienced lots of challenges and strife. I have had trauma, suffering and pain
both physical and emotional. Those issues no longer define me. I have overcome the past.

I am outside every single day, walking, dancing and playing in the desert sun. I go to the beach regularly, and I don't take drugs, medicines or any hormones to soften the ravages of time. It is what I do for my soul that keeps me young, ageless and timeless.

For years, I was on such a tight budget I couldn't afford expensive face creams or products to keep my face in tip top shape. Following are my recommendations for looking and staying youthful, beautiful and radiant well beyond your seventies and eighties whether you are alone, married or polyamorous and no matter your budget. Taking care of your body temple is a sacred act and daily practice.

Happiness more than anything is what has caused me to look younger now than I did five years ago. Working with me will help you get to happy!

1. Meditate daily. Even ten minutes to start is enough to get you going. Turn off your cell phone, music and telephone. Turn inward by sitting in silence focusing on the center of your chest, your heart chakra. Smile like Mona Lisa to your heart while you meditate. A smile to yourself shifts you. Meditation can help you remember things you have forgotten, it connects you with Source energy and puts you in a state of flow. Meditation will improve your ability to stay young because it reduces stress and softens you. Link to Divine Presence Process Meditation.

2. Do mantras daily. Mantras shift the brain to congruency. When brain waves are congruent we feel calm; stress is released, our body can heal itself. I had a tumor on the side of my thigh disappear in less than six weeks. Our body can heal itself when we give it what it needs. Our body and mind need stillness and quiet daily.

We create new neuro pathways with positive statements that we repeat silently in the background of our mind. Peeling carrots, cooking, driving, showering, walking, riding your bike, are all times when you can use a mantra silently without anyone knowing. Mantras can also be sung to music if you wish. An Indian Guru told me that mantras done silently are much more powerful than those out loud. When I began doing mantras silently, my mental chatter stopped completely. The craziness went away. A calm overcame my mind. Can you imagine a quiet mind?

3. Treat your body temple as your church. Would you defame, critique or destroy a church? Of course not. Constant self-criticism causes disease. Set healthy boundaries and respect yourself. Take care to get enough sleep, good food and nurture your soul daily. Drink plenty of water, avoid those substances that you know don't serve your highest good. Let food be thy medicine.

4. Your home is your sanctuary, keep it clean, orderly and free of arguments. Arguing in your home causes negativity to stick to soft furnishings. You lay your head on a pillow after an argument with your spouse, and you are sleeping on a pile of negativity. If you have disagreements, do your best to do your discussing outside of your home and especially your bedroom.

5. Know that The Universe and God always have your back. You are always supported by the Universe. Everything you need is always given to you when you trust.

Worry is a useless emotion, one I know quite well. Worry causes stress and ages you. Trust and faith will help you overcome worry. Remind yourself of this fact by repeating the following statement(s) upon rising and right before sleep. Meditating helps you stay connected and reminded of your Divine nature. I have included my video for you to help you get started. All it takes is seventeen minutes each day to feel loved and open to receive love. If you have difficulty with any of these, contact me for a private session to get connected and clear.

The Universe always brings me what I need exactly when I need it!

The Universe is always and in every way orchestrating my life for me.

The Universe always supports me.

Once we connect to our personal Divinity, we are never alone.

I want to hear from you. Did this article help you? What are you currently doing to age gracefully?

In Honor Of Self-Love Month I Gave Up CAFFEINE and Cookies!

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

I had a lovely morning ritual. Rise between 5:30 AM and 6:00, let my dogs and cats outside and brew my morning coffee. While I was feeding my menagerie, my coffee would be filling my kitchen with the rich aroma of roasted coffee beans. AHHHH! I loved my morning coffee. Like many addicts, I had my special way of preparing coffee. I drank mine with half and half.

Like narcotics and cigarettes coffee and caffeinated beverages are addictive substances that cause a slew of health problems from heart arrhythmia increased blood pressure and even bladder cancer. Don't get me started on energy drinks and kids! That is an entirely different article.

Coffee Is A Drug

Most people don't look at coffee as the drug that it is. Over 15 million Americans are hooked on coffee. I was one of them. Coffee was the first thing in my mouth and possibly the only thing I consumed for several hours. I often sat down with my coffee to write my blog or do a session with a client, topped off with a couple of Walker's shortbread cookies I was good to go! It got me revved up for my dancing routine in the desert. It kept me going late into the night when I was writing books or creating webinars for my clients.

I was aware that caffeine is a stimulant. I also knew that one cup of coffee has a half-life of eight hours. What does that mean? If you consume 16 ounces of coffee in the morning, eight hours later half of the stimulant is still circulating in your bloodstream. Caffeine causes your adrenal glands to push adrenaline through your bloodstream, causing adrenal fatigue. It is just like the fight or flight syndrome but happening daily.

Symptoms of Withdrawl

A coffee drinker might get a headache or even a neck ache from lack of caffeine in their system from missing just one cup of coffee a day. Irritation or anger can even result from caffeine withdrawal. Irritability and lack of focus for some coffee drinkers can result from just one cup of coffee a day.

Tea Has Caffeine Too

Some days I would drink two cups of coffee in the morning and begin drinking hot tea in the afternoon when the coffee would start to wear off with a few more shortbread cookies. If I got fatigued, I would continue to drink tea till I went to bed. One cup of tea has about half the caffeine as a cup of coffee.

The Downside of Caffeine

The average American consumes 26 gallons of coffee a year. Coffee and caffeinated beverages are linked to the following health issues.

  1. Infertility. If you want to become pregnant, stop drinking all beverages with caffeine.
  2. Birth defects. Women who consume caffeinated beverages during pregnancy are more likely to experience birth defects. I gave up all caffeine when pregnant. One drop of caffeine under a rat's skin caused death.
  3. Increases blood pressure and increases incidents of heart disease.
  4. Coffee and cola beverages have been linked to bladder cancer.
  5. Hip fractures. People who consume just two cups of coffee a day, or four cups of tea a day risk more frequent hip fractures later in life. A hip fracture can be the final decline in an elderly person. It certainly was for my Grandmother.
  6. Coffee spikes blood sugar; then it drops rapidly. This rapid drop in blood sugar is why people get the shakes after drinking coffee without eating.
How Did I Feel?

Once I made the commitment to give up all caffeine and sweets, I stuck with the program. The first day was fine. Day two, I had a headache and general malaise. By Day Three, I started getting flu-like symptoms, body aches all over my body. As an Intuitive, I am very tuned into my body. I felt the chemicals pulling from my upper back, thighs, and fatty areas.

Today marks Day Five and I recognized how much I missed the caffeine buzz that amped me up in the morning. I even considered, briefly having just one cup today. I realized how ridiculous that would have been as I am over the worst of the withdrawal already.

The Upside of Giving Up Caffeine

My lifestyle is quite clean. I was kidding myself thinking that drinking coffee was okay. It was like a dark little corner in my soul. I received frequent nudges from my Guides who often told me, "You need to give up coffee for your health." I know I am worth taking care of. I love and respect my body enough to treat it well. Giving up coffee and tea is my last vestige from my dark past stemming from my childhood.

I cleaned up my codependency. I no longer feel I need a man to feel whole or complete. I am complete by myself. YAY ME! I am done with my shopping addiction and a sex addiction. In fact, I have lived a celibate life off and on for almost two years. As far as shopping goes, I dislike shopping. This caffeine addiction is the last of a cascade effect from trauma. Most people who have childhood trauma have some form of addiction. Now I don't.

The Best Part!

I have already slimmed down and my cellulite is diminishing as we speak! I have a video I am working on to show my new dance workout that I do in the desert. I am delighted at how my body is looking after dancing daily. I have more energy and am sleeping better without the caffeine in my body.

My skin is more supple and less dry. My face looks plumper, like it has better hydration. This is a plus if you are concerned about wrinkles or aging. Caffeine ages the skin.

Health Benefits of Giving Up Caffeine

  1. Caffeine dehydrates the body tremendously. Not drinking caffeine means that water and fresh squeezed juices are all that I drink.
  2. Bones become less brittle.
  3. Skin looks hydrated, supple and younger.
  4. Cellulite is eliminated. Caffeine causes cellulite. Most people won't tell you the truth. Cellulite is caused by a rapid elimination of fluids from fat. Caffeinated beverages are diuretics.
Just how widespread is coffee drinking? The average American drinks over twenty-six gallons of coffee per year, but perhaps more germane to the discussion is caffeine itself. Coffee has over three hundred chemicals; caffeine is only one of them.v

The following chart is from the Mayo Clinic. The recommendation on their site is to use the caffeine content as a guide as the amount of caffeine can vary from day to day at the same coffee house, depending on distributors and brewing procedures.

Focus On This One Thing and Change Everything!

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

When I was disconnected from myself, insecure and feeling small there was one thing that I wasn't doing. When I discovered what it was, everything in my world shifted. Doing this one thing not just daily, but hourly I stopped being flaky, ungrounded and became fully present in the NOW.

What could be so powerful that it changes everything from physiology to being completely grounded in the present? Breath. You might think you are breathing. However, if you are holding your breath much of the time, or barely breathing you are missing the boat on something very profound and life-changing.

Since I healed my own insecurity and low self-esteem, I breathe with purpose. I breathe with consciousness. I focus on deep breathing. When I sit in meditation daily even though I use a mantra in the background of my mind (silently) I am focused on breathing deeply.

What Does Deep Breathing Do?

To help you understand what deep breathing does for you, I have to first explain what shallow breathing creates.

Shallow Breathing

When you are barely breathing, holding your breath when you witness your breath, or lay on a practitioner's table or even at bed before sleep shows how little you value you. Shallow breathing is barely living. Over time this shallow breathing will cause COPD, your lungs to shrink and become ineffective. You may end up on oxygen - which is counter productive. Oxygen is available to you in the air outside as well as inside your home.

Shallow breathing does not affirm life. Shallow breathing affirms a slow death. It means you don't value you. You feel insignificant and unworthy. This is what I help my clients with since I healed it myself. I understand your issues. I have been there.

Affirm Life

When you begin to breathe deeply you affirm life. You are telling The Divine, Source Energy, The Universe that you are important. You have value and that you love yourself.

Give Your Lungs A Workout

Expand your lungs when you breathe. Breathe in deeply filling your lungs as much as you can. Once your lungs feel full to capacity take another deep breath, hold your breath for four seconds, then exhale SLOWLY. Expanding your lung capacity with regularity will expand your life. Each deep breath you take affirms life. You are showing The Universe that you value yourself, and so you should.

Shallow breathing shrinks lung capacity. Like any muscle, a lack of use leads to atrophy and infective lungs. We need to give our lungs a workout and expand the capacity several times a day. You have most likely been breathing shallowly for decades. Changing this habit will take practice, every day. Focus on your breath when you sit and listen to your family members tell you about their day.

The Magic Of Breath

Breathing deeply does so many powerful and transformative things for you. You will begin to have much more energy. You won't tire so quickly. Your skin will look alive and have better color. The biggest thing that deep breathing does is bring you into the present, but it also increases levels of serotonin. Best of all air is FREE!

What Does Deep Breathing GiveYOU?
  1. More energy
  2. Better sleep
  3. Better erections
  4. Longer orgasms
  5. More satisfying sex
  6. Brings you into THE PRESENT
  7. Affirms life
  8. You feel less scattered
  9. It grounds you
  10. Oxygen for better organ function
  11. Better health
  12. Longer Life
  13. Best Anti-Aging Tool on The Market

Better Sex

Sex is so much better when you breathe deeply. Your body and pelvic region needs oxygen. Better than a little blue pill, breathe deeply for better sex and erections. Having richly oxygenated blood will help with erections, stimulation, and better longer lasting orgasms.

Slow The Aging Process

Breathing deeply gives your blood more oxygen. Oxygen is the fuel for your heart, cells, and healing. Without enough oxygen your skin sags, your eyes look dull and you age rapidly. Oxygen is the life-giving free fuel available to humanity and every living being on this planet. Use it fully. Affirm life. Slow the aging process down with oxygen filling your lungs to capacity with each breath.

Connect with me via e-mail to set up your private discovery session to see if you are a good fit for my work. I recommend daily meditation to help you breathe deeply and affirm life. We all need silence in our day to calm our mind activity and soothe our soul. If you feel you can't meditate, know I have taught Indian clients to quiet their mind and meditate when they absolutely said they could not in three months. Private sessions available to help you stay present, affirm life and begin to shed the self-critiquing and mind chatter that doesn't serve you. Join me in a state of living in bliss every day.

The Best Sex In Your 60's and 70's

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Do you ever wonder what sex will be like when you are in your golden years? With the millions of prescriptions filled for Viagra, Cialis, and other drugs for erectile dysfunction, many people wonder if they will be able to have sex in their 60's and 70's. You will be surprised at the truth.

What matters more than our sexual organs is what we do with our brain. The brain is the most important organ in our body which helps stimulate the sexual response. Thoughts about whether you can get an erection may be enough to prevent one. If you think it and believe it, you will create it. Positive or negative, our thoughts create our reality especially when it comes to sex. Famed researcher Gina Ogden reports from the results of her Isis study that the brain is what matters most.

Dr. Ogden's study had 3,810 participants both male and female, ages 18 to 86. She cites this study to show how men and women can use sexuality and spirituality to transform their lives. The study contains extraordinary information about how we might expand our view of love, lust, intimacy, nurturing, empathy, communication, safety, abuse, trauma, ecstasy, spirituality, religion and so much more. The study took ten years to complete after which time Oprah Winfrey interviewed Dr. Ogden on her show.

What I know to be true is that the better I feel about myself, my body, life, business and everything I do, the better sex becomes for me. As I have gotten older, I have become more comfortable in my skin, love myself completely. Although my body is not perfect, I am delighted with how I look. We don't have to have a perfect body to be happy with it. The more comfortable we are with ourselves, the more comfortable we are between the sheets naked.

When we can laugh at ourselves, have fun because we know who we are, have raised our children and are free from the worry of pregnancy, we can relax during sex. We aren't so worried about someone hearing us when we moan or are enjoying ourselves.

Aging does not have to be a negative experience. I see it as a coming of age, or coming into our own. If you don't love yourself and the way you look, I can help you with that. It is my specialty. Aging is not the biggest cause of erectile dysfunction as some would have you believe.

As we mature, we become wiser, freer and sure of what we like and don't like. We are more confident. We are more apt to talk about what pleases us as we get older, there is less at stake, we have fewer fears. We have often integrated spirituality into our lives.

The Findings In the Isis Sex Study:

1. Sexual response is multi-dimensional, including body, heart, mind and spirit. Sex goes beyond the physical performance to include what we think, feel and what sex means in our lives. This finding concurs with the latest neuroscience regarding sex and interactivity in our brains for both sexes.

2. Sex is embedded in relationship with ourselves, our partners and a power greater than ourselves (no matter what you call that power). The culminating energy of orgasm connects you to the universe, source energy and God. It also involves taking the risk to create intentions for our own sexual happiness - which is consistent with the most psychological and spiritual thinking.

3. Sex gets better as you get older, involving more laughter, play, fun, eye contact, sharing and less angst about societal and religious programming. This finding challenges current medical and pharmaceutical biases regarding the need for performance enhancing drugs. (More on this in my next article - did I tell you about my laughing orgasm after 59?)

4. This finding suggests that broadening our sexual horizons can help us transcend sexual wounds, guilt, shame, as well as debilitating cultural messages such as, "good girls don't" and "real men score." A multi-dimensional view of sexuality and intimacy encourages self esteem, promotes sacred union which is in alignment with the law of attraction about enhancing health and drawing positive energy into our lives.

Not Having Sex?

If you aren't having sex, you might want to re-consider. I have met many women who consider themselves holy because they are NOT having sex. Did you know that the universe and your higher power expands when you experience pleasure? Yes indeedy! The Divine experiences bliss when we do. Everything we experience the universe and our higher power experiences also. Living a life of celibacy shuts down the first two chakras and can create financial issues. To live your highest spiritual potential we need to be in Divine relationship with a partner, having sacred sex.

Relationships are how we heal our own lives, creating bliss, joy and complete fulfillment. Humans were created to enjoy pleasure, rather than deny themselves that joy.

Sexy At Sixty

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Aging is a state of mind. Today at 60 many people look like they are barely 40. When we eat healthy, live an active, positive lifestyle with meditation, mindfulness and great sex, we stay young well into our 80's.  There is no reason if you are healthy
not to feel sexy. Feeling sexy is a state of mind, just like feeling old is. Focus on happiness, mindfulness and meditation keeps us young. I tell my body, "Every day I am getting younger and younger." The mind is an amazing thing. At nearly 61, may people confuse me for a forty-year-old. I look younger now than I did in my 50's. I am not alone. Those who don't drink, don't smoke, eat healthy nutritious foods stay younger much longer than those who eat processed foods.

Mind over Age

There is no doubt that being happy keeps us looking young. One of the things I help women do is to be happy. When we are happy, fun-loving and open to new ideas, our mind stays fresh, alive and youthful. Our mind is an amazing computer for our bodies. When we upload negative software, our body ages quickly. When our software (thoughts) are loving, accepting and positive we stay young much longer.  I have met women who complained about everything and looked 20 years older than me, that did not believe me when I told them my age. Complaining, gossiping, griping, bitching and focusing on the negative, fighting with everyone in your life, will age you faster.

Our attitude is everything. With a positive attitude and a healthy perspective focusing on vibrant health, rather than illness and youthfulness rather than "growing old" also helps to program the unconscious mind. 90% of our thoughts happen without our knowledge. Allowing the unconscious mind to run amok allows us to fall into self-criticism and negativity. When we look at ourselves in the mirror and focus on how fat we are, fat is all we see. We fail to see the beauty that is there. The more loving you are to yourself, the more radiant the love is that shines out of your face, skin and energy field.
Our bodies go through change. Hormone production slow down. This drop in hormone production can slow down our metabolism, resulting in weight gain, or at least challenges staying at the same weight. As our hormones change so do our desires. Thinking about
sex on a daily basis, engaging in massage, touch and love-making regularly will keep your body supple, alive and passionate.

Having regular sex keeps the vagina supple and exercised. Without regular sex, the vagina will shrink and the tissue inside can become atrophied and tender. There are natural methods that are safe for post-menopausal women to use. I love the Vitamin Shoppe. They have a great selection of products at reasonable prices.

Libido

If our libido drops, there are so many things we can take safely that are plant-based to jump start our motors. My favorites are mentioned in my book, Orgasm For Life. I have used Horny Goat Weed and Steel Libido with excellent results. Steel Libido by Irwin Naturals helps with dryness which is a side-effect of menopause.

Natural Lubricant

My favorite lubricant is coconut oil. Olive oil works well also. Coconut oil has the added benefit of being an anti-fungal agent, good for inflammation and also works as an analgesic (Pain reducer).

We Were Meant To Move

Indigenous peoples move until they die. They don't sit in chairs or on a couch all day. Many people reduce their activity level as they grow more mature. Our bodies were meant to move well into our
Even after a knee replacement they are walking
80's and 90's. Staying active keeps our joints mobile and our hearts working with the added oxygen of exercise. We don't have to job or do aerobics. Swimming is the best exercises for working all our muscles. Walking is a non-contact sport, that keeps knees and arms moving. Getting outside in nature makes life worth living.

Oxygen and Lung Capacity

Many people are barely breathing. Not inhaling fully will result in a reduced lung capacity as you grow older. Shallow breathing is often a result of low self-esteem. Affirm life by breathing in deeply. Make yourself do this at least three times a day. Affirm, I LOVE
LIFE and breathe in. Slowly and completely exhale.

Yoga, dance, Zumba weight training all help to keep the body fit, alive and oxygen filled. Sex relieves stress, boosts our immune system and gives us a burst of feel-good hormones.

We might not look the way we did when we were 20, that doesn't mean we can't still kick our heels up and live a little, or a lot! Loving acceptance of you, your body and the process of life, rather than fighting with nature will allow you infinitely more joy. Thinking sexy thoughts, walking by the mirror and telling yourself, "You are still one hot mama!" Will shift your perspective. Nothing stays the same. Doing exercises will help keep your butt firmly in place and your mind much happier.

Although our libido may be non-existent at times (or maybe even all of the time) there are measures we can take to help our body stay supple and youthful inside. Using coconut oil, and a plant-based libido booster can shift your mind-body and your spirit will take over! Think sexy thoughts. Feel sexy. Buy yourself some new underwear that makes you feel sexy!

Testosterone Shots Found To Cause Strokes and Risk of Heart Attack

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

NEW FINDINGS!

Like Deja Vu, this article had appeared earlier. I closed the wrong tab and my first musings replaced the full article. Hence this one has been re-written. I apologize for my blunder. I don't keep copies - lesson learned.

Our health is important. Taking responsibility for our own diet and exercise is a big part of this equation. When we gain weight and become inactive, the results are not pretty for any of us. The less activity, the more depressed and unhappy we often become. For men, the aging process has some unexpected surprises. 52% of all men experience erectile dysfunction at some point in their lives.

Most men want sex. Some want it so badly that they will go to great lengths to perform for their woman. Most doctors are hesitant to push, or suggest testosterone shots because of the high risk of prostate cancer and heart attacks. 2.3 million prescriptions for testosterone were written in 2013. Recent deaths attributed to testosterone injections have caused a subcommittee of the FDA to do a full-blown investigation into testosterone injections.

I urge you to read all the facts before you take or continue to get hormone injections of any kind.

Of the men who were taking testosterone injections for "low T," in this study, nearly half were also taking cardiovascular medication to treat high cholesterol, blood clotting, high blood pressure and chest pain. All of these cardiovascular prescriptions can cause issues with erectile dysfunction. Anti-depressants have a similar effect on men and women as well. A loss of libido can result to the point where neither gender is interested in sex at all. Hopefully, if this occurs, your relationship has enough substance and love in your foundation that you understand and act compassionately towards one another.

Aging causes changes in our bodies. Both men and women experience changes. It is a well known fact that women go through menopause. During per-menopause, women experience  a drop in estrogen and progesterone. Fatigue, mood swings,
weight gain, loss of libido and depression are symptoms of menopause and peri-menopause. Knowing what is happening can help us understand, it is normal.

Men also go through hormonal changes that cause their body to gain weight as well as lose muscle mass. When women take hormones, they run the risk of breast cancer, cervical cancer and even lung cancer. Men run a higher risk of prostate cancer with testosterone shots.

Other known side effects of testosterone injections are kidney failure and even loss of vision. Yes blindness may result from long-term testosterone treatments.

Healthy Diet

The cornerstone of good health into our Golden Years is a healthy diet consisting of lots of fresh fruits and vegetables. Meat needs to be eaten in limited quantities, especially red meat. Hormones in meat today have created a food supply that has been tainted and changed to create an overweight society where diabetes and heart disease run rampant. Choosing healthy foods that we cook ourselves, rather than fast foods, and prepared or packaged foods is a healthier way to go.

Exercise

Keeping our bodies moving does more than keep our weight gain in check. Exercise also keeps our joints fluid, reduces stress and helps bring oxygen into our blood stream. The more sugar and sweet foods we eat, the more out blood clumps in our blood stream. Food additives that cannot be digested have no where to go, but our digestive tract and colon. They sit there waiting, brewing a concoction of toxins you would not want to swim in.

I recommend steering clear of packaged foods, fast food chains and sweets. Use healthy fats like coconut oil, olive oil and clarified butter over margarine or "butter substitutes." Read labels and avoid anything with corn syrup or high fructose. Our body cannot digest it - and it contributes to diabetes. Soft drinks and anything with sugar substitutes cause cancer. Avoid them all.

My family stopped drinking soda 15 years ago. Mexican soda is the only thing we Americans can get that does not have a sugar substitute in it. Foreign countries have banned the very ingredients that the FDA has approved for our consumption. We have to be
smart and read for ourselves. Just because it is easy does not make it good for you.

More greens, less sugar! Cook for yourself instead of rushing and just grabbing something to shove into your mouth. You are worth it. Treat your body as though your life depends on it, because it does!

Play Like Your Life Depends On It!

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Play is what happy people engage in. Play is what children understand and love to do.  Yet, as people grow older we often forget that play is still a large part of our lives. Life's circumstances and events can bog us down and create sadness, depression and rigidity that precludes play.

In my research for play, I googled the word happiness. 334,000,000 people have googled happiness. Obviously there is a thirst for this elusive thing called happiness. Since I reside in
this place of happiness, I will share with you my recipe for living in a state of joy and happiness. Yes, play is a large part of being happy.

Growing OLD Is Not An Option

We are ageless. Only our perception of aging or judgment of it is what makes us age. We can be young, with it, and playful till the day we die. This is how we maintain good health, and joy in our lives. Each year we have another birthday. The number of birthdays we have does not determine how we feel or even look. It is our judgment or feeling about aging that causes us to look old.

Your Inner CHILD is REAL!

Each of us has an inner child. The sooner you forgive yourself and apologize to your inner child for any wrong-doing or hurt caused them, the better. This inner child is ageless and always present. Connecting with your inner child will help you get in touch and reaquainted with the ageless part of you. Your inner child wants to play with you. Ask your inner child what they want to do. Often it is a trip to the beach, playing hopscotch, laughing through games or movies, or just a suggestion of something FUN!

What Happens When You Connect To Your Inner Child?

Magic! You ignite the fire of passion for living, joy and happiness. Connecting to your inner child is what will light the fire under your butt and get you out of your easy chair complaining about your crappy life.

When you stop complaining and begin to say thank you for being alive, you will also find other things that are wonderful to give thanks for. Instead of looking down, you begin to look up. Your spirits pick up. Depression lifts. A weight or burden will lift.

Forgiveness

While in Canada, I worked with someone with an enlarged heart and diabetes. His heart was broken very early. His lifetime career was a tough one, which needed a closed heart to go to work each day. Now almost 70, he needed to forgive himself and some others. He didn't want to. I assured him that this work was for him and him alone. He trusted and allowed me to work with him. In minutes a weight of a lifetime lifted and he began to cry. A man that had not cried in over 50 years! This crying allowed light in. It allowed stress to be released. It allowed him to tap into more joy, happiness and LIVING!

There is so much more to this act of play. I will continue later. Right now, I am heading for the airport and returning to the U.S. Remember play begins in your heart. With a closed heart you cannot really play. Begin giving thanks. Gratitude will allow more light in so you can open up to receive more GOOD!
