Is Intolerance Keeping You From Love and Happiness?

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Opposites attract. There is a reason that we are attracted to those that are different from us; it is due to the survival of our species. Our natural tendency is to be attracted to those who are not exactly like ourselves. Once we find a partner, we then begin to force-fit them into our little view of what they need to be for us to be happy

What if your intolerance of another's differences is keeping you from having the love you desire?

You may be searching for:

  • Spiritual but not Religious
  • Healthy but not a Vegan
  • Fit but not a gym rat or bodybuilder
  • Attractive to you, but not a model
  • Tall not short
  • Financially stable, not bankrupt
  • Little baggage rather than a steamer trunk full
  • Healed rather than addicted or co-dependent
  • Active rather than a couch potato
  • Curvy and comfy
  • Animal lover, but not a rescue mission
  • A hard worker, but not a workaholic
  • Single, rather than divorced
  • No children, rather than a nursery full
  • Someone with high energy like you
  • Someone quiet, rather than chatty
  • A sense of humor, but not rowdy

The truth is that there is an ocean of opportunity in the dating world for love. Often we turn away from those who could be a great partner. We are so focused on what we think they should be that we can't see their greatness.

There are other issues you might attempt to match with your vision of what your best mate criteria could be. You might say, "Hell NO!" to someone who is a great match but lives more than fifty miles from you. You might turn down someone who was younger or older than you thought you wanted. What if you turned down someone who might be an excellent match for you, but different than the partner you pictured for yourself?

Dating is an opportunity. Each date leads you one step closer to having the love you desire. You might date someone for a few days, weeks or even months before you recognize that something isn't quite right but you had a great time exploring and allowing yourself to learn more about yourself and the dating process. Every date is another chance to grow and have a little fun along the way. Give each person a chance, rather than judging a book by it's cover.

Be Open Minded

Trying different things can stretch you and help you grow and evolve. Dating people who are outside of your comfort zone can give you new opportunities to explore possibilities for a healthy relationship. If you keep dating the same type and your relationships don't work out, maybe it is time to expand your limited vision of what is best for you.

Someone doesn't have to be just like you for you to find happiness.

Think Outside The Box

Once you know what your core values are, you can look beyond the type of person you have in the past. If your core values match, you can expand beyond what you think is good for you. The very type of person you have been avoiding could be what is best for you.

Maybe you don't accept yourself and are therefore not accepting other's differences.

Ask Yourself The Following Questions:

  1. Am I expecting my date/partner to be perfect?
  2. Am I open to new opportunities?
  3. Am I the very thing I am looking for already - in a date/partner?
  4. Are my expectations too high?
  5. Am I being intolerant of other's differences?
  6. Am I pushing love away by saying no to a new experience?
  7. Am I a perfectionist and expecting too much from another?

Following are some suggestions of how you can remain true to your values and expand your horizons to allow more opportunity for love.

  • besides Spiritual, there is Hindu, Buddhist, Mindful and more
  • beyond white collar, there are tradespeople, techies, and entrepreneurs
  • animal lovers,  volunteers, humanitarians
  • adventurers, homebody, a little of both
  • divorced, widowed, single
  • has some issues, but working on them

We All Are Works In Progress

Life is a journey. Not everyone you date will be right for you. Knowing what you want and staying open may take you on some twists and turns. Enjoy the journey. You might have to date ten different people to find the one you feel is a great fit for you. That's okay.

Have some fun on the twists and turns. Bank with the curves and laugh at yourself while you change and grow during the process. That is what life is all about having fun along the way. Just remember that no one is perfect or without their own flaws and faults.

Accepting another as they are is what real love is all about.

Each day we take one more step on that road of life we can stop and sniff one flower here another
there meeting new flowers on that road. Putting yourself out there allowing some risk taking is how you find love. If you are only focused on one type of person or your expectations are too high, you may find love continues to elude you. We all have quirks, chinks in our armour and have had heartbreaks and even divorces.

Look for someone who is open-minded and working on themselves, as you are and you will be surprised at the doors of opportunity for love that open to you. Say YES! instead of no and you will find love.

When God Calls Your Name

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

I have been asked why I write about sex all the time, and don't I get tired of it? Although I enjoy sex, I didn't begin to write about sex until 2013. I had to move beyond what I thought I needed to be doing and really step into my soul's purpose.  As a spiritual teacher, healer, sharer of what I know or have experienced; I used to write about Spiritual subjects, Metaphysics, Universal Laws and Truth. I share my secret of what changed for me in this article.

What is Metaphysics, you ask? Well Grasshopper, this is difficult to define completely, but I will do my best. Metaphysics is a traditional branch of philosophy, which studies the state of being, the world, and all that encompasses it.You could say it is the study of the unseen, including space-time, universal laws, cause and effect, understanding the world and how life works.

Our sexuality is the core of who we are. Humans are sexual beings. We experience God through sex when we have an orgasm. Even those who don't believe in a higher power, still experience a touch or fleeting glimpse of The Divine at the time of orgasm.

In 2012, while standing in my kitchen in Boulder, Colorado, I was told "Write a book about sex." I said, "You must be kidding me! Why sex? I help people love themselves." Then I was told: "Millions of people are motivated by sex. They will come to spirituality through sex, your way is not reaching enough people fast enough!

I had studied the Akashic Records in Bali, several years before and learned to channel information from The Divine Mind. Who told me? It was not my guides, it was not a deceased ex-husband or friend. It was not my father. I have and continue to communicate with those on the other side. But this was a different voice. I have only heard this voice three other times. I felt it to be the voice of God.

The Voice Of God?

When people ask me, how can you tell the difference? Here is what I know. My guides speak to me in gentle soft tones. They whisper to me. Their voices are suggestive, offering kind hearted, loving advice. They don't demand. They don't command. They show up in my sessions with my clients. Often my client's guides speak to me as well. Their words float in and out quickly. If I don't share them immediately, I don't remember what was said. Think of it, ordinary people back in biblical times heard the voice of God. Do you think that God has stopped speaking to people, because it is no longer being recorded?

What I Know Of God

God is everywhere in everything. In a tree, a bunny, a flower, a particle of dirt. There is no place that God isn't. God is in a newborn baby, the man dying in the street, the homeless man begging on the street corner. God is everywhere. God is always
present, always growing. God learns and grows through our experiences. Each and everything that we experience God does also. God is infinite, ever expanding and ever loving. God wants us all to experience, grow and evolve. God does not want us to suffer, but allows us to have our own experience of life. God does not judge, criticise or condemn. God LOVES. God is.

God flows through us all
When I hear God speak it is commanding, strong and very powerful. Do I have to do what God tells me to? No. But that would be really stupid. When we follow our guidance we are affirmed, and rewarded. When we don't, we suffer the consequences. When God speaks to us it is only of things that are really important. Life changing, earth shattering or devastation. I have written about the times that God has spoken to me. Here they are again:
Alpharetta, Georgia - For Heaven Scapes, Ltd.

  1. "Get rid of your stuff or we will do it for you!" I used to be a packrat. I was bogged down by papers, files from over 30 years, photos, belongings, clothing stuffed into closets, dressers and boxes, furniture, equipment, memorabilia, wedding photos from several marriages..... plus a barn full of more equipment, landscaping materials from old projects and jobs. I heard this warning from several psychics, then very loudly in my head.
All this stuff was dragging my energy down. I was being prepared for several big moves to get me out of Georgia, to Colorado and then California. I could not possibly have made those moves dragging all that paraphernalia. I would never have dropped it all or sold it in the time I had. (More on this in my first blog. Manic Move To The Mojave Part II The Magic Begins) When we hoard stuff, we also are an emotional hoarder, handing onto old hurts, pain, suffering and keeping score. That was the old me.
  2. "Move your truck and trailer before you leave today." I moved my truck and trailer as told. Got out and asked, "Is this okay?" I was told, "We can work with that." My truck and landscaping trailer had been parked under three 100 year old oak trees. I had just picked up some beautiful dry firewood for the winter. My daughter and I were about to visit our friend, Diana (now on the other side). Diana lived 70 miles away in the North Georgia mountains in Sautee. We were spending the night with
    Author Diana Davis
her that night, leaving my dogs at home. When we returned the next day. There had been a terrible storm, so bad that two of the big, old oak trees fell upon the house, knocking the house so hard, one of my dogs jumped out of the window screen. Had I left my truck and trailer where they were parked, they both would have been destroyed. As it turned out one tree narrowly missed my truck and trailer by 6 inches.
  3. "BOULDER! BOULDER! BOULDER!" After losing everything I owned, because I DID NOT get rid of all my stuff, so they had to do it FOR ME..... I was living in a small basement apartment with furniture that my ex husband loaned me. I heard the words, Boulder three times. They were also shown to me in big block letters to that I would get it. I was very stubborn back then. I was afraid of what my ex would say. He was very determined to say the least and wanted our daughter to be educated at this pristine high school in Milton, Georgia. It was a very affluent school, that I never liked because Ariel fell through the cracks. She was neither affluent, nor gifted. She was seemingly "challenged." She did not fit the
Milton HS profile. She was told by a counselor that she would never go to college, at Milton. She was also humiliated by another counselor in front of her whole class, after moving to our little basement apartment just a week before, I left for Bali. She did not know her address and the counselor made her cry for being so, "Stupid!" "At her age, how could she not know her address!" Within 2 weeks Rich and I both moved independently of each other, after living in Georgia for almost 30 years. He went to North Dakota to work in the oil fields. I was concerned at that time, that this move and work would kill him. It did.

In my early 20's, before I really embarked upon a spiritual path (so I thought) I was flaky and fearful. I was insecure. All over the map. I didn't have a focus. I was unclear as to my purpose and certainly not connected to God, or my guides. I saw spirits but was terribly fearful of them back then. My mind chatter was incessant. When mind chatter fills the recesses of our mind, we can't hear our guides. We certainly can't hear God.

It was at this time that God called my name. It was very loud. I thought it was my father. Because when I asked myself, who was that, the answer in my head was, "your father." I was standing out in the middle of a field in Ontario. My parents had 10 acres attached to a track of land, where I could walk for miles. I ran back to my parent's house asking did dad call me? My mother said, "I don't think so." I found my father and asked him, "Did you cal me?" "No," was his response. I continued to ask him, c'mon Dad, I heard you!" "No, it wasn't me!"

Why?

One of the questions we are told all the time is, never ask why? Will I ever learn why God called me back then. Yes, but then it won't matter, will it? So it is not a question I focus on. Most likely, I was called because I was not doing what I needed to do. I was not focusing on me. I was focused instead on what others were doing, saying or had. Instead of being focused on the inner, I was completely focused on the outer. I missed the point of life. I did not recognize my own worth, purpose or Divinity.

Once in California, I had been given the title for my new book, Orgasm For Life. I sat in meditation. I told you I was stubborn. I asked, "God if you really want me to write a book about orgasm, please give me a clear sign. I stepped outside and looked up into the sky and this is what I saw. I don't think it could have been any clearer than that!

How We Are Guided

We are guided by outside circumstances and situations as well as our inner guidance. When a door closes in one direction, we turn and a window opens somewhere else. My landscape business was slowly becoming more challenging for me in many ways. I had mold in my house and lost everything. I had very little in the way of personal possessions after that. When I was told to move to Boulder, Colorado, I did so. Sometimes we go somewhere thinking we are there for one reason, when the actual reason is something entirely different.

When we trust our guidance we find that there are multiple reasons for doing the things we do, not just one.

I now know, I was led to pull Ariel out of school in Georgia because that school was diminishing her self esteem. She did not belong there. She needed a stronger spiritual grounding and real friends, which she found in Boulder.  We moved to Boulder, Colorado so that my daughter could have as much time with her father before he passed away from the physical plane as possible. It was not to be the successful business person, I thought. I had difficulty making money in Colorado. It was very
Boulder Canyon, Boulder Colorado
expensive. It was after I moved to California, that everything really began to fall into place. I was told over and over again, "COLORADO IS NOT YOUR HOME!" Even though I loved Colorado. Even though two of my children now live there. I am not supposed to live there.

I do what I do, because it is what God wants me to do. It is not a vocation I chose for myself. It was chosen for me. Yes, you could say it was Divine! It is Divine! A triple Scorpio, married four times who loves sex, who had been molested, traumatized, non-orgasmic for most of her adult life, now healed, loving herself completely, teaching other women and men how to live fully expressed in all that they do. Yes, sex is my vocation. It is Divine!

My friend, Diana Davis wrote the book God is Here. Her son Forrest is her only living child. He receives the benefit of the proceeds of her book. Forrest and my daughter Ariel both lost parents within months of each other. Coincidence? I don't believe so. This photo was taken of Forrest and Ariel during happy days after playing on the lake together.

The Long And Winding Road

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

When I was 16 I knew that there was something more to life than just an education, career, family and death. I longed to be enlightened like Buddha. It has been my soul's driving force in this life. To say I have arrived, would be false, enlightenment is
only the beginning. We continue to grow and expand beyond being enlightened. Joy and Happiness is what we all strive for. I have found it and I wish it for you as well. It is my purpose to help as many people while I am on this planet find their true purpose and happiness. Knowing how, is the key. In this article I will share you the secrets and keys to navigating our long winding road so that you can learn from my roadblocks. Perhaps my story will inspire you. Life is a joy, once you know how to truly live.

Life is one long winding road. It does lead to a door, which will open to you. After that more and more doors open. Joy, happiness and thriving as a healthy human being is what we are all meant to do. Many people struggle with life, feeling that it is hard. We make it so with our beliefs that it is difficult.

Yes, I have been married and divorced 4, count 'em! Four times! Yes, and I used to be ashamed. After my fourth divorce, I opened new bank accounts and was asked for two forms of ID. I pulled out all my credit cards, debit cards and driver's license. I had five different names and no two matched. Now I laugh. This was part of my self discovery. Each and every part of my life took me one step further along my road of self discovery and expansion. Each failed relationship was not a failure or a mistake, it held a gift and a lesson, where I learned more about myself. Each relationship reflected back to me my inner fears, voids, confusion, beliefs and patterns from childhood.

After enlightenment we continue to grow and expand. We continue to be upgraded and downloaded with new information. Our bodies heal. We begin to look more youthful, aging slows. We are vibrating at a high rate (LOVE), which helps us to heal all past illnesses. Pain no longer exists. When we hear that love heals all, this is true, although the phrase is far more expansive than the romantic love that we strive for. When you come to a place of loving acceptance of self, relationships are not needed in the same way to fulfill you. You are already fulfilled.

How Can I Use My Life Experience To Teach Me?

Life Is Your Mirror

Our lives reflect back to us our beliefs, thoughts and feelings. Whatever is happening inside of us reflects back to us in our relationships, situations and life events. Life is a game. Just like a board game we can make turns that take us away from our soul's purpose, slow our growth down, or we fail to learn from the lesson. When we don't get the lesson, it will repeat until we do. (Which is why I married so many times. I kept blaming others for my unhappiness. When the unhappiness was coming from inside myself.)

Whether it is through our careers or relationships, life continues to show you what you are reflecting out into your world. If you are negative, negative experiences will be shown to you. People might be mean, angry or abusive. If you are afraid, situations that cause you to be afraid will be given to you.

The Success Driven Life

Let's say you are a very driven person. You strive for perfection. Everything you do - you try your best to be perfect. You are driven to success, because you believe that when you are successful you will be happy. You work long hours, perhaps on multiple projects. You push yourself beyond what your physical limitations are. You may end up with health issues, heart, depression and severe loneliness, obsessive compulsive behaviors, worry, insomnia, vomiting, diarrhea. You name it, your body begins to break down because you are abusing yourself.

Most of Us Have It Backwards And Upside Down

Everything that happens in your life is to spur you forward, to help you grow and evolve. Every relationship we have is a mirror into our soul. Our relationships show us what is happening inside us. It is never about the other person. But we incorrectly blame others for upsetting us, making us angry or treating us badly. It is because we don't think we are worthy, deserving or lovable that these things are being shown to us.

Look Inside You

I have met thousands of people who are uncomfortable in their own skin. They are afraid to look within. Most people are afraid to go deep. They run away from themselves and avoid confrontations or deep honesty. Yet it is only with being honest with ourselves that we recognize the truth of who we are. Life is not hard. It is our belief that it is hard that brings challenging situations to our door. When you begin to believe that life is working FOR YOU, that life becomes one of ease, reflection, and contemplation.

We Work Too Hard

Americans and Europeans are the few societies that don't stop and rest in the afternoon. Rest and repose is what allows us to stop the madness long enough to see what is really inside of us. When we are going and doing all the time, all we can see is the chaos that we have created by all the crazy thoughts that we are allowing to run amok inside our heads. Hard work does not bring us happiness. Success does not make us happy if we are not already happy. Marriage does not bring us happiness. Children may bring us some happiness, but they do not fulfill us, they may even further confuse and challenge us. We fulfill ourselves.

Nothing is Forever

Change is inevitable. When we let go of relationships and learn from them, we recognize that they are in our lives to teach us something. People leave, they die and change is always present. When we try to hang on for dear life, we suffer. When we fight change, we suffer. As my dear friend and former teacher Vasestha used to say,
"Change is inevitable, suffering is optional."

Life Becomes Art

A woman I have been working with for several months has been challenged with work. Her work environment was becoming increasingly more difficult. Her new assistant manager was not treating her fairly. The environment was becoming unhealthy for her. Her partner has been encouraging her to move with him to Florida, because where they have been living has been a challenge for him to find work. He found work that was fulfilling in Florida. She refused to go, preferring life in Colorado. Today she was fired from her job, with a lame excuse. Her drawer was $5.00 over. The same day she was suspended for her overage, another girl was short by $100.

Life Showing You The Way TO GO!

She could look at this situation as being unfair. OR, she could see that a door was closed for her to let go of Colorado and join her loving boyfriend in Florida where he is happy and has found work. They could rent a three-bedroom home for less than they were paying for a two-bedroom apartment in Colorado. She could very well find work more easily there as well.  When you open your eyes and get out of your own way, life shows you which was to go. Life gives you the direction. Should this woman choose to stay in Colorado, life will become increasingly difficult for her until she gets it. It is time to leave and join her partner in Florida.

SIMPLIFY

Most of us are ruled by our possessions. We have mortgages, cars, life insurance, health insurance, fitness memberships, summer homes, vacation rentals, jewelry, closets full of clothes and house stuffed to the gills with collections, statues, artwork and televisions. It is not until we begin to unburden ourselves that we recognize that all this stuff is just stuff and does not bring us true happiness. The joy a material item brings is so fleeting that we have to keep buying. The latest cell phone, iPod, computer or outfit is our latest fix. Millions are spent on makeup, fitness, and products in an attempt to make us feel happy. All to no avail. Until you spend money on a guide to help you search and excavate deep inside you, the happiness will continue to elude you. Most people spend millions over their lifetime on possessions, but fail to focus where it really matters on their soul's growth.

The Cost of Loneliness

On my personal journey I spent over $100,000 on divorces, custody and legal fees. I spent over $200,000 on travel workshops and further education to India, Bali, around the
world. How much have you spent trying to be or find happiness. How many lost loves, sexual encounters or dating sites have you been on and still feel lonely?

Material Goods and Big Lessons

I received guidance in 2009 to get rid of my stuff or "they would do it for me." I had been warned at least three times by psychics that I had too much stuff and that it was bogging me down. Within three weeks of this warning three 100-year-old oak trees landed on my home. On top of that landmark event in my life, I found mold everywhere. In my closets, drawers and on all my furniture. I had to move out and let it ALL GO! Every last piece of clothing, furniture, and piece of paper. All the records, bills, and files. GONE!

The Power Of Letting Go

Letting go leads to surrender. I surrendered to The Universe. I totally let go. I grieved at the loss. Then it was amazing. I felt lighter. I felt clean. I felt relief. Shortly after this event I went to Bali. That trip was on the heels of a trip to India and the culmination of many other events (and daily Divine Presence Process Meditation) and led to my awakening.

(Author's note) In 2015 I will lead a small group of committed people to a two-week retreat to Bali and one to Scotland.

Since 2009, I have let go of most of my belongings twice more. Once in Georgia before moving to Boulder, Colorado and once again in Boulder to move to California. Now I live very simply with very little in the way of furniture. I have enough to be comfortable. I could be considered a minimalist. When people come into my home, they feel the zen-like quality and then say, it doesn't feel like I live here. Home is wherever I am. Whether I am in Boulder, Colorado, Toronto, or London, England my heart and soul are with me. I can be at home anywhere. My belongings are just things. I am grateful for what I have, but my belongings do not torture me, nor do they own me.

Coming Into Alignment

Each of us is Divine. We all have Divinity within us. When you feel small, you think small. When you believe you are imperfect, you feel imperfect. The truth is you are already perfect. There is nothing to do, nothing to prove and certainly no one to prove it to. Recognizing your own personal Divinity is the biggest step you can take in your soul's growth. Although for many it happens after months of working with me as your spiritual pathfinder.

Why Do I Teach and Talk About Sex When I am a Spiritual Teacher?

I was guided in 2012 to teach and write about human sexuality. Millions of people are motivated by sexuality, rather than personal growth. This motivation will lead them to the core of who they are - Divine.

Each of us is mind, body, spirit. Our sexuality is the core of who we are. You cannot separate your sexuality from you, although many try to do so. I have met thousands of women who swear off sex thinking that they are closer to God that way. To be honest, that is a pile of bullshit so thick and so deep! Denying who we are is not living fully. When we shut down sexually, our first and second chakras (energy centers) shut down. Creativity can be shut down. Our ability to get our message and work out into the world can be prevented.
Keep thinking that way and it will take you to the grave as shrill, negative and unloving humans. Our purpose here on earth is to love. We are to give and receive love. Being celibate is not loving to you or to God. Who created your beautiful body after all?

Life - The Universe Is Always Working FOR You

Most of us spend our lives making statements about ourselves and our lives. For example, "Life is hard!" "I'll never find someone who will love me for who I am!" "I'll never be rich!" What we fail to realize is that these statements are sent out into the Universe and boomerang as situations in our life and relationships to show us that whatever we say, we are correct. Whatever you believe to be true is true FOR YOU!

If the Universe is always and in every way working for ME, how then can I have a better, happier life?

  1. First and foremost show and give love and acceptance to you (all of you). To have someone love you completely, unconditionally the way you are, you must love and accept YOURSELF the way you are - completely.
  2. Be true to yourself. Be authentic and honest with you. Stop lying to yourself about how you really feel or are.
  3. Take responsibility for yourself and your happiness. No one is responsible for making you happy.
  4. Be kind to yourself and kindness will be shown to you.
  5. Be kind to others and they will be kind to you.
  6. Be positive. Think positive.
  7. Ask questions, rather than make closed-ended statements. For example, " How can I effortlessly and easily find someone who will love and cherish me."
  8. Spend time in gratitude for what you have.
  9. Spend time in meditation and reflective silence each and every day. Relax, be comfortable and quiet. Silence is where wisdom will come to you. When your mind is filled with chaotic thoughts there is no room for wisdom to flow in. Make room by being quiet. If you don't know how to meditate use my video below. Quieting the mind is as simple as turning your eyes upward toward the ceiling, without moving your head upward. Hold your eyes in this position as long as 5 minutes before you begin. Meditate from your heart, rather than your mind.

Marriage Is Not THE Destination

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Wedding Bliss and Joy

I hear women planning their weddings, pouring time, energy and love over bridal magazines, it seems to me that many feel that a wedding is the final destination. "When I get married I will be happy!" seems to be the sentiment.Yet, marriages are ending at an alarming rate, people are depressed and suicidal, which is far from a blissful state. What is wrong with this picture?

It was a very happy day

For me, it was not until my fourth marriage that I finally was ALL IN. I gave everything to my marriage. I was no longer looking for someone else. I was completely committed and, in love. I felt satiated with life. I thought I found THE ONE. Boy was I wrong. Within months of our wedding, he was having affairs. Being a psychic I knew these things. I was awakened from a sound sleep when he was away ostensibly visiting with his daughter. At 10:30 after being asleep for half an hour, my guides roused me, saying to me, "You should have heard from Jeff (name changed to protect him) by now."

My happy place in Alpharetta, Georgia
I called him. Instead of him picking up, his phone went straight to voice mail. I could feel guilt on the other end of the line. I knew what this meant. He was not with his daughter. He was with someone else. Why after all these years, inner work and healing did I experience this pain and suffering? Because I had more work to do. I had cleared energetic patterns, but I had not cleared the emotion that I had stuffed deep down for over 50 years. I had covered up pain with anger and stuffed it all deep down inside.

Discovering your spouse or partner is having an affair is devastating. You begin to question what is wrong with you. The point is, that it is not you. It is them. They have a void that is not being filled. They looked to you to fill it and you did not. No one else can.

Each of us have our own lessons to learn. We all experience pain, suffering and trauma on some level to help us look within and grow. Pain is the catalyst for growth. Without it, we stagnate. Our soul purpose is to evolve and become enlightened, but most people have forgotten what we are here to do. Not everyone turns within. It is the higher road, but not an easy one. We each have to take responsibility for your own life, happiness and bliss. We depend on our marriages, husbands and wives to fulfill us. When this does not happen, you do what I did, you divorce them.

Yet, happiness does not come from re-marrying another. It comes from deep introspection and self discovery. I had done so much of this it made me really question what was going on. After three months of grieving, screaming, crying and tossing his crap out of my barn, I let it all go. He was the catalyst for deep healing of my blocked emotions, and thankfully, I learned to let it all go. I was grateful for what he gave me. I let him go with love. Each person we encounter has something to teach us. Learning the lesson and recognizing the gift is the important message. Instead most of us blame our spouse or ex for what they did to us. When we do, we are missing the point. If you do not learn, grow, forgive and let go, you will attract another who will teach you a more difficult lesson. This will keep repeating until you learn. Your fulfillment, your happiness is an inside job. You are the purveyor of your own bliss, joy and happiness. You are the one who needs to say, "I choose to be happy. No one else can give that to me."

We focus on what another can give us. Yet, what we give ourselves is permanent. Self acceptance, self care, unconditional love. Until we give it to ourselves, we are giving to others to manipulate, control and to attempt to fill the empty places within  ourselves. No other can fill a void. No other can love you enough. No other can validate you as you can yourself.

When another is expecting us to fulfill them, to be responsible for their happiness, it is a huge burden. It is an impossible task. Yet, men, women and children spend lifetimes attempting to make others happy, to no avail. It is not possible. You will feel like a failure if you make this your life's mission.

Instead love and accept yourself. Love yourself no matter what. Love the journey, the joy ride, rather than look to an event in your life to make you happy. No ring, certificate or marriage will give you happiness permanently. This is an experience and feeling you give to yourself. Live in the moment, rather than focusing on how some future event will make you happy. Each event in our life only comes one time. If you are focusing on the future, you miss the joy of the moment. You miss the love that is present right now. You miss out on living life to the fullest.

After The Wedding

When women (especially) focus on the fact that getting married will make them happy, they wake up days or weeks later and feel let down. If the wedding and being married didn't make me happy, then it must be my husband's fault. We blame the men for not doing it for us. Many women begin looking or another for this very reason. It may happen in 5, 10 or 20 years down the road. If you are not happy with yourself, no marriage will make you feel better about you. You may have the greatest guy in the world, but unfortunately you don't see him as great, because you don't FEEL great. This very thing recently happened within my own family. My son married a beautiful girl. He was deeply in love and committed to her.

Her focus was on the wedding, rather than the relationship. Everything had to be perfect. She spent hundreds of hours creating center pieces for each table, decorations and give-aways for the guests. She put so much energy into the wedding. When my daughter (her bridesmaid) tinted her hair 6 months before the wedding, she freaked out. Yelling at her on Face Book, "How could you do this to me!" She was a bridezilla. The wedding, rather than the relationship was her focus. Within 2 years she met a guy at the gym that shone brighter - he must be the one that will do it for me! My son was devastated.

Self Love Is The Key To Happiness

When we look for happiness outside of ourselves, we find that a love, marriage, job or car only gives us a temporary charge. The feelings don't last because there is not enough love for ourselves. We are giving to others from an empty place. There is simply not enough to go around. When we are filled with unconditional love for ourselves, it is a very different story. Instead of focusing on our faults and being perfect, we need to accept ourselves the way we are - as if we will never change. We all have parts of ourselves that are less than stellar, because we are human. We also have talents, gifts and expertise that no one else has. We are all unique. When we begin to see the magic within ourselves, focusing on the beauty within, rather than seeing ourselves as ugly, imperfect and lacking everything shifts. Everyone of us have personality traits that make us different, those parts that don't smell or look so pretty are the ones we need to embrace unconditionally. Those are the parts that are harder to love. Loving all of us, even those parts that are hard to love, fill us. Instead of feeling incomplete and broken we begin to feel full.

Our connection with God, Allah, Source energy is the other half of the equation. I have never been a religious person. I was not even sure God existed until well into my 30s. I needed proof and my life sure did not show me that there was a God. Many of us feel this way. It isn't God that does bad things to us. It is our patterns, family programming that is in place for us to grow. We look at our lives upside down. We were taught backwards. When we were children we were taught that self love was selfishness. This is not so. I recommend doing The Divine Presence Process Meditation to fill yourself to overflowing. I have a You Tube video that many have used and found their love within.http://youtu.be/8RNHrXoWWsc

We are not looking for another to MAKE US HAPPY. Sex becomes dull quickly. We begin to blame our spouse. We are not all in. We may have spoken the vows, but we don't believe them. Since we don't love ourselves, there is a constant search for the next best thing - whether it is a lover, or subsequent marriage.

Famous People and Movie Stars

Have you ever noticed how rare it is for movie stars and musicians to have long-term marriages? People in the lime-light are often filled with self-loathing and unworthiness. They are faking it till they make it. Models fall into this category as well. They usually have very low self esteem. When our self esteem bank is low, we can't take criticism, we get extremely defensive and reactive when there is any conflict. We are often in tremendous fear of our partner having an affair or leaving us, because we don't feel good enough. Our thoughts create, so we end up creating just what we fear. Sadly those marriages that had such a beautiful spark of love, end.

How Do I Focus On The Present?

  1. Breathe deeply. Quiet the mind chatter.
  2. Stop blaming yourself for what you did or didn't do in the past.
  3. Recognize that each event, relationship or experience in your life is to teach you more about who you are.
  4. There is no right or wrong. It was not wrong to fall in love or marry that person. It was just an experience.
  5. Let go of your story. Life is a series of experiences that we create for ourselves with our thoughts. If you continually tell your story of woe (I am so sick....  I am so lonely..... I am so broken... I am so depressed.... and I sick and tired...) The Universe will send you more of what you are focusing on. Stop telling your story.
  6. Focus on the positive. Take your attention off the negative and magnify the positive. Whatever you focus your attention on will grow, whether it is positive or negative. You would rather have the positive, right?
  7. If you have issues with 1 - 6 it is time to book your private session with me so that I can assist you to live in the moment, empower you, expand your awareness, heal, grow and evolve. If not now, WHEN?
