9 Break-up Strategies To Help You Move On

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Breakups aren't easy. Whether you have dated weeks, years or months a breakup will leave a painful void where there was once laughter, love, affection and fun. It is natural and normal to feel this way.

With social media and texting, getting in contact can be so easy and yet, so difficult to resist when you know you need to.

Stalking your ex's pages to see what they are up to is like putting pins under your fingernails, it is torture. There is always a silver lining, we just have to look for it.

What you do post-breakup can change your life in positive ways. These are my best heart-healing strategies for overcoming and moving on from a relationship gently.

1. Give yourself time to feel. When we have experienced life together and their toothbrush is no longer in your bathroom, you will feel more than a brief pang. You are going to miss them. Allow yourself to feel the loss and grieve. Sadness will come up even when you know the relationship didn't work on some level. Thinking that you shouldn't feel is crazy thinking. If you had sex, laughs, fun, enjoyed each other's company and shared your lives, there is a loss. Allow yourself time to grieve. When sadness comes up allow yourself to feel it, rather than attempting to stuff it down.

Cry if you need to. Crying is a tremendous healing release, allowing stress to leave your body and calming your nervous system down. It's okay. Crying will not kill you. It is natural.

2. Assess. Spend some time examining the relationship without judgment. Each experience we have with others brings us lessons and teaches us more about ourselves.

Look back at what you were attracted to, what you liked and didn't like. Assessing will help you find clarity about what you want. Journal about what was good in the relationship. No relationship is all bad. Until you know what you want, need and don't want you will continue to attract people that you are compatible with you.

No one is perfect, but there are some characteristics we might not be able to accept. Did you think you could handle a smoker, but found out you couldn't? Are you a drinker and they weren't? What are your deal breakers? Ask yourself the following questions about your most recent relationship:

  • What surprised me?
  • What was different from other relationships?
  • What would I like from this relationship in my next?
  • Was this person attractive?
  • How did they treat you?
  • What characteristics or values didn't mesh with yours?
  • What did you find you must have?
  • What did you learn about yourself?
  • How did this relationship help you grow?
  • What are you grateful for?

3. Don't start dating too soon. Many people jump from one relationship into another because they are afraid of being alone  (this used to be me.) When we are afraid to be alone with ourselves, it is because we don't feel loved. We look for someone else to fill that void in us which leads to disaster.

The worst thing we can do after a breakup is to get back in the saddle before we have had a chance to grieve and assess what happened and what we want. Take some time to visit friends you haven't seen in a while. If you gave up yoga for your relationship - get back into it. Nurture yourself, rather than trying to fill a void or emptiness with mindless dating.

Dating too soon means you haven't taken the time to heal your heart; it isn't fair to yourself or the next person you date.

4. Be Definitive. Once you have broken up, don't second-guess yourself or your partner's decision. Attempting to reconcile or being wishy-washy after a break-up does you no good.

5. Don't be surprised if you crave your ex. A relationship loss is like giving up an addiction; it has a chemical and scientific basis. Find something else to fill the cravings and the void that supports you in positive ways. Do your best to avoid filling this void with sweets, carbs or foods that you know don't support you.

6. Exercise. If you feel the need or craving come up, go outside for a walk, run or do some yoga. Support yourself by getting some healthy exercise. Play music that helps you feel happy. Exercise with music allows you to exert yourself a little more and lifts you up when you are feeling down.

7. Meditate. Meditation will help calm any anxiety you feel or misgivings regarding your breakup. Meditation relieves stress and can help get you grounded. Breathe deeply, filling your lungs to the top and exhale slowly. Continue to breathe deeply and slowly following your breath. If thoughts come up, just allow them to float off in a bright colored balloon, rather than to critique the fact that you had a thought.

Envision light is coming through the top of your head into your heart and then send it down through your core, your legs, your feet into the center of the earth. Having a spiritual practice can help you feel happier with you and your life.

8. Nurture yourself. Self-love is necessary for a happy life and healthy relationships. Have compassion for yourself.

Giving to yourself in positive ways will help soothe your spirit and your mind. Instead of beating yourself up, use positive affirmations that are loving, caring and kind. Take a candle lit bath in Epsom salts before bed. A soak in a bath tub can relax your body and allow you time to do inward and meditate calming you right before bed so that you sleep better.

How To Be Your Own Lover After A Breakup

9. Be grateful. Be grateful for the love you shared. Be grateful for what you received. Be grateful for what you learned about yourself. Be grateful that you are still alive. Gratitude is one of the fastest ways to open our hearts and feel love. When we look for it, there is always something to be grateful for even if it is that we learned what we don't want in our next relationship. Once we have a love for someone, love is always present - even if they aren't with us any longer.

Breakups aren't easy. Navigating your breakup using healthy strategies, surrounding yourself with positive, supporting people and keeping your body moving will help you process your emotions in a healthy way.

Not every relationship is destined to go the distance. Know that this ending is also a new beginning as you are that much closer to finding what you need and desire.

My heart goes out to you.

When The Pain Becomes Too Great

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

My daughter in grief after her father's death

Pain is a part of life. Pain can be a physical experience, it can also be emotional. We feel pain when we have a break-up or divorce. We can try to hide our miser, but it shows up on our faces. We experience pain when we have a loss of a loved one through death. Sometimes the emotional pain is so great that it causes a block in our heart, which can cause us physical pain or a heart attack. Yes, a broken heart can result in a heart attack.

When we experience emotional pain, we can suffer. Suffering comes from attempting to avoid pain. Turning away, running away does not net a positive result. Avoidance of pain is what creates our suffering.

Sometimes we have a family secret locked away inside of us. We don't want to tell anyone, for fear of rejection or worse; perhaps abandonment. Keeping deep secrets inside creates a fracture in our soul. Secrets tear us apart. Secrets destroy trust. Holding onto a deep secret can also cause us to become ill. The energy of the secret held inside can bring up fear or anxiety.

Keeping a secret locked away from someone close to us keeps us from experiencing deep intimacy. Many of us have a fear of intimacy because we are afraid we won't be loved and excepted if others knew who we truly are, or the truth of our past.

Releasing The Pain

Part of our healing is letting the secret out into the light. Talking about what we are experiencing can be a form of release. Last night I discussed my past pain that I experienced in my past on my radio show, and more energy surfaced for me to heal and let go. Crying is a form of release. Making love can be a way to move our energy, if we can be raw, open and completely vulnerable. Often this openness changes our relationship for the better, resulting in a deeper intimacy or closeness. Intimacy deepens our bond of love.

We can't expect another to take our pain away, it is not possible. No one can fix us. Looking to be rescued makes you a victim. You are not a victim. Owning your pain, expressing it, through journaling, or speaking about it can help it move.

One thing I will tell you, letting it go, by feeling it completely, allowing it to flow through you is the best way. If we choose to stuff it back inside when it is attempting to come up, it will cause you issues. It could return with a vengeance when you least expect it.

Grief

There is no timetable for healing grief. Everyone has their own experience. If we have lost a child, the emotions we feel are intense because we often blame ourselves thinking we could have done more. We feel it is wrong for a child to die before their parents. Guilt can make
grief more intense. Guilt and shame are the lowest vibrational emotions we can experience. Try not to stay there. Forgive yourself.

Three years later, my daughter is still processing the loss of her father. It took me about three years to get over the loss of my lover, John Armbruster. The fact that he died right after sex made his death infinitely more intense for me. The manner by which someone dies can impact us strongly. When someone dies in what appears to be untimely, that can feel very troubling and challenging, especially when the person is young.

My father transitioned over 26 years ago. I still think about him, but the pain is gone. The love remains the same, (thank you Gavin Rossdale or Bush).

Writing Love Letters

Writing a love letter to ourselves, or our loved one can shift our energy and help to release our pain. Whether our loved one is still on the planet, or not, writing a letter can help you release emotion.

Questions

Asking questions can help you move your energy. Following are a few to get you started.

Ask what was the gift that this person gave you? What lesson did their death teach you? There is always a silver lining. We just have to look for it. Asking questions often gets you to the bottom of your pain. Did you do all you could do? What could you have done differently? Would it have made a difference?

Are You Your Own Perpetrator?

When we feel like a victim, we often beat ourselves up. Judgment and self-criticism is not productive. Stop beating yourself up and ask questions instead. You will feel better. I promise. Your energy will move and you will feel more whole.

Pain can be an incredible motivator. It certainly was for me. Pain was what spurred me onto healing my past emotional trauma from abuse. It took a long time for me because it was before coaching; I did my healing alone. I tried many different things till I found the best combination for moving energy quickly. Through my personal work, I developed a program to help people heal quickly.

Learning hypnotherapy and energy healing helped me release trapped emotions, blocks depression, and anxiety. Now I use these
modalities along with the Akashic Records to help people release their emotions, blocks and limiting beliefs with greater speed and ease. The Akashic Records help as I channel information from The Ascended Masters about what your core issues are.

Why Are We Here?

The bottom line is, you are here to heal, grow and evolve. In the process of growing, giving back to the universe makes you feel purposeful, and fulfilled. When we are fulfilled we live in joy. We feel we are doing something for the good of all, rather than for selfishness. Evolution is our soul purpose. Recognizing who you truly are, being authentic, vulnerable, loving and accepting is the goal.

Loving you is what will bring you peace, total acceptance and draw wonderful experiences to you. When you do, you will be in full bloom, firing on all cylinders. I await your phone call to be an emissary of light for your growth.

With all the love that I AM,

Jennifer

Is Someone A Pain In Your Ass?

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Yoda and me, January 2014

Problems? Do you bitch, Moan or Complain?

If you have been reading my blog for any time, you would know that this little guy, Yoda in the photo above trotted into our lives
and our household has not been the same since. I used to be able to meditate with Karma, our older Border collie mix laying next to me quietly whether it was in my office or out in the desert. I could create videos with Karma in the room or even on location without any problem. I also used to be able to focus on my writing for hours on end without a break. Karma is 14. She is the most intelligent four-legged friend I have ever had. She is also the most well behaved. CONTRAST helps us recognize how great we had it before.

Yoda has shown us the contrast between himself and Karma. We recognize what a wonderful well-behaved dog she is. She doesn't mess in the house. She doesn't pee on the carpets and she doesn't yap. We loved Karma before, but we love her and recognize how wonderful she is because of the contrast between her and a much younger puppy.

I am in the middle of writing and completing my book: Orgasm for Life. This book is shaping up to be a great resource for anyone wanting to be a better lover, husband or wife. Writing a book takes focus, concentration and attention. Yoda has made that very challenging.

Yesterday while I was writing, he let me know he needed to go outside. The puppy came back to the door and scratched to let me know he wanted to come back in. He often returns indoors and promptly pees on the carpet. That is when I say "he is a pain in the ass." He likes to have someone stand outside with him watching him pee. I continued to write, knowing I had to get Ariel to school and had only a few more minutes to finish a chapter. Ariel began loading her school bag and belongings into the car and gathering keys to lock up our house. She put Karma in the car and I asked where Yoda was. Ariel said he was inside the house. I knew that was not the case. I looked all over our fenced in yard. Yoda was not inside the fence. All of a sudden I was flooded with anguish. We live near a busy road. The post office is just down the street. Yoda has never been allowed outside of our fenced in yard off a leash. He had absolutely no street sense at all! I ran out of the gate asking the first man I saw if he had seen a little black puppy. He nodded he had and pointed towards the post office.

I ran to a pick-up truck I was guided to. I felt Yoda's energy there recently. I rapped on the window just as the driver was rolling it up. He looked at me and nodded when I asked if he had seen a little black puppy. He said he had him in the back bed of his truck for about 15 minutes. He commented further that a woman dressed in business attire had taken him with her to find his owner.

He accompanied me into the post office and we asked the post master about the woman. He kindly gave me her address (off the record - this was amazing!) He could have said no way Jose!

I ran home, got the Honda and Ariel and I drove immediately to the woman's home. She was a delightful woman who had her own dog. She had given Yoda some water and said he was absolutely not afraid of her dog. She knew he had an owner - even though there was no collar to give her this information. She had called her son asking him to come and help her to find his owner. To say I was relieved was an understatement.

I recognized that my grumbling about Yoda being a pain in the butt created this situation. Did I really want him? Yoda was saying to me, if I didn't want him he would find another place to be where he was wanted. The Universe was offering a solution. He could have ended up at the pound and in the arms of another little girl.

Grumbling and complaining causes our worlds to be in chaos. Complaining about those we love could cause them to go somewhere else. Do you grumble, complain or bitch about your wife, lover, husband, job or children? Do you ever wish for freedom? Where do you find yourself grumbling or complaining? Complaining could mean that The Universe will offer a solution to your complaining. The solution could be one that you don't like. (Comment below about where you have a similar issue.)

Did I learn my lesson? You betcha! I will be much more careful about my thoughts and words. We all know this stuff, we just need a reminder. I am glad to be of service in this way (tee hee).  Be careful because complaining could cause what you are complaining about to GO AWAY! Appreciation and gratitude for what we DO HAVE brings us more of what we want.

Thank you God! Thank you Universe! Thank you kind neighbors!

Is your love like the desert?

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Mojave desert, where I live currently

Sharp comments, prickly personality?

I was recently walking with my dog, Karma along the dry dusty trail into the mountains just north of my home. I was thinking about the way I used to be in my relationships. Reactive, bitchy, prickly, dry, no sense of humor and very hot and angry to the touch when someone pointed out my faults. I used to hurt anyone who tried to get close to me, because I was hurting.

We can be touchy and reactive when we hold onto our emotions. We cry for example, to relieve stress and pressure that builds inside us from break-ups, difficult life events, grief, sadness and upset. When our emotions are stuffed inside of us we become reactive. We cannot take the slightest recommendation or suggestion without being reactive - like the desert.

We have prickly plants and trees here, like the Joshua tree for example. It is only found in the Mojave desert (pronounced Mohave).  If you leaned against one of these babies, you could be seriously hurt. I liken the Joshua trees to us when we lash out at someone when they corrects us, or suggest another way.

Having to be right all the time, can cause you to lose friends and lovers. This need comes from your ego. When your ego runs the show, you will not fare well in relationships.

T. Harve Ecker, of the Millionaire Mind fame, used to say, would you rather be right, or would you rather be rich? I say, would you rather be right, or would you rather be loved? Being right can make you a very lonely person. You become very prickly and people don't want to lean up against you, or be with you. Bitchy, prickly, same thing.
Even the weeds in the desert have thorns on them. These thorns fall off to procreate the plant, so that it doesn't die out. The thorns are called goat's heads. We get them in our feet when we walk around barefoot.

When we are touchy and reactive, we are coming from our ego and our pain. We are not connected to our hearts. We can be very lonely in this place of being a victim, feeling that everyone is out to get us, or hurt us. It is simply not true. It just appears that way to us, because all we can see is pain.

When we are hurt and don't heal from it, we carry this pain into everything we do. Pain is what colors our world. It is all the same, everywhere we turn, like the desert. As far as the eye can see, it is colorless, empty, remote. Just like us.

The wind picks up here, causing change, turbulence, dust storms and vortexes of sand in the updrafts. You can't see when the dust and sand is flying in the air. It blurs our vision. Just as our pain blurs our vision. When we hang onto our pain, it defines us. Yet this is false. It is not true, we just think it is.

There is beauty here, but it is often fleeting, disguised or hidden. It is not seen often. When we are bitchy, reactive and thorny we make it difficult for others to see our beauty. We disguise our softness under our suffering and pain. As things begin to change, we often hang on, to the past, not wanting to move forward. We act out of fear of the unknown. Our resistance to change causes us to suffer even more. What we don't recognize in our pain is that we don't have to suffer, all we have to do is let go, forgive and move forward into the wind.

When our suffering gets so great that we recognize we need to change, this is the driving force to heal. That is where I come in. Aren't you ready to let go of your pain and suffering? My pain used to define me. I used to describe myself as a SURVIVOR! Now I describe myself as an Adventurer, a lover of life, an ambassador of light. I prefer the latter. Wishing you a joyful, day moving forward into the wind. When you do, the wind will be at your back instead of in your face.

How a Break-up Can Be A GOOD Thing

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters
Angry couple

A break-up can be the best thing that ever happened.

A broken heart is one of the most painful experiences a human can have. It hurts. It feels as if the world is ending. Your world as you know it certainly is. The more vested you were in the relationship the more it hurts.

Sometimes we are half in a relationship. We feel certain that there is someone else out there that is more suited to us than the person we are with. If you have been unfaithful in your relationship, this was probably the case. When you are fully vested and committed affairs are not the norm. When only partially vested, we see the benefit of the break-up, the change happened and was taken care of for us.  When we are fully vested, we are fully committed and feel that the person we were with was THE ONE. Losing this person could totally change your life.

If everything you have ever dreamed of, all your future goals involved your partner, losing them means that your life is going to be radically different. Your dream of having children together and growing old together is gone. Sadness and loss will be experienced deeply. It is important to allow yourself time to really release them. There is always positive and negative in a relationship. Sometimes there is more negative than positive. Looking into what you learned afterward can be very cathartic. Focusing on the gift in the break-up can help you move forward. Each relationship teaches us something about ourselves. Focusing blame on one party does not take into account that there were two people in the relationship. There is always a lesson learned. Being grateful for the time together and the lesson will help you move on.

There are NO MISTAKES, only lessons

Each relationship is a lesson. When we begin to look at the experience as something that helped us grow, and see ourselves in a different light, we begin to understand the purpose of our relationships. Change is a constant. People change. Relationships change. We change. Expecting a relationship to last forever is a fairy tale. Even in a healthy beautiful supportive relationship, there is death at the end that separates us. Seeing the perfection in each moment, that everything is happening as it needs to, in the perfect time.

Acceptance

Allowing our partner to be who they are, rather than trying to change them is a loving act. Sometimes at the end of our relationship experience we recognize that we did not accept our partner completely as they were. We are able to see what we have learned from this experience. We have grown and learned what our patterns are. We have learned our weaknesses and strengths. We also gain clarity about what we want and don't want in our next relationship. Writing down our must haves and drop dead will not haves helps us notice our patterns when we begin to date. If we continue to attract the same type of person in our next relationship it is because we have not healed our issues. We have more work to do. Relationships are all about focusing on our inner selves. This is how we grow and become our highest and best version of us.

When a door closes, a window opens

If you have considered moving to a different country or state, now is a good time to make a clean break. You can start brand new, with a new career, new friends, new environment where nothing reminds you of the other person. You will always have memories, but not running into this person can help you focus on healing and moving on.

Challenges are Opportunities

The ending of a relationship can be a wake-up call. We recognize the areas where we need help or support. We can do a post mortem of our relationship and see where we could have done better. Sometimes, we give too much of ourselves and don't recognize it until our relationship ends. When we give too much we lose ourselves and then feel resentful.

Being a people pleaser is part of co-dependence. Co-dependent relationships occur when one or both parties put aside their personal needs and put the relationship ahead of everything else. This is a great time to hire a coach to clear up the issues and challenges that have plagued all your relationships. Healing the past will change the future. Use this time to get to know yourself on a deeper level.

Spending Time Alone Can Be The Biggest Gift

Time alone will help you to heal. Solitude after a break up gives you time to search your soul. You can look back at the events that led up to the demise of your relationship and see where you weren't true to yourself. Often we change ourselves to be more of what we think our partner would want us to be. When we act like our partner wants us to, we are not authentic. When we are inauthentic, we put our own needs aside, but moreover it is exhausting. Trying to be someone other than who you are is not healthy. The more authentic you can be, the more intimate your next relationship will be.

The biggest personal growth happens after a break up. Take the time to write, dig deep and look inside to see where you were not true to yourself? Did you give too much? Did you give up friends, family or a job? Don't jump into bed with the next live body you see to drown your sorrow and grief. This could lead to another relationship when you have not even begun to heal from this one. For every two years in the relationship you need one year to heal. If you enter into another relationship before you have time to heal and recover you will attract another lonely, empty person. Two lonely empty people do not create a good relationship.

Abuse

Leaving an abusive relationship can be very difficult. Be thankful that you got away safely. There are two people in an abusive relationship. One is the victim and one is the perpetrator. If you are a victim, you have work to do and issues to heal. Jumping right into another relationship will bring you another relationship with similar issues. You have to do inner work and get some help to recognize where you did not respect yourself. A coach that is familiar with abuse, or had abuse in their own past and has recovered would be beneficial for you. If you were the abuser, you also have issue to heal and work to do. This is deep work and very difficult to do on your own.

Forgiveness

When you are ready, you need to forgive yourself and your partner. Holding onto unresolved pain, anger and betrayal will attract it into your next relationship. I recommend a simple Kahuna healing prayer to forgive. Always begin with yourself when you are doing any kind of healing. Forgive yourself first. Spend about 20 - 40 minutes repeating the prayer thinking about the situation. Do the prayer slowly. When you feel complete stop. Come back and do the exercise again and again until you no longer feel a negative charge (or trigger).

I am sorry
Please forgive me
I love you
Thank you

Here are some ways to help you move on peacefully:
  1. Return and amicably split up belongings.
  2. Let go of anything that brings up painful memories.
  3. Delete them as friends on social media. Seeing posts from your partner can be very difficult, better that you let them go.
  4. Avoid phone calls and texting your partner unless absolutely necessary. Don't call them asking advice.
  5. If anyone asks, be kind don't bad mouth your ex.
  6. Take time for yourself - nurture yourself or go to the gym.
  7. Write in your journal. Expressing your feelings as you experience them, on paper will help release them. Your notes will help you to see how far you have come.
  8. Spend time with supportive friends.
  9. Eat healthy and get enough sleep.
  10. Stay busy. Do the things you put off and were too busy to do before.
  11. Recognize that everything happens for a reason and it is over. Thinking about reconciling at this time will bring you false hopes. LET IT GO.
  12. Spend time doing things you enjoy.
  13. Allow yourself time to cry. If you are feeling anger, allow yourself time to go to the top of a mountain, or a place away from others and do some cathartic screaming. You have to move these emotions in a healthy way or depression will result. Depression is the result of stuffed pain, with repressed anger on top.

If you have not risked everything, you have not loved completely.

Transformation into Enlightenment

Christmas Past: Before Enlightenment

Christmas has been a time of stress, anxiety and depression for me. I missed those that were not with me. I missed my children when they spent time with their father. I felt lonely even when all my loved ones were together. Something was missing and its absence made me feel blue.

I could not put my finger on whether it was a gift I had longed for and not received, or the fact that I could not buy everything my children wanted, although I surely tried. Each and every Christmas was filled with a longing, and an emptiness, until the Christmas of 2012.

Transformation

For some, enlightenment happens suddenly. My experience was a series of gradual shifts which raised me to higher levels of consciousness and expansion. From the time I read an assigned book Siddhartha by Hermann Hesse in school, I wanted to be enlightened. I knew despite what I read that it happened over lifetimes, I wanted to be enlightened in this one. When I interviewed the Buddhist, Lama Surya Das for Oracle 20-20 magazine after reading his book, Awakening The Buddha Within, I knew this could also happen for me. I wondered if I needed to become Buddhist to become enlightened. I studied Buddhism and other religions and discovered on my own that enlightenment is not about religion. It is not about dogma. It is not about belief.

Inner Work

I  worked diligently on myself. I took workshops and became a hypnotherapist and an energy healer. I began to receive strong guidance, which I had begun to follow and trust implicitly. I traveled from city to city teaching workshops as I was guided to do. I even make two long distance moves within a year, which worried my friends and family. The move to Boulder, Colorado in the fall of 2011 was the one that had the most profound impact on me.

Walking in the mountains and daily meditation, sometimes for hours catapulted me beyond the mundane existence of constant suffering. I spent most of my waking hours out in nature and in Spiritual practise. In May of 2012 I had a mystical experience that I heard later occurred for several saints and mystics. After two hours of meditating I felt compelled to lay down to sleep. It was unusual for me to sleep in the middle of the day, but my eyes kept closing and I finally gave in, crawling under the covers  at 11:00 AM. As I laid my head on my pillow my body began to dematerialize. I could feel my body turn into pure energy as I slipped into a deep expansive, limitless space. I likened this physical feeling to seeing Captain Kirk of the Enterprise say, "Beam me up Scotty!" As he did so his body became dots of pure energy. This was what I experienced. When I woke up I felt as if I had been in a coma. This was not like a normal "sleep."

A few days later, my son, David called me to tell me I showed up on one of the pool decks he was cleaning; in physical form over 1,500 miles away. My body was in bed in Colorado, yet I showed up in Atlanta, Georgia. To say this is a miracle is an understatement. I realized something was happening that I could not stop if I wanted to.

Awakening and enlightenment for most is a gradual thing. Events happen in your life, you experience the emotions, pain and sorrow and you learn, you surrender, and transform. Letting go of past pain, shame and grief, forgiving those that you perceive have hurt you, and loving with non-attachment all helps to move you through the density of our physical form.

Emotions and Feeling

I thought that I would not feel pain if I was enlightened. I thought that I would not feel anger. True, we cease to be governed by emotion, you still feel even more deeply. You are no longer attached to the emotion. It moves through you quickly and is gone. It was gradual. I experienced months of chaos, pain and suffering and then it was gone. I noticed the voices in my head were quiet. There was no running commentary or critique of each event. I did not have to get involved in other's drama or problems. I was happy doing simple things or doing nothing. I could be still and quiet. I did not have to be on the go. I found myself doing less and enjoying life more. The busy-ness  and the "doing" were not present. The pressure to perform within my head was not there any more.

Christmas Present: After Enlightenment

The gradual changes that I experienced the past three years culminated in enlightenment for me. I find joy in the smallest of things. I find beauty everywhere. I am happy no matter what my circumstances are. I appreciate everything and I love everyone. I see the Divine in everyone. Not only do I feel connected to The Divine, I feel no separation. God and I are ONE. This is what the ONENESS movement is all about. I am happy with me. I am happy alone. I am happy even though my two sons and daughters in law were not with me for Christmas. I feel full to overflowing instead of depleted. I am more grounded and present. I am happy even though the gifts were few. I am happy being isolated and far away from my mother and brothers. I do not feel lonely or alone. There is no emptiness or yearning. This is coming HOME.

In the place of longing, there is a feeling of fullness. There is no fear, there is no lack. I am not limited. There is love and acceptance and deep inner peace.

I am able to witness other's pain, yet not be entangled in it. I lovingly accept others as they are without having to judge or critique them. I am no longer embroiled in drama. I witness other's drama without reacting to it.

Levels of Expansion

I have witnessed and experienced tremendous growth within. Yet at the same time, I know I am not finished growing. I liken Spiritual growth to our educational system. We begin in nursery school, then move into elementary school. We continue through high school. Some people are content to stop at high school while others continue on to receive their Master's degree. I will ever be expanding and growing until the day I die. Even after death there is continued growth and inner work to be done, without the density of the physical body.
