Who You Are Is More Important Than What You Do

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

When we get to the end of the road of life, it is not the house we lived in, the car we drove, or the amount of money we made that people remember. Eulogies rarely include stories about who you stepped over on the road to success, but rather what you left behind.

Did your children love you? Will you be missed? Will your legacy be one of creative genius, generosity, compassion, gratitude, love or the joy you spread across the world?

The most vital part of our life is who we are. What do you stand for? Do you share love with your children, neighbors or strangers? Do you drop a few bills in the musician's case as he plays his heart out on your city streets? Or do you pretend not to notice?

Our lives are happier when we are compassionate towards others. We are happier when we give generously. We ignite others with our gratitude and joy.

Do you speak highly of others, or do you gossip? Are you negative, or positive in your thinking? Do you love your brothers and sisters no matter what color or nationality they are? Are you grateful for each day and happy to be alive?

Do you share a smile with the cashier at the checkout? Do you offer a heartfelt compliment to the salesperson or clerk that was so helpful? Do you answer the phone with a smile and give someone directions when they ask, or do you tell them you don't have the time? Maybe rescuing animals, or mentoring children is the way you share your love and passion. Whatever you do, when we make a difference in your world everyone benefits.

On Friday, I visited the Canadian Consulate to renew my passport in downtown Los Angeles. Before I made the eighty-eight-mile trek into the land of movie stars I did what any Internet savvy person would do. I called the number my Bing search engine gave me for The Canadian Consulate.

Instead of hearing, "Bienvenue a Canada," I heard a man's voice simply say "Hello." I had reached a bankruptcy attorney whose office just happens to be in the same building as the Canadian Consulate. The phone number listed by Bing leads unsuspecting Canadians to Kevin's office number.

Instead of being rude, ill-tempered or angry for receiving and fielding hundreds of calls for The Canadian Consulate Kevin used this opportunity to offer a humanitarian service.  To Kevin, I salute you! I am very grateful for his patient and helpful demeanor when I called. He made my day.

Kevin knew the hours of operation for the Consulate and offered to answer other questions about them as well. He was very complimentary about the Canadians who worked at the Consulate.

I shared my perspective about Divine Intervention and that there is no such thing as a coincidence. I wondered what the reason was for our conversation? I discovered for every wrong number or message he receives Kevin returns every call.  He doesn't want travelers to be stranded or distressed about their lost passport thinking they left a message for the Consulate.

Kevin was amazingly kind. Even though he has fielded hundreds of misdialed calls for wayward Canadians searching for the Consulate, he was polite, generous with his time and told me about his happy second marriage in the process! Yay Kevin! I wondered how I could be more generous, patient and compassionate.

When I drove into Los Angeles, I found myself in unfamiliar territory. Streets were torn up, parking was outrageous, yet a complete stranger suggested that I park at Macy's where I could get my ticket validated. Instead of paying $30.00 for two hours it was free! I am always excited to save money, this made me very happy.

I stopped several people on the street asking for directions. I was delighted to find so many wonderfully helpful people who took the time to guide me when they obviously had somewhere else to be.

To all those commuters on the 101 Northbound from Los Angeles that waited patiently while I made my way across four lanes of traffic to fuel my parched gas tank, thank you. There are plenty of people who are kind, gracious and helpful when you are filled with gratitude and love yourself.

What will your legacy be? What will others remember about you one year after your passing? Will they remember your generosity or helpfulness? What will they speak of on the tenth anniversary of your death? Will they still be talking about you? Or will you be forgotten?

Jennifer will be hosting a FREE call on January 1st. Find out what the new year holds for you. Ask the burning questions you have been wanting to ask Jennifer at the end of the call. Look for more information or sign up for Jennifer's newsletter and be party to the insider scoop!

Things I Don't Understand - My Rant

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

What goes around comes around. What goes in must come out. What goes up must come down. Styles come and they go, but there are some styles, I just don't get. What about exposing your drawers is nice, attractive or respectable? Absolutely nothing! I don't understand why men think that shuffling along the street with their genes around their ankles is manly, sexy or even interesting. I just don't get it! Seeing someone's underwear AND butt crack does not turn me on. I may be a thrill seeker, but this is one thing I find anything butt thrilling!

I live in California. I have lived around the world in foreign countries and travelled a great deal. California Walmart is certainly the land of what not to wear. I have seen more boobage in the 20 months I have lived here than I have seen in all my years on earth. I am not sure what women think is alluring about
exposing their breasts while they shop? I just don't get it. When you expose yourself to the world, what are you leaving as sacred with your partner in the bedroom? Absolutely NOTHING! I just don't get it!

When did underwear become outerwear?

The other thing I don't get is why women think it is attractive, appealing or even sexy to show off their undergarments. If your underwear is being shown to the world, how can undressing be a turn on to your partner? Some things need to be sacred. Our bodies are sacred. When we expose our nakedness, our underwear and our cracks to the world, we show our disrespect for ourselves.

Sexy Is Good

Feeling sexy is good. Feeling sexy is healthy. It shows that you have a good body image.  What is happening today, however shows a complete lack of self esteem, and self respect. When you love and respect yourself, you keep your body sacred. You revere yourself and your body. You treat your body as if it was your temple, because it is. You treat it with respect by eating healthy foods and covering yourself up when in public. Exposing your half naked body to the world while you shop shows the opposite. You don't care. You don't care about yourself and you feel filled with self loathing. When you respect yourself, you know where the limits are. You know what is too much and what is just enough.

Appropriate Attire

There is a time and a place for beach attire. The beach! There is a time and a place to expose your thong underwear - in the bedroom! Not in a public place. If you are practically naked in public, there is no sanctity in your relationship. There is no reverence for yourself. Nothing is kept private. Sex is a private matter. Exposing your naked body in public, keeps your private life and sex out for the world to see. Sex is sacred. Your body is sacred. You are sacred.

I wrote Orgasm For Life to bring the sacredness back in sex. I wrote Orgasm For Life because we have extremes today in our world. We have people exposing themselves in public places and married couples not having sex. People that have taken vows to love and honor each other are not. What is loving about that? NOTHING!

What makes me sad is the disrespect that is being shown of ourselves in the world. When we expose ourselves in public we disrespect our bodies, ourselves and all those we meet. Life is sacred. Living life from a higher level means treating yourself and others with respect. Revering your body and your partner's body. Loving yourself, no matter how big or small you are. Acceptance of self - all of you, is what unconditional love is all about. The attention you are seeking walking around half naked only shows the pain you feel inside. It shows how angry you are with your life and how you feel. The acceptance and validation you are seeking needs to come from within. It comes from lovingly accepting who you are.

Sex As Medicine

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Grammy award winner Marvin Gaye sang about sexual healing back in 1982. What most people are unaware of is that sex heals. We know of sex as a release from the build-up of tension for men. Women also, reap wonderful health benefits. What most people are unaware of is that sex leads to mental, physical and spiritual health. When our bodies relax post coitus, we sleep better. Resentment, anger and agitation are released. It is hard to stay angry when your bodies are entwined in surrender.

Surrender, is the art of letting go. In order to have an orgasm you have to let go of thoughts, stress, anger and your long list of to-do items. You can't orgasm hanging on for dear life to control, manipulation or fears.
Friend and sexual educator, Devi Ward has written and talked about sex as medicine for some time. She shared her thoughts with me. I have included a whole chapter on the medicinal qualities of sex (Chapter Six) in Orgasm For Life, my new soon to be Global Best seller! Following the previous link will take you to Amazon.com to purchase it.

Sex is Fun

Because of the way I was raised, it took me a long time to realize that sex was not always serious, but could be fun, a time of laughter and connection between two people that deepens intimacy, creates a stronger bond between two people and makes you feel amazing, in ways nothing else could!

A Touch Of Enlightenment

Wanting to increase energy in your pineal gland? Have an orgasm. When you follow the energy that rises up through the central channel through the spine and culminates in the frontal lobe of the brain, you experience a touch of God. Which is why so many people say, "Oh God! Oh God! Oh God!," when they are in the throws of ecstasy.

The Health Benefits of Sex

My 92 year-old mother suffers from migraines. I tell her all the time, that all she needs is an orgasm and it would take care of the pain. She laughs, but doesn't take my advice. Here are some great health benefits you probably didn't consider when you said "No!" the last time it was offered.

Sex helps you live longer. Men who have sex twice a week have been reported to live 50% longer than men not having sex at all.
  1. Sex increases cardiovascular health.
  2. Sex lowers blood pressure.
  3. Natural pain reliever. Sex reduces pain up to 50% and will not cause liver damage like other pain meds do.
  4. Tightens the abdominal muscles better than a gym work out.
  5. Relieves stress. 75% - 90% of all health issues are stress related. Sex is 10 times more effective than Valium for relieving stress in the body.
  6. Better than drugs! An orgasm activates the same part of the brain as pain, releasing the natural FEEL GOOD hormones of the brain.
  7. Neurons get excited too! Endorphins flood the space between the nerve cells and inhibit neurons from firing. This acts as an analgesic for the body.
  8. Regular sex keeps the male and female genitalia from atrophy. If too much time passes between sexual encounters, sex hormones drop in production. Regular sex keeps the hormones actively producing.
  9. Sex keeps your penis and testicles from shrinking with age.
  10. Sex provides much needed touch to keep us humans thriving. Sex calms the nerves, lowers anxiety and generally makes us feel good.
  11. Immune Boost. Kissing provides the body with an immune boost. Kissing keeps a couple connected but also boosts your immunity to certain diseases. Kissing is also a stress reliever.
  12. Reduces risk of heart attack.
  13. Reduces risk of stroke.
  14. Relieves depression - better than an anti-depressant.
  15. Burns calories.
  16. Increases intimacy.
  17. Keeps menstrual cycles regular. Yes it does ladies!
  18. Couples who have regular sex have better relationships and happier lives. They just have more FUN!

For those who are not in the mood, it is time to get that stick out of your ass and increase your life span. Enjoy life more - and improve your bitchy mood!

Characteristics of An Abuser

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters and Kim Parke

Abuse is insidious. Most of us are unaware that we may have abused our children, mothers, fathers, friends, lovers or spouses. There are many forms of abuse from verbal, emotional, physical, sexual to neglect. Even rejecting your spouse repeatedly for love, affection and sex is abusive.

We need good boundaries in our lives. We need to understand ourselves better, to see why we would endure such misery. We need to be more loving to those who have been abused, instead of turning our backs on them. They need our help more than anyone. Yet, women, children, elder parents and many others are abused everyday, without anyone stepping in to stop it.

What is it that turns our stomachs and makes us judge? Is it the ugliness that we don't want to see within ourselves? Or is it our self righteousness that makes us feel better than others. In any event, this planet needs more compassion for those who are being and have been abused. It is a subject that is taboo in most circles. Perhaps if we don't talk about it, it will go away?

In my life I was abused early. Because of the programming that changed me, I became a victim. I resonated with those who would abuse me. I attracted it into my life unconsciously. I experienced all forms of abuse in marriage. Once in an abusive relationship, it is extremely difficult to extricate yourself from it. Rising above, is next to impossible. Programs and patterns need to be cleared to be able to move beyond. Our unconscious minds need to be retrained, to feel love, acceptance and forgiveness for ourselves.

Kim Parke is a fellow Master hypnotherapist, NLP practitioner and healer. She and I have been chatting on Linked In about abuse for several months now. She has kindly put together a list to help you see if you or anyone in your life is being abused. Recognizing it, is the first step.

Characteristics of an Abuser
  1. Probably witnessed abuse as a child.
  2.  Possessive and jealous, often imagines you are having affairs. May be jealous of family, friends or even own children.
  3.  temper- either flares up over every little thing or let's anger build up then explodes.
  4. Blames others. Does not accept responsibility for his/her anger or actions.
  5. Tells you it is all your fault. projects own faults onto you ( If you didn't do this I wouldn't...)
  6. May blame alcohol and or drugs for abusive behavior ( well I was drinking...I didn't know what I was doing....what do you expect?
  7. Jekyll and Hyde personalities. Charming to people outside the family and tires to keep the abuse hidden.
  8. Has rigid ideas of the roles of men and women. ( A man is the head of the house, the woman is expected to do what he tells her to do.
  9. May have problems with the law, not always.
  10. May behave in a threatening or intimidating way...weapons etc.
  11. Tries to isolate you, discourages you seeing family and friends...religious cults fall into this area. May discourage you from getting a better education.
  12. Tries to control your behaviours, may try to control your thoughts through brainwashing techniques.
  13. Verbal abuse ( insults, put-downs, name calling)
  14. What ever you do he or she says it is wrong.
  15. Will do what ever it takes to drive you away and whatever it takes to get you back---grad the kids or apologize profusely, send flowers, take you out for dinner, very real tears, promises everything, I'll go to church I'll go to counseling, I'll stop drinking, I'll never hit you again..etc
  16. Promises to change but never does.
  17. When physical abuse occurs it follows a patten.
  18. Minimizes the seriousness of the abuse.
  19. After an explosion, he/she feels better and can't understand why you remain upset.

Doing The Easiest Thing Rather Than The BEST THING

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

We all have responsibilities and jobs to do. Long ago I resolved to be the best at whatever it was I was doing. I may not be the best in the world, but I do the best I can possibly do in my work, coaching and life.

Sometimes we find others that would rather do the easiest thing, rather than the best or the RIGHT thing. I encountered this today, when a client informed me that a letter she wrote to me was returned with "insufficient address." She asked me what was missing on the envelope. There was nothing missing. I wondered if I had died and the post office was returning my mail because of my death. Nope! That is not the case. Still very much alive.

My daughter's brand new driver's license had not arrived after over a month. We were beginning to wonder what was going on. I had decided to visit the DMV when I was next in town and see what was going on. Since my daughter only has another month here before moving to Colorado for college, it is imperative she has her license.

My regular mail carrier knows my daughter and I by name. He even knows our dogs. I knew he was not the issue. I wondered if the post office had added something to the zip code that I was not aware of? No. That was not the issue either. They also informed me that I appeared very much alive. That was good to know. I felt so much better.

The post master called Roy, my mail carrier and he replied he had not returned any of our mail. The post master began to dig deeper, because we had Christmas gifts returned and all sorts of other things in the past for no apparent reason.

What he found was that there were four routes with my street name. Several were with much higher numbers. A female carrier was given my mail by mistake. Rather than locate the correct route and carrier, she had arbitrarily marked my mail, "INSUFFICIENT ADDRESS!"

Laziness, ineptness and apathy are my biggest pet peeves. This woman is just the type that gives "government workers" their bad name. She did not try. She did not ask. She did what was the easiest for her to do. She did not want to walk to the post master or her supervisor and ask what to do. She took the easy way out.

As You Do ONE THING Is How You DO EVERYTHING!

Where in your life do you take the easy way out? Are you  lazy in bed, life or your relationships? Do you slough off your duties, or take the easy way out? Being the best you can be involves all areas of your life. The best mother, father, lover, husband, wife or friend. Will you go to the ends of the earth to help, assist or give? Or do you take the lazy way? Giving your all and being the best you can be involves positive energy, rather than negativity.

Be The Best You Can Be

Being the best version of yourself helps you feel better about you on a daily basis. You don't have to look back and beat yourself up for not doing your best. Your best may be better than the next person, but it may not be equal to someone else's best. Knowing you are doing your best on any given moment will fill you with satisfaction and happiness knowing that you are being the best version of you.

When you are giving your all, you can attest to that fact. "Sir, I did my level best, Sir, yes sir!" Well maybe your wife is not a drill Sargent, but she might appreciate your humor. You know you gave it all and held nothing back. When all is said and done, knowing you gave your all throughout your life, will give you the satisfaction of knowing you were the best version of you and helped raise your neighbor, your children, your family and the global vibration of humanity a little bit more. Giving your all - makes you feel good about yourself. Leave nothing on the table. Give it all! At the end of your life when you are asked, "Did you give your all?" You can answer honestly, "Yes, Sir I did."

How a Break-up Can Be A GOOD Thing

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters
Angry couple

A break-up can be the best thing that ever happened.

A broken heart is one of the most painful experiences a human can have. It hurts. It feels as if the world is ending. Your world as you know it certainly is. The more vested you were in the relationship the more it hurts.

Sometimes we are half in a relationship. We feel certain that there is someone else out there that is more suited to us than the person we are with. If you have been unfaithful in your relationship, this was probably the case. When you are fully vested and committed affairs are not the norm. When only partially vested, we see the benefit of the break-up, the change happened and was taken care of for us.  When we are fully vested, we are fully committed and feel that the person we were with was THE ONE. Losing this person could totally change your life.

If everything you have ever dreamed of, all your future goals involved your partner, losing them means that your life is going to be radically different. Your dream of having children together and growing old together is gone. Sadness and loss will be experienced deeply. It is important to allow yourself time to really release them. There is always positive and negative in a relationship. Sometimes there is more negative than positive. Looking into what you learned afterward can be very cathartic. Focusing on the gift in the break-up can help you move forward. Each relationship teaches us something about ourselves. Focusing blame on one party does not take into account that there were two people in the relationship. There is always a lesson learned. Being grateful for the time together and the lesson will help you move on.

There are NO MISTAKES, only lessons

Each relationship is a lesson. When we begin to look at the experience as something that helped us grow, and see ourselves in a different light, we begin to understand the purpose of our relationships. Change is a constant. People change. Relationships change. We change. Expecting a relationship to last forever is a fairy tale. Even in a healthy beautiful supportive relationship, there is death at the end that separates us. Seeing the perfection in each moment, that everything is happening as it needs to, in the perfect time.

Acceptance

Allowing our partner to be who they are, rather than trying to change them is a loving act. Sometimes at the end of our relationship experience we recognize that we did not accept our partner completely as they were. We are able to see what we have learned from this experience. We have grown and learned what our patterns are. We have learned our weaknesses and strengths. We also gain clarity about what we want and don't want in our next relationship. Writing down our must haves and drop dead will not haves helps us notice our patterns when we begin to date. If we continue to attract the same type of person in our next relationship it is because we have not healed our issues. We have more work to do. Relationships are all about focusing on our inner selves. This is how we grow and become our highest and best version of us.

When a door closes, a window opens

If you have considered moving to a different country or state, now is a good time to make a clean break. You can start brand new, with a new career, new friends, new environment where nothing reminds you of the other person. You will always have memories, but not running into this person can help you focus on healing and moving on.

Challenges are Opportunities

The ending of a relationship can be a wake-up call. We recognize the areas where we need help or support. We can do a post mortem of our relationship and see where we could have done better. Sometimes, we give too much of ourselves and don't recognize it until our relationship ends. When we give too much we lose ourselves and then feel resentful.

Being a people pleaser is part of co-dependence. Co-dependent relationships occur when one or both parties put aside their personal needs and put the relationship ahead of everything else. This is a great time to hire a coach to clear up the issues and challenges that have plagued all your relationships. Healing the past will change the future. Use this time to get to know yourself on a deeper level.

Spending Time Alone Can Be The Biggest Gift

Time alone will help you to heal. Solitude after a break up gives you time to search your soul. You can look back at the events that led up to the demise of your relationship and see where you weren't true to yourself. Often we change ourselves to be more of what we think our partner would want us to be. When we act like our partner wants us to, we are not authentic. When we are inauthentic, we put our own needs aside, but moreover it is exhausting. Trying to be someone other than who you are is not healthy. The more authentic you can be, the more intimate your next relationship will be.

The biggest personal growth happens after a break up. Take the time to write, dig deep and look inside to see where you were not true to yourself? Did you give too much? Did you give up friends, family or a job? Don't jump into bed with the next live body you see to drown your sorrow and grief. This could lead to another relationship when you have not even begun to heal from this one. For every two years in the relationship you need one year to heal. If you enter into another relationship before you have time to heal and recover you will attract another lonely, empty person. Two lonely empty people do not create a good relationship.

Abuse

Leaving an abusive relationship can be very difficult. Be thankful that you got away safely. There are two people in an abusive relationship. One is the victim and one is the perpetrator. If you are a victim, you have work to do and issues to heal. Jumping right into another relationship will bring you another relationship with similar issues. You have to do inner work and get some help to recognize where you did not respect yourself. A coach that is familiar with abuse, or had abuse in their own past and has recovered would be beneficial for you. If you were the abuser, you also have issue to heal and work to do. This is deep work and very difficult to do on your own.

Forgiveness

When you are ready, you need to forgive yourself and your partner. Holding onto unresolved pain, anger and betrayal will attract it into your next relationship. I recommend a simple Kahuna healing prayer to forgive. Always begin with yourself when you are doing any kind of healing. Forgive yourself first. Spend about 20 - 40 minutes repeating the prayer thinking about the situation. Do the prayer slowly. When you feel complete stop. Come back and do the exercise again and again until you no longer feel a negative charge (or trigger).

I am sorry
Please forgive me
I love you
Thank you

Here are some ways to help you move on peacefully:
  1. Return and amicably split up belongings.
  2. Let go of anything that brings up painful memories.
  3. Delete them as friends on social media. Seeing posts from your partner can be very difficult, better that you let them go.
  4. Avoid phone calls and texting your partner unless absolutely necessary. Don't call them asking advice.
  5. If anyone asks, be kind don't bad mouth your ex.
  6. Take time for yourself - nurture yourself or go to the gym.
  7. Write in your journal. Expressing your feelings as you experience them, on paper will help release them. Your notes will help you to see how far you have come.
  8. Spend time with supportive friends.
  9. Eat healthy and get enough sleep.
  10. Stay busy. Do the things you put off and were too busy to do before.
  11. Recognize that everything happens for a reason and it is over. Thinking about reconciling at this time will bring you false hopes. LET IT GO.
  12. Spend time doing things you enjoy.
  13. Allow yourself time to cry. If you are feeling anger, allow yourself time to go to the top of a mountain, or a place away from others and do some cathartic screaming. You have to move these emotions in a healthy way or depression will result. Depression is the result of stuffed pain, with repressed anger on top.

If you have not risked everything, you have not loved completely.

I found Joy at WalMart!

Bloom Where You Are Planted

As a hypnotherapist and psychic life coach business owner, moving from town-to-town can have some challenges. Trusting and following my intuition, my daughter and I moved from our Beloved town of Boulder to the Mojave desert. With two long distance moves in the past two years getting re-established in a new community and building a client base has been interesting to say the least.

Since my awakening I find myself to be happy doing anything. In a constant state of inner peace I have become a witness of my own life. The Mojave desert has its own beauty, but does not hold a candle to the pristine beauty of the Colorado Rockies. I find myself noticing the plastic grocery bags that blow across the street, or the tires thrown carelessly in the dunes. It just is. I am able to see beauty in the sparse vegetation and the naked mountains. The tumble weed that blows across Interstate 14 makes me laugh. I feel I am on the set of an old Spaghetti Western movie. I keep looking for Clint Eastwood to walk out of the dunes. With many movie sets in our midst that is not an impossibility.

The community I live in is predominantly below the poverty line with well over 60% of the population on food stamps, social security and welfare.

Why Did God Send Me To The Desert?

One man's treasure.........

At first I wondered......... then it became increasingly obvious that I was needed here to shed light in a dark place. We arrived in the desert at the beginning of winter. I thought California was warm. All those songs about California girls had to have been written in the summer-time! There is a constant wild wind that whips across the flat open space. A forty-something male tried to make me feel badly by telling me I looked ridiculous in my parka. I couldn't have cared less how I looked. The old me is gone. The new me is not judgmental or critical. There are no voices in my head making constant comments about myself and others. I could not seem to get warm. I don't feel defensive in the least and certainly do not take other's stuff personally. The fact that I did not care how I looked was comical to me. This cold chilled me to the bone. Being comfortable in this climate was.

I have found it to be colder than my favorite place on earth, Boulder Colorado. With no heat in our rental home for the first two weeks, and cold water as well.  My previous California Dreamin' on such a winter's day is a several more months away!

I had to find a part-time job to fill in the gap between what I was earning as a psychic coach and healer. Although I feel and look young, prospective employers these days look at the graduation date on your resume. Mine had not seen the light of day in decades. Getting in front of a would-be employer is not like it used to be in the days of paper resumes and one-on-one interviews. As a white woman I have not encountered much discrimination until recently. I look 40, but my birth certificate says otherwise. Finding an office job was becoming increasingly difficult. I knew better than to fight or resist what was happening. Instead I took a different fork in the road. I had applied to 300 different companies in all sorts of capacities. I was not picky. I just needed a job. After weeks without fruit from all my seed planting, I looked at different opportunities. I applied for a position as a promoter. I was ecstatic when I got an e-mail response. I had seen women who promoted products at Costco in their hairnets. I really began to wonder what God wanted of me. I was an author, well educated and intelligent. My vanity was being put to the test.

I was delighted to have the opportunity to do a phone interview with the Regional Manager of Zip Fizz. We hit is off instantly and I was relieved to find he was conscious and awake. Breathing a sigh of relief I agreed to a two day working interview at Walmart for minimum wage. I knew I had the job. Of all the places I had applied for work, Walmart was not one of them. I preferred Target.

I studied and prepared prior to my on the job interview. I arrived prepared and early. I was grateful to have an opportunity for employment. The training manager was pleasant, personable and professional. I was beginning to really like this Zip Fizz company.
WHAT IS Zip Fizz?
Zip Fizz was created by a naturopath to replace the killer energy drinks like Monster and Red Bull. It is loaded with vitamin B-12, potassium, magnesium and many other minerals. I learned how to mix the powder in water and after a few hiccups was very quickly selling my quota of product. My trainer was outgoing and used a carnival type approach to selling the product. Using Peg's methods I began shouting out the words with a high pitch crescendo, "Zip Fizz! Sports drink, healthy nutritional energy drink! Loaded with vitamin B-12, potassium and magnesium with no sugar! I said it so often during an eight-hour work day, it became second nature. In the middle of my shift at Walmart, I stopped to take a break to run to the rest-room. I sat down, shutting my eyes momentarily. I coasted easily into a place of neutrality - a meditative state. Unconsciously I shouted out to to the three other ladies in the stalls, "ZIP FIZZ!" When I realized I had done this out loud in the middle of the restroom,  I sat in my stall chuckling at first and then finally laughing out loud at myself. I had come to a place of complete loving acceptance of myself no matter what I did. I was a goof ball and I didn't care in the least! Zip Fizz indeed had gotten into my soul.

Working at Walmart opened my eyes to the number of sick and dying population. I have not had health insurance for over 15 years because I have been a business owner all that time. As a landscape designer and contractor in Georgia I never considered it. Health insurance to me was a guarantee that you will become sick. It felt like a crutch to me. Something to lean on. Leaning on something other than The Divine is not in my nature. I knew I did not want to be ill and die when I have so much to live for. Being or getting sick is not an option. One of my mantras is "I am vibrantly healthy." I give thanks for my vibrant health daily.

It was not long before I recognized that I was actually enjoying my job. Most nights I stayed beyond my working hours to assist an elderly gentleman or woman who could not find a product after the pharmacy staff had left the store. It was my joy to help someone in whatever way I could. It felt good to be doing something constructive. I never said "I can't help you I don't work for Walmart." They needed help and I gave it to them. They talked to me about their ailments. Many were in pain. I was working at Walmart and in JOY! Interesting.

I enjoyed talking with people and found they liked talking to me. I connected with old farmers, and firemen, school teachers and many retired people. I met several Viet Nam vets in wheel chairs. People on oxygen, and loaded with prescription medicine, many using wheel chairs. It was reminiscent of the movie Wally. I began to wonder if that movie was based on Walmart. Old and young people came to my demo table and I talked to every single one of them. I gave my book away to several women who seemed like they could use some encouragement. My heart was actually singing while I offered Zip Fizz to the Walmart customers. I realized that it is not the place that was making me happy, it was the fact that I was being of service to The Divine, while offering Zip Fizz at Walmart. God never makes mistakes. We just don't know why were are sent somewhere going in. It is often revealed along the way if we are awake enough to notice. The Universe loves win-win situations. I was working, getting paid a decent wage. I received a steady stream of income and I was happy to be of service. I always gave more than was expected of me. I recognized that when you have inner peace it does not matter where you are or what you are doing. It is not the job we are doing, but how we do it that mattered. It was going above and beyond, giving of myself that made my heart sing.

People who know me recognize my directness. I don't BS and I don't lie. At the end of my shift I had to walk into the back of the store and dispose of my cardboard and trash, walking past the stock boys on my way. I overheard one say in reply to another's prodding to move faster, that he got paid $10.00 an hour and he was moving at a $10 an hour speed. I called him on his BS as I walked by.  "Be happy you have a job, as many don't." Until you have gone without and eaten what is in the back of your cupboard for weeks on end, you cannot possibly recognize what it is to go without. I am grateful for my little part-time job. Where I am treated well, and acknowledged for my contribution.

I recognize that I am in a different place in my life. I am grateful to be alive and healthy. I can see other's suffering and be compassionate towards them, but I can't change them, nor do I want to. When I committed to serve The Divine in 2010 I never dreamt of all the wonderful places I would be asked to go. Walmart was certainly not one of the places I thought I would frequent and be so delighted to be.
