How To Find Happiness

What if I was to tell you that everything you ever dreamed of was possible? What if I was to tell you that you already have arrived? You already have everything you need. It is closer than you think.


Most people search for happiness as if it is at the end of the road somewhere. Many look for happiness through the success they might achieve in their work. Others look for happiness in their next relationship, sexual encounter or even in a new car or home. Some confuse pleasure with happiness.


Happiness is a state of well-being and contentment. 

Pleasure is a feeling of satisfaction, gratification, and enjoyment.

Why You Haven't Got It Yet?

The problem with searching outside of yourself for joy, bliss and happiness is that you are barking up the wrong tree. Thinking that something other than you will bring it to you is the issue. Happiness is already within you. You just have to choose it.

You Have The Choice Everyday

Happy people know what makes them happy. They focus on those things daily. Winning the lottery isn't it either. Happiness is a breath away. Make the choice to choose happiness. Instead of focusing on all the bad things happening in your world right now, try looking at the good that is in your life. The following will help you determine that you already have these things within you, you have just been focusing on the wrong direction.

What Makes You Happy?

Write a list of the things that bring you happiness. Happiness is different than pleasure. Pleasure is what you feel when you have an outside experience, eat something delicious, or experience bliss through sex. Happiness is a feeling that bubbles up from inside, from
seemingly out of nowhere. It can happen when you connect with a friend, send someone a card or gift. Happiness can be just enjoying some time with family, friends or your dog. 

For me, it is being outdoors, dancing in the desert, connecting deeply with my Divine. My connection to nature and God has a lot to do with the state of joy and happiness I am in every day. Happiness is with me wherever I go, no matter where I am and no matter who I am with. My happiness is a state of being from inside of me. I cultivated it over time.

What Can You Do RIGHT NOW To Be Happy?


  1. Decide. Once you decide you will not let outside influences mar your day, you choose to focus on being happy. 
  2. Choose Happiness every day.
  3. Look for the silver lining. When something goes wrong, know that something better is on it's way to you.
  4. Look Up! There is always light above. When we spend time looking down at the bleakest of circumstances, we focus on what we don't want rather than what we want. The sun is up in the sky shining somewhere. 
  5. Notice the beauty around you. Nature is amazing. Nature grows from within, so do you. 
  6. Be grateful. Gratitude will instantly shift you when you tap into your heart and are truly grateful (not just going through the motions). 
  7. Forgive everyone! This is one of Louise Hay's famous tenants. It is what I live by. You can't be happy if you still feel hatred, anger or resentment towards an ex, your parents or anyone who has every hurt you. Let it go. It doesn't mean that you are diminishing what happened. Forgiveness is for you. It releases you from the burden of the past.
  8. Love yourself! The greatest gift you can give to yourself and the world is the love of yourself. If you can't find a reason to love yourself, see number 9 below.
