Are You Triggered By Your Partner

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

When our partner triggers us and we get angry or upset, we are the one with the issue. Yes, it is so much more fun to blame someone else rather than take responsibility for what we feel, but the truth is the truth. When we have a reaction, it is our issue, not our partner's. Who installed the triggers? Was it our partner? No. The people who installed the triggers are our parents, bless their little hearts!

Feel like you can't do this alone? Why not set up your personal discovery session with Jennifer to see if her work is a good fit and you would be a perfect client for her.

Feeling Unhappy In Your Relationship? Follow These 3 Steps For Resolution

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

We have all been there. We feel stuck, blocked and unhappy. Our sex life might be bland or non-existent, and arguments and strife might be what we consume for breakfast. It doesn't feel good to not be on the same page as our partners. The easiest way for us to feel better is to blame the other person. The problem with blame is it makes us a victim and as you know none of us are. We make choices
and are where we are because of the beliefs we have and the decisions made.

When we feel unhappy, we look to the other person as the source of our unhappiness. However, taking responsibility for where we are is something that each of us has to do to begin to shift our energy and change direction from negative thinking which blocks to gratitude and the downward spiral of negativity.

Responsibility is the key to healing.  JEM
Step One

Once we recognize that we are in blame, we have to change our focus and look for ways to resolve the mess we feel we are in. To solve a problem, we have to look at it from a perspective we haven't used yet. Begin by using a query to uncover the truth. Ask yourself the following questions and write your answers in a journal. I feel your resistance, and I get it. Writing involves a little inner work to get the clarity we need. Introspection and clarity will set you free and allow you to shift quickly. Basically, when we refuse to look inside it is because we are in denial of the truth using the small part of us (ego) believing we are right and the other(s) are wrong. Remember the reason we are in a relationship in the first place is to grow and evolve not stagnate and blame.
Journaling your answers also gives you a baseline to return to in a week, month or a year to see how far you have come.
  • Have I set healthy boundaries?
  • Have I kept silent about issues that upset me?
  • Have I griped, groaned and complained rather than looked for a solution?
  • Is my mindset negative?
  • Am I only seeing my partner's negative qualities and refusing to recognize their wonderful side?
  • How do I feel about myself? Am I overweight? Am I depressed? Am I complaining rather than living in a state of gratitude?
Step Two

Now that you have some insight, can you see what you can do to change the course of history and the way you feel? Our feelings are a barometer for the three "Cs." Clarity, Cour-Correction, and Congratulations. Once you feel better to take the time to congratulate yourself for recognizing your patterns. Old patterns mean we are living in the past and dragging it into your present circumstances. We can't evolve beyond where we are by living under the shadow of old stories, limiting beliefs and programming. Think of it this way, imagine watching Leave It To Beaver today or Little House on The Prairie. How do you feel? Those old television programs are like the old programs that are running your current day reality. We can choose something different. The way we change old programming is by choosing to respond differently.

It is not the event that causes the damage, it is our reaction and response to it that creates our programming
Step Three

Maybe you have an issue with your mother which also bubbles over into your current romantic relationship. Perhaps mommy is critical, cold and negative. Is she the problem? Maybe she didn't love you the way you wanted to be loved. The little you probably would say, "Damn straight she's the problem and always has been!" Remember what was stated earlier about taking responsibility? Blaming mommy (or anyone) makes us a victim. I know I did it for years. My mother was my kryptonite! I could be strong, powerful and authentic with everyone but my mother. When I was in my mother's presence, it was as if all my strength was drained from me. Why? Because I was operating with my small child Jennifer programming. I became the people-pleaser, making mommy happy. I used to do everything in my power to keep peace with my mother and keep her happy because I wanted her to love me. I even married a man because she told me to. My mother was so worried about what her friends would think about me living with a man. My mother was very worried about appearances. Appearance and keeping up with the Joneses is an ego-based program.

Worrying about what other's think of us is none of our business. JEM

What have you done to make your mother or someone else happy? What have you given up in the process? Are they any happier as a result of your cartwheels and twisting yourself into a pretzel? The truth is, no one can make anyone else happy. Our mother's happiness isn't our responsibility. Our spouse's happiness isn't our responsibility either.
  1. Be honest with yourself. How much energy have you spent attempting to do what other's wanted you to do? Stop wasting your precious energy and power on another person.
  2. Instead of staying mute use your words and voice to state what you want and don't want.
  3. Set healthy boundaries with others. Remember every day you are training others how you want to be treated. If you have allowed the behavior to continue, it could take a little time to retrain others. Be consistent. Think of the other person as a little puppy or a child. Each time someone attempts to get you to do something recognize the manipulation. Just say, "That doesn't work for me, it is not what I want for myself."
  4. Watch your emotional reaction to other people. Remember no one can "make you feel or do anything." You are in control of the way you feel.
  5. Don't stew or boil over what others do or ask of you. Remember your reaction to their requests, prodding or insistence doesn't have to continue. Tell them, "No, thank you."
  6. Get clarity on what you want and don't want. Most people are unclear about what they want and don't want which creates issues within relationships.
  7. Notice what you feel. If someone is pushing your boundaries, anger may bubble up. Anger is there for a reason so that we recognize when our boundaries are being crossed. We have to put our hand up and say stop.
  8. Until our behavior changes, we have not changed. If you are still doing and acting the way you did as a child you are responding with old programming.
  9. Move out of fear of the new and different knowing you are safe and worthy. What another person says or does is not who you are. No one defines you but you. Stand in compassion and self-love using the, "I LOVE ME," mantra.
The amazing thing about our brain is that it creates new synapses - hence new programs when we are consistent with new behavior. Mantras work when we use them consistently. We can reprogram hate, anger, shame, guilt, and all of our negative emotions to be different. In the past, my mother would feel illicit guilt from all of us kids. I stopped allowing her to "make me feel," guilty. If a program continues long enough, it is imprinted in our cellular memory.

Our cellular memory can be changed, I've done it. When we reprogram our cellular memory, we heal cancer, tumors, Fibromyalgia, auto-immune disease, anxiety, depression. All of it can be healed by thinking differently. Meditation, mantras and coaching will help you get there faster. It took me over thirty years on my own. When we want something different and are sick and tired of being sick and tired, we persevere every day. Working on ourselves isn't something we do here and there, it is a daily practice that changes our lives so that we have a magical life full of wonder, joy, and happiness; it is where I live and breathe every day.

Part of my work involves Telesummits where I have a 90-minute interview so you can hear me live and receive a free gift or purchase a package that is an incredible saving. I am involved with several Telesummits in the next two months. You Wealth Revolution and Radiant Intuitive Woman are the most recent. I'd love it if you joined Dee Wallace, myself along with 22 other powerful healers on the Radiant Intuitive Woman Summit happening right now.

Can't do this alone? You don't have to. Let's set up a time to talk. I'd love to hear about your situation and see how I can help. Send me an e-mail, and we'll set up a time to chat.

More Gratitude For Your Partner Leads to More and Better Sex

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Yesterday, I announced a 28-day challenge with the encouragement of prizes, to be more grateful for the good in our lives. I am doing this challenge with you. In fact, let's see how much good we can manifest as a collective. Today is the day I write a post about sex, so sex and gratitude it is!

Do you complain about not having enough? Not enough love, not enough sex, not enough cuddling, not enough touch. I am here to tell you that complaining isn't the way to get more of what you want. In fact, if you complain about not getting or having enough sex, affection or touch you can be sure that you will push any opportunities to have that yummy deliciousness you long for anytime soon.

Nagging about not getting what you want doesn't help. Think about it this way, when you last had sex were you grateful? Did you tell your partner how wonderful they were? Or did you roll over and drool over your pillow before the lights were out?

Join me in this 28-day challenge to get more! Yes, that includes sex. Find ways to encourage, romance, engage in conversation about what it is you want, rather than complaining. Be grateful for what you have to receive more of what you want. Feel grateful rather than resentful. Say thank you often and with feeling. Count your blessings today with the feeling of gratitude.

I want to hear from you. This next 28-days is for you to experiment. Instead of doing the same old routine, try something different. Be complementary of your partner. Tell her or him how beautiful they are, how wonderful they smell and feel. Thank them for being who they are and with you. Express your gratitude for the meals they prepare, packing your lunch or making the bed. See what unfolds.

Encouraging words reap more benefits than complaints. When we aren't in gratitude we are in lack. What you have can be taken away.

The Magic Formula: From Rhonda Byrne's book The Magic

  1. Deliberately think and say the magic words, thank you.
  2. The more deliberately you say and think the magic words thank you, the more gratitude you feel.
  3. The more gratitude you deliberately think and feel the more abundance you receive.
Gratitude is a feeling. The goal is to practice gratitude so that you FEEL it as much as you can.

Sir Isaac Newton's law is a one for one, what you give you receive. For every equal action, there is an equal reaction. That means if you increase your feeling of gratitude your abundance increases to equal that feeling.

See my blog from yesterday about the details. I have prizes for the best stories of change and transformation that you share. You can send me an e-mail or join the happy conversation on Face Book

There are prizes involved. Here are the details:

Our belief is what propels our success. Gratitude for what we experience is what keeps it coming. We have plenty to be grateful for that most people take for granted:

  • money
  • our paychecks
  • our clients
  • our health
  • our home
  • a roof over our head - home
  • food on our plates
  • being alive another day
  • breathing
  • our children
  • our children's health
  • our pets
  • our pet's health
  • success
  • love
  • relationships
  • family
When we complain about our circumstances, not having money and not having love or sex we push our good away from us. When we complain about our partner we aren't being grateful.  When we don't give our all then complain, our attitude takes a nose dive. When our attitude sucks, we can become like the Tasmanian Devil and wreak havoc everywhere we go which could cause us to lose our job our marriage, our children our cars even our money.

We have to turn our attention away from the circumstances of life and begin to say thank you for the money on its way to us, the love on its way to us, our vibrant health, our life, our ability to walk, move, see, touch, hug and love another.
Affairs happen when we aren't grateful
When we complain about our car, we have car trouble. When we complain about not having money, we have money troubles. When we complain about our spouse or partner, our relationship is in trouble. When was the last time you shared a wonderful story about your husband, wife, lover or best friend? Are you in the habit of sharing stories of woe instead?

When we aren't grateful for our health, we get sick.

Praise your partner, children and loved ones. Instead be grateful for each blessing you have in your life beginning with your health. Say thank you for your health, being alive, having clients, a job, a paycheck, money in the bank, the ability to pay your bills, rent, mortgage.

Manifesting Miraculous Moments

Part I
Gratitude is the key to everything good in your life
My challenge to you over the next 28-days is to write down the things you are grateful for right before you go to bed. Count your blessings each day. Name each one and why you feel grateful for it. Feel the energy of gratitude. The more you can feel grateful the more powerful the changes that occur. After counting all your blessings add 10 more to amplify the results and then say, "Thank you, Thank you Thank you!"

Don't skip a day as you will delay the good coming to you. If you must skip a day, go back three days and begin again. Skipping a day will slow the process and momentum you are building. You can do anything for 28-days. 28-days is enough to change your life, create a baby, make money from unseen sources, find more joy, happiness, success and bring more good to you.

Part II

Rhonda Byrne writes about a magic rock that you hold right before you fall asleep and say what the best thing was that happened each day while holding the rock. Set the rock down beside you on your bedside table. Each night before falling asleep holding the rock and say out loud what you are most grateful for today. This rock begins to vibrate with gratitude as you just look at it. Rocks are living things and emanate a vibration.

Today is January 3rd. 28-days takes us all the way to January 30. I will announce the winners on January 31st.

I invite you to share your stories of success, challenges and whatever you begin to notice as you change this one habit which brings more good into all areas of your life. Send me an e-mail to keep me updated. If you wish to have your success or insight shared on my blog, say so, and I will gladly share your insight and magnificence with my readers. Join the discussion on FaceBook and receive encouragement and support for your effort!

I am doing this with you and began writing my list of gratitude last night. My son's girlfriend, Mel gave me a small amethyst rock for Christmas that I am keeping by my bedside table. You can use any rock that is small enough to hold in your hand.

Over the next 28-days, I will tell you personal stories of complaining - versus gratitude and what the derisive negativity of complaining does in each area of our lives. I'll also share our reader's insights about gratitude and stories as they come in. What have you got to lose? You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!

Does It Really Need To Be Said?

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Today we can deliver a devastating message within seconds. We can speak directly to a person in front of us, send a text or phone message. Once words are spoken, we can't remove the memory. Do we really need to say all the things to another that we think we need to?

When we say hurtful words to another, they may forgive us, but the memory lingers along with the hurt feelings. When hurt feelings remain, we tend to recoil, and not allow those we love to see our vulnerable side any longer. Our mind tells us stories that may or may not be true. We react instead of being the witness. We may protect our heart and feelings, which closes the door on intimacy and closeness.

Do we really need to say everything we think? Here are a few examples of words I have heard others say to their loved ones:

  • You're crazy!
  • You're insane!
  • You're fat
  • You are an idiot
  • How stupid can you be?
  • What's the matter with you?
  • Oh, that was a joke, I didn't mean it.
  • You sound just like your mother.
  • You are acting just like your father!
Saying something in jest and attempting to cover it up by saying "Just kidding," is a form of abuse. Sarcasm and kidding about someone's weight or intelligence aren't funny. Sarcasm has no place in a loving relationship and is passive aggressive. It is our reaction to life's events and words that cause us the pain and suffering.

Rather than attacking someone and pointing out your loved one's flaws ask yourself why is it so important to you to lash out in such an unaccepting way? Sometimes, the reason we point out another's flaws is that we are scrutinizing our own or because we are hurt. We all have flaws.

Ask Yourself The Following Questions:

Are you responding in ways that your family did?
Are you running your dysfunctional parent's energy?
Are you responding in an automatic way, rather than a conscious way?
Am I being triggered by something similar from my past?
When did you feel this way in the past?
Is there something old and familiar about this interaction?

Coming into loving acceptance of our weaknesses and shortcomings is what self-love is all about.

How To Communicate In Loving Ways

We all get our feelings hurt from time-to-time. Staying grounded and breathing through our emotions can allow the emotion to pass through us. We don't want to stay angry or resentful, but rather release our emotions to stay physically healthy. Holding onto anger and resentment can cause depression and serious illness. Long-standing anger and resentment cause cancer.

Here we are in the middle of time together with family, friends and loved ones. When we are with family members, tempers can be shortened, and buttons pushed. We need to be able to take a step back from our emotions and speak with compassion rather than anger.

Remember those words that we fling in anger or even in jest, will long be remembered after the gift wrap is picked up and all our family members have returned home.

Do You Make Everyone Else's Happiness Your Responsibility?

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

I remember Christmas when my children were little. I was careful to buy equal priced gifts for each child. No matter how hard I tried, my oldest son always felt disappointed. Even when I spent more on him, he felt disappointed, as if I could never give him enough.

I felt my stomach sink each year as the presents were unwrapped and the bows and ribbons picked up and thrown away. I made my son's happiness my responsibility. I used to be so concerned about what others thought and how they felt about me

When we put conditions on our happiness, we block our ability to be happy. Sometimes we are self-destructive and don't even know it, which leads to even more challenges in our lives.

When we make statements like the following:

  • I'll be happy when ______________(I'm in a relationship, am at the perfect weight, have the perfect job, have _____ money, move to a different location.
  • We'll be happy when we're married.
  • We'll be happy when we have a (or another) baby.
  • I'll be happy when all my family is together.
  • I'll be happy when I'm retired.
  • I'll be happy when I can have sex.
..... we block our happiness.

Happiness comes from you, not an outside circumstance. When we don't love ourselves completely, we place conditions on our happiness. We make other's happiness our responsibility. No amount of presents will fill someone up that is running on empty. Love has to come from within to fill us up and make us feel loved.

The Truth

No one can else make us happy. Happiness doesn't come from material things like a house, new car or clothes. Material things bring us fleeting rushes, but not permanent happiness. A relationship might bring excitement to you at first, but if you aren't happy with you first, it can bring you more pain.

Thinking that making others happy will bring you happiness is putting their happiness ahead of yours. Each person is responsible for being happy with themselves. Happiness comes from being happy with who we are as we are.

How Do We Get Past This?

I understand, I really do. For half of my life, I was miserable with low self-esteem, anxiety, depression and a slew of failed relationships. Because I didn't respect myself, others didn't respect me either. I attracted men who wouldn't value me because I didn't value myself. I didn't love me and lived in denial of that fact, so the men I loved cheated. I kept attracting men who were emotionally unavailable because I was also. It was far easier to point out the other person's flaws and faults than to see my own.

Since I grew up with criticism in my household, I was critical of myself and others. It wasn't until I was told how negative I was that I began to see how crippling my thoughts and words to myself were. It took an outsider to make me aware of how I was creating my world.

The Magic of Self Love

Our outer world is a magical mirror that reflects our innermost unconscious thoughts back to us. Until we begin to awaken, we don't notice how much damage we create to ourselves with the words and thoughts we think.

How I Work With You

There are several ways I can help you to move beyond anxiety, depression, and unhappiness. Energy work, healing your field and removing the patterns and blocks to love, or hypnotherapy sessions. In my coaching sessions, I use all of my tool boxes, of The Akashic Records, coaching, intuition, healing, energy and hypnotherapy. In two hypnotherapy sessions, I can help you permanently change the way you feel about yourself. Hypnotherapy is a powerful healing modality that reprograms the unconscious mind to think in positive instead of negative ways.

Beliefs

Our beliefs created from early childhood traumatic events govern our adult life unless we change them. Beliefs could be:

  • I am unlovable
  • I am unworthy
  • I am not valuable
  • I am not heard
  • I am not respected
  • I am not worth loving
  • No one will ever love me
  • People will reject me

Begin Today With A Mantra To Heal Your Mind

I am strong, powerful, harmonious, loving and happy!

I am lovable
I am worthy
I am loved
I am safe
I am secure

We can only make ourselves happy. Working on our inner self is the key to being happy with our outer world. I wish you the happiest of holidays whether you celebrate Kwanza, Christmas, Hannuka or Hajj, and so much love!

Work with Jennifer to find the love inside of you so that you can have the relationship of your dreams. Whether you are currently in a relationship or not, Jennifer will help you find the love wherever you are helping you shift your perspective to be happy and fulfilled.
I love you!
Jennifer

We Have A Groovy Kind of Love

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Relationships are what we make them. The happier we are with ourselves and more in love with life, our world and who we are, the better our relationships become. Saying yes, rather than no makes you infinitely more approachable opening you to the infinite possibilities of the beautiful universe.

I am an expert at relationships because I have had all kinds of them. I know what works and what doesn't. I counsel and guide both women and men of all ages on happiness which is the foundation for a balanced relationship. Sometimes we get stuck and need someone to untangle our upsets and help us get back on track, which is what I help couples and singles do. We get triggered by our partners, friends and family and may blame the person who pressed on our sensitive button from past events.

Once we are happy with ourselves everything including our relationships improve. Our biggest problem is feeling that others owe us something or having expectations of others that are too high.

How To Release Your Partner From Bondage

We expect someone else to make us happy. Let go of waiting for happiness to come from outside of you. It doesn't. Leaving one relationship and jumping into another won't do it if you aren't first happy and in love with yourself first. If you don't love yourself first, how can anyone else love you?

Shift Your Perspective

 1. Do life differently. Loving life means having some adventures along the way.Take a different route to work. Invite a friend to join you for lunch and let them know how much they mean to you. Love comes in all different colors, sizes, and shapes. Friendships, family members, and pets all bring love into our lives.

Cook naked! Eat dinner on your patio or take a walk somewhere you've always wanted to go. Make life a joy by changing up your old familiar patterns by feeding your partner juicy fruit in bed. Enjoy each moment, we never know how many we have left.

2. Have some fun. Doing the same thing, in the same way, every day leads to boredom, rather than a love of life. Incorporate fun,
and happiness into your day. Plan to meet with friends in person, rather than by text. Seeing others face-to-face so you can hug them, see their response and touch them is infinitely more fun that talking or texting. Play board games, rather than being bored with life. Make life a game!

3. Enjoy nature every day. Our earth is full of surprises and joy. We need to get outside to witness the beautiful and the magical daily. Trees and plants have a consciousness and will return love to you. Try it, hug a tree, tell it you love it and feel what comes back to you.

Love is groovy when you make life more interesting and fun. Change up your routine and enjoy the love of your life, even if you are the one on the receiving end!

Jennifer isn't just a coach. She is a multi-faceted powerful healer and vibrational light worker that clears past patterns of negativity,
trauma, and abuse so that you can feel comfortable in your own skin, anxiety-free with a clarity and peaceful inner being so you can be happy with you. When you are happy with you everything in your life becomes one of ease and Grace.

Get your FREE 30-minute session with Jennifer to find out if her work is a good fit for you. Book your session with Jennifer right now and become happy with yourself and your life so you can attract a healthy high-quality relationship instead of someone who mistreats you.

How Trust Can Deepen Your Bond and Improve Sex Exponentially

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Women need to trust their partners to relax, let go and tap into their wildest fantasies and passion. When trust is present women will feel free to express, explore and offer new and different experiences to their partners. Without trust, some women may not be able to reach orgasm or even relax completely.

Trust is a big issue in relationships. There are many ways to build trust between two people. You will be surprised at how easy it is to create trust. However, the caveat is that trust can be eliminated forever when promises are broken or your actions don't match your words. Trust is a two-way street. Both parties must be honest and live up to their commitments. If you aren't consistently honest, no matter how trustworthy the other person is, trust cannot be created.

Sex is an intimate sharing. Great sexual experiences require a woman to feel safe, respected, adored, admired and loved completely. Men too will experience the ability to be more vulnerable and open when they trust their partner. Intimacy becomes deeper when trust is present.

How To Build Trust

  1. Say what you are going to do and do what you say.
  2. Honor your word.
  3. Only commit to what you know for sure you can deliver.
  4. Communicate! Frequent open communication builds trust. When communication is poor, trust is broken. Poor communication is the biggest reason for relationships not working.
  5. If you can't live up to your promise let the other person know immediately.
  6. Be honest. Telling the truth about what is going on with you can lead to understanding and even compromise. Telling the truth even when the news is bad will increase trust.
  7. Trust is built through small events. Each event leads to greater trust. When trust is present your partner will go to the ends of the earth to support you.
  8. Show that you care. When you exhibit caring others see it, feel it and will give you caring and compassion in return. Caring for your partner's needs exhibits and open heart rather than selfishness. When you show a lack of caring others feel it and will sound an alarm; look out you can't trust this person!
  9. Do the right thing. We trust those who are in integrity.
  10. Admit any wrongdoing immediately. When you can admit you are wrong you build trust. People trust others when they recognize you are honest no matter what. When you can't admit your guilt your ego is running the show. People with large egos usually are selfish, self-centered and can't be trusted.
  11. Don't make excuses for your actions. Excuses diminish trust quickly.
  12. Never strike, abuse, berate or put down your partner. Once physical and emotional violence is present trust will not return. Even the threat of violence is abuse.
It is the small things that build trust. Calling to tell your partner you will be late because of traffic builds trust. Not calling and arriving late causes friction, shows disrespect and isn't honoring either of you. Consistency is key to keep trust on the forefront, rather than the back burner. Be a good communicator giving updates along the way.

Communication is what is needed by voice, with eye contact and your undivided attention. Glancing at your cell phone during a conversation negates trust. Not allowing your partner to see your phone or texts negates trust.

Women need to know they are safe in and out of the bedroom. Most men are far stronger than women. Knowing a man can overpower you can be enough to make some women feel unsafe if they have been abused in the past. Yes, some women are abusive to their men as well. Physical violence has no place in a loving relationship.

I Want To Know What Love Is

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

For so many people today, heartache and pain are what they think of when they think of love. Why is that? Why do relationships cause us such issues? We want to be loved, or do we? Sometimes I wonder because I see people pushing love away. Our fear of being hurt causes us to push the very thing we desire away. I have done it too.

When we have traumatic experiences in our past, and everybody does, we hold the energy of the past in our cellular body. The emotions from the breakups, nasty divorces, and horrible dates in our tissues. Until we can let go completely and forgive those who we perceive have hurt us we really can't experience love because we have a wall built which keep us from allowing a new person close to us.

We can't be vulnerable and risk everything when we experience fear. Fear blocks us from letting go, and able to receive love.

I know from my past experience that I wasn't authentic for most of my life. I acted like I thought others wanted me to be. I faked it. I faked orgasms; I faked happiness, I faked being. When I finally let go of caring what others thought of me is when I recognized I liked myself and it didn't matter what anyone else thought. My self-esteem came from me, not from the validation I had previously desired from my mother or others.

Healing our past allows us to become completely naked in front of another. The naked I am talking about is the ability to be completely vulnerable and seen by our partner, naked with our clothes. Most people wear a mask and don't allow someone new to see the real person under the subterfuge. Our fear of not being accepted for who we are keeps us acting the way we think our date wants us to be.

When we aren't authentic at the beginning of a relationship, our relationship is doomed to failure because eventually, we have to let our guard down and be real. When we finally show up, our partner will wonder who the heck they fell in love with? Authenticity is the key to feeling and receiving love. Until we can be real with another, we are faking life and not going to receive real love.
Softening And Becoming Real

The softer and more authentic we can be, the better. Our relationships build trust when we are authentic. The fear of not being liked or loved is from the past. When we love ourselves, the experience of receiving love from another isn't so scary.

Letting go of the false pretenses and faked orgasms allow us to sink in to be grounded in our true self. If someone doesn't like who we are - NEXT! There will be someone who does. Don't waste your precious energy trying to be someone you aren't to be loved. If you have to turn yourself into a pretzel to find love, it isn't real. The more you that you can be, the more real your relationship will be also. All relationships have some conflict.

We aren't going to always agree with one another. Thinking that love means a relationship without conflict is a fairy tale. Knowing how to communicate lovingly when those challenges arise is one of the facets of my work. I help couples navigate the sticky situations and complexities of relationships. Being fearless certainly helps, and that is certainly something I help my clients be.

Dumbing It Down

When we act less intelligent, or less sexual than we are, we are attempting to dumb down the truth of ourselves. We are faking it. I faked it with one of my husbands. He was insecure about himself and his sexuality. He wasn't ready for a woman who was passionate, and powerful. I had to hold back and act like a Puritan. He was a macho man who had to be in charge. We didn't click at all. Our marriage was volatile because of the constant power struggle.

Afraid To Be Alone?

Many fish in the sea!

There are other options than to attempt to be someone you are not just to try and make this relationship work. When we let go of one relationship and allow ourselves to be seen, it won't be long before a new love comes along that takes you to a higher place where you can connect to the depth of your soul. There are lots of fish in the sea. Find the right fish for you. Don't settle for less. You deserve love. You deserve to be loved for who you are, as you are. Of course, the flip side of the coin is that we have to accept our partner as they are as well.
