Becoming Authentic

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Loved and happy untouched photo 7.2018

There was a time, I felt completely lost, uncomfortable in my own skin. I was afraid to allow others to see me as I was. I was afraid if I allowed anyone in close they wouldn't like me, never mind love me. I was sick a lot, in physical pain with Fibromyalgia, sinus infections and bladder infections. I was addicted to drama and had all kinds of financial issues. I was worried about what others thought of me and did everything in my power to make others happy.

Making decisions was a challenge, choosing for myself even more difficult and I often went to see psychics asking for their insight. I gave my power away to others and lived in constant fear.

What's different today? EVERYTHING! I live in a state of bliss, happiness, and contentment. My work brings me joy and fulfillment. I allow others to see me as I am, without being concerned about what they think or feel about me. Fear that once gripped me along with illness is completely GONE!

What did I do? I changed my thoughts. I stopped being negative and bashing myself. I began loving me with my words, thoughts, and actions. I focused on myself softly. The feeling of being lost is no longer. I never feel alone or lonely no matter where I am or how far away my friends and family are. I know who I am and I love myself completely. I look younger today than I did ten years ago.

Today, I help women and men feel better about who they are, allowing them to feel comfortable in their own skin, happy with who they truly are, drama free, positive and able to manifest with their thoughts easily. Visit my website or book an appointment with me.

15 Reasons Not To Walk Down The Aisle With Him

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Vera Wang Wedding Dress

Divorce statistics are staggering. According to The Huffington Post, thirty percent of women marry the wrong guy. I was one of them.

We dream of our perfect wedding day, walking down the aisle, to marry the man we will be happy with until the day we die. Yet for thirty percent of women, they know before they walk down the aisle that they are making a terrible mistake. Why do women tie the knot anyway?

Women continue to make plans and get married for the following reasons:

  • They feel marriage will magically fix any problem.
  • They feel their biological clock is ticking
  • Better this guy than no one.
  • They feel if it doesn't work, "I can always get a divorce."

Women are unsure what they feel is true. They focus on the future, thinking things will be different, when....They explain away the red flags. The wedding plans are already in motion and they don't want to be embarrassed by calling it off. The truth is that divorce has a higher cost than a wedding both financially and emotionally even before children are present. Here are my tried and true 15 reasons not to marry the guy:

1. You have caught him in lies repeatedly. Someone who lies habitually will continue to lie after marriage. Some liars are sociopaths and never change. Lying can be addictive and something that becomes a compulsion. A marriage built without trust is not a marriage of longevity. You can't build a happy marriage without trust. People rarely change. Hoping your relationship will be different after you marry is a fantasy. What you see is what you get. End it!

2. You are marrying his potential. Marrying a guy's potential is a mistake. We can hope a guy will reach the potential we see in him, but banking on it is a mistake. By thirty a predominant part of our personality is formed in stone. In Me Myself And Us The Science of Personality And The Art of Well-Being   by Brian R. Little, by the time we are thirty, we are pretty set in our ways. There is a very strong genetic component as well that contributes to who we are.

Thinking a guy will be different after marriage is delusional. Think of what you have now as the best of the best. Most people succumb to the humdrum of life and settle in, relax into the mundane of life and feel they are set now that they've got you.

3. He is terrible in bed. Selfishness in bed translates to someone who is not generous and only interested in themselves. A guy who isn't selfless in bed will continue to be so after marriage. A guy who isn't interested in pleasuring you till you orgasm before marriage is unlikely to transform after you walk down the aisle.

True story: Rachel and Wes had been dating for five years. They were engaged for one. When Rachel expressed that she wasn't getting to orgasm and that she needed more from him, Wes told her, "I'm good!" He wasn't interested in learning how to pleasure Rachel to the point of orgasm. He felt as long as he ejaculated that was enough. A guy who states he doesn't want to learn anything new, or change his skill set isn't marriage worthy. He is exhibiting a high level of selfishness and ego that won't change after marriage. END IT, SAVE THE YEARS OF MISERY.

She did! Rachel recognized that her pleasure was just as important as Wes's and it is! She ended their five year relationship because she realized Wes wouldn't change. He didn't value her enough to give her the pleasure he was getting.

4. He won't try what you suggest in bed. In spite of what some men think, women aren't just guys with vaginas. A woman's sexual needs are different than a guy's. It takes on average twenty to forty minutes for a woman to warm up to be able to orgasm. If your guy lasts two minutes and says, "I'm done," he isn't doing his job. Both parties need to receive pleasure to the point of orgasm (unless a man is holding his seed).

Are Men Getting The Most Pleasure In Bed?

5. He makes it only about himself. Narcissists can be alluring and even seductive. However, one of the most difficult relationships we can have is when partnered with a narcissist. Narcissists will not take responsibility for their actions because they believe they are never wrong. They will make you feel crazy because they manipulate to get what they want and will never apologize because they never feel they are wrong. DON'T DO IT, YOU WILL BE ENDLESSLY SORRY YOU DIDN'T END THIS NIGHTMARE BEFORE MARRIAGE.

6. His past is sketchy. If a guy won't speak about his past, consider this a huge red flag not to be ignored. A person's past often dictates their future. Morals are learned at home; if his father was a philanderer and he cheated on his ex he will probably cheat on you.

7. You had an affair with him when he was married previously. An ill-begotten relationship will end the way it began, with him cheating on you with another woman.

8. He has a different faith than you. If you believe in something and he doesn't you will have challenges throughout your relationship with issues other than faith.

9. He doesn't have a job and isn't looking. Marrying someone who isn't working or looking is a serious issue. Do you plan on doling out money and alimony after your marriage ends to continue supporting him? A man's character is evident in the way he lives his life. Choose a man who works and is responsible and self-supporting. Someone who is unemployed and irresponsible now will probably also be in the future.

10. He has anger issues that he can't control. Anger present before marriage will be present afterward. Marriage isn't the magic potion that eradicates a person's personality and issues. Anger present prior to marriage will only get worse.

I married a man who had anger issues. Each time, he promised he would be different. He punched holes in walls and sometimes in me. His father had anger issues, his brother committed murder. He was a spiritual man who tried everything to release the anger. He died an angry man.

Anger is a serious issue that doesn't go away. It takes years of committed work to heal and release anger, for others there is never any change.

11. He whines and complains. Whining is a sign of a closet homosexual or someone hiding their homosexuality. Don't get me wrong, I have nothing against people choosing to play for their own team, just don't marry someone who isn't attracted to women, this will never change.

I married a man who hid his homosexuality because he was raised Baptist. He couldn't admit he was gay even to himself. After six months of marriage, he stopped having sex with me. Read my article Men Who Hide Their Homosexuality And Marry A Straight Woman.

12. He's unhappy with life. Marriage will not make someone happy that isn't. Your love won't make him any happier after you marry him. Don't do it!

I recently dated a man who was well-paid, drove a really nice car and lived in a beautiful home, but he was miserable. When I told him I was manifesting something wonderful he peed in my Cheerios. He was a naysayer who poo-pooed everything I said and did. Someone who is unhappy will make you unhappy as well.

Don't marry someone that isn't happy with himself and life. JEM

13. Your core values aren't in alignment. When our core values aren't in alignment we don't speak the same language. Marriage is difficult enough when two people are on the same page, singing the same tune. When we don't have the same core values we disagree about having and raising children, which church to go to and what our beliefs are. If you don't know what your core values are now, find out here.  5 Reasons You Need To Know Your Core Values

14. He has an addiction. Addictions are serious business. It can take a lifetime and longer for some people to decide they want to be clean. Addictions are dark with a deep-seated self-hatred. People who hate themselves are very difficult to have relationships with. The expression, "Once an Addict Always An Addict," came from the truth that addictions can last longer than a lifetime.

Why You Shouldn't Do Cartwheels To Keep Someone

I have heard countless women tell me, "He's not an alcoholic he only drinks beer!" I have a neighbor who only drinks beer, but drinks sixteen tall boys a night. It doesn't matter if his addiction is pot, acid, porn, masturbation, cocaine, heroin, beer, wine or hard alcohol.

An addiction is an addiction. It takes many years of dedication, courage, hard work, and stick-to-iveness to overcome any addiction. Once an addict is clean the anger and emotions are the next biggest challenge. A rejection of the self and lack of self-love is the core of any addiction. Your love can't cure him. Set him free and work on your issues of enabling instead.

15. You are fighting often before marriage. Thinking someone will be different and more to your liking after marriage is a fantasy. Where else are you in denial about the truth? Marriage doesn't make a relationship easier, it is often much more difficult after you tie the knot than before.

Marriage isn't a magic potion. Marriage is a certificate on paper that makes it legal for you to be together, that is all. In many instances as soon as the wedding is over couples recognize they have made a terrible mistake. When brides focus on the wedding, they forget what the marriage is beyond the one day of bliss. A wedding lasts one day, a marriage can be for years and a lifetime if you are really lucky and work diligently on your issues, growing together.

A marriage doesn't mean the work is over, in fact the hardest part is yet to come. Once you hit the two-year mark people settle into being more authentic. Often the masks come off an one or both are shocked to find they married someone they didn't know at all.

I Want To Know What Love Is

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

For so many people today, heartache and pain are what they think of when they think of love. Why is that? Why do relationships cause us such issues? We want to be loved, or do we? Sometimes I wonder because I see people pushing love away. Our fear of being hurt causes us to push the very thing we desire away. I have done it too.

When we have traumatic experiences in our past, and everybody does, we hold the energy of the past in our cellular body. The emotions from the breakups, nasty divorces, and horrible dates in our tissues. Until we can let go completely and forgive those who we perceive have hurt us we really can't experience love because we have a wall built which keep us from allowing a new person close to us.

We can't be vulnerable and risk everything when we experience fear. Fear blocks us from letting go, and able to receive love.

I know from my past experience that I wasn't authentic for most of my life. I acted like I thought others wanted me to be. I faked it. I faked orgasms; I faked happiness, I faked being. When I finally let go of caring what others thought of me is when I recognized I liked myself and it didn't matter what anyone else thought. My self-esteem came from me, not from the validation I had previously desired from my mother or others.

Healing our past allows us to become completely naked in front of another. The naked I am talking about is the ability to be completely vulnerable and seen by our partner, naked with our clothes. Most people wear a mask and don't allow someone new to see the real person under the subterfuge. Our fear of not being accepted for who we are keeps us acting the way we think our date wants us to be.

When we aren't authentic at the beginning of a relationship, our relationship is doomed to failure because eventually, we have to let our guard down and be real. When we finally show up, our partner will wonder who the heck they fell in love with? Authenticity is the key to feeling and receiving love. Until we can be real with another, we are faking life and not going to receive real love.
Softening And Becoming Real

The softer and more authentic we can be, the better. Our relationships build trust when we are authentic. The fear of not being liked or loved is from the past. When we love ourselves, the experience of receiving love from another isn't so scary.

Letting go of the false pretenses and faked orgasms allow us to sink in to be grounded in our true self. If someone doesn't like who we are - NEXT! There will be someone who does. Don't waste your precious energy trying to be someone you aren't to be loved. If you have to turn yourself into a pretzel to find love, it isn't real. The more you that you can be, the more real your relationship will be also. All relationships have some conflict.

We aren't going to always agree with one another. Thinking that love means a relationship without conflict is a fairy tale. Knowing how to communicate lovingly when those challenges arise is one of the facets of my work. I help couples navigate the sticky situations and complexities of relationships. Being fearless certainly helps, and that is certainly something I help my clients be.

Dumbing It Down

When we act less intelligent, or less sexual than we are, we are attempting to dumb down the truth of ourselves. We are faking it. I faked it with one of my husbands. He was insecure about himself and his sexuality. He wasn't ready for a woman who was passionate, and powerful. I had to hold back and act like a Puritan. He was a macho man who had to be in charge. We didn't click at all. Our marriage was volatile because of the constant power struggle.

Afraid To Be Alone?

Many fish in the sea!

There are other options than to attempt to be someone you are not just to try and make this relationship work. When we let go of one relationship and allow ourselves to be seen, it won't be long before a new love comes along that takes you to a higher place where you can connect to the depth of your soul. There are lots of fish in the sea. Find the right fish for you. Don't settle for less. You deserve love. You deserve to be loved for who you are, as you are. Of course, the flip side of the coin is that we have to accept our partner as they are as well.

Recognizing Fear of Intimacy How To Move Beyond Your Fears

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Fear of intimacy keeps many of us, from having deeply connected relationships. A fear of allowing someone close to us means we don't allow others to see our true feelings or our authentic selves. In this article, I will share my personal experiences and how I overcame and continue to work on this issue.

What is Fear of Intimacy?

Fear of intimacy is an unconscious fear of closeness -  emotional and or physical. A fear of intimacy shows up in our closest relationships. It affects our ability to allow someone close to us both physically and emotionally.

We may long for a loving relationship, but when we have one we may have difficulties allowing someone to see our true selves. In order to have deep intimacy with another we need to drop our defenses and allow the other to see us up close, without a mask, shield or wall.

Just because you have sex with someone does not negate the fact that you have a fear of intimacy. You may be able to have sex with someone and then recoil - pulling away from their new lover. Many one-night stands happen due to a fear of intimacy.

You Can Be Married And Have A Fear Of Intimacy

People in long-term relationships can have sex, but still have a fear of intimacy. Others stop having sex because of their fears. Many people live alone rather than engage intimately with others.

Fear of death increases the fear of intimacy. If you are afraid your partner may die ahead of you, you could pull away out of fear of loss.

How Do We Develop This Fear?

Emotional trauma in our childhood sets us up to feel that we aren't safe. Rejection, emotional abandonment, and physical abandonment, as well as sexual trauma and rape, can create a fear of intimacy.

As children, we may shut down emotionally and develop fantasies, imaginary friends and play better alone than with friends. We may shun others, in an effort to protect our feelings, becoming the lone wolf, or black sheep of the family.

After being hurt we feel afraid we will be hurt again. We may feel hurt, unheard and misunderstood. After being hurt in our childhood we learn to be suspicious and mistrust others when they express an interest or love for us.

Many children are told to be quiet when they express feelings of sadness, anger or even joy. When we learn to repress feelings, it becomes a way of being, so we shut down our feelings.

What Are Signs of A Fear of Intimacy?

  1. Your retreat from affection.
  2. You make yourself unattractive to push your partner away.
  3. You might gain weight to make yourself unattractive.
  4. You say no to sex.
  5. You have sex, but are completely disconnected from the emotional side of it.
  6. You may feel dead inside.
  7. You may feel numb.
  8. You keep your eyes closed during sex, without connecting on an intimate level with eyes open - soul-to-soul.
  9. You fantasize about other people.
  10. Create emotional distance by keeping things that bother you to yourself.
How Can I Overcome My Fear of Intimacy?

  1. Allow yourself to be seen as you are authentically.
  2. Talk about the issues that trouble you compassionately and openly.
  3. Allow your eyes to remain open and really look at your
    partner while making love
    .
  4. Do eye-gazing exercises beginning with one-minute intervals. Build up to longer periods of time, allowing your partner to
    really see you.
  5. When you feel uncomfortable about letting down your guard, stay with it, rather than run away.
  6. Allow yourself to be held, hugged and kissed.
  7. Talk about the elephant in the room. When we have a fear of intimacy we stuff our biggest issues, rather than bringing them up for discussion. Resist your desire to run away. Stay with them, keep your eyes open and resist turning away during the discussion.

We may feel because of our unconscious programming that we are unworthy of love or unlovable. Many of my clients have both of these unconscious programs running in the background of their unconscious minds. These patterns can be healed.

We can stop being afraid of love and move forward anyway. We can allow ourselves to take risks, opening up to the possibility of something better and deeper than we have had before.

I was one of those who used to have a fear of intimacy. Even though I loved sex, I wasn't connecting on a deep level with my partner.

My past trauma both from molestation and the emotional abandonment created this fear. I played alone much of the time, creating
fantasies, playing school with imaginary students as a child. Having a caring partner who is willing to accept me for who I am has allowed me to open up more fully, receive love from him and allow myself to be seen authentically. If I can do it, so can you!

It can be done. Let me help you.

7 Ways to Shift Your Relationship Quickly

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

When we are dating, we often overlook the negative. We might brush issues we need to comment on under the carpet because we don't want to ruin what we believe we have. At the beginning of a relationship, we lay the groundwork for boundaries, communication, and appreciation. We teach the person we are dating how we want to be treated by being kind, generous and considerate to them. When we don't call someone on their bad behavior, we are doing ourselves a disservice. We are also training our partner that poor treatment is okay with us. This is where abusive treatment begins.

As time goes on, the bad behavior often goes from bad to worse. Things are usually the best early on in our relationships because each of us is on our best behavior. If you are not setting up healthy boundaries when you are dating, it will become increasingly difficult to do it later.

In mature relationships, we sometimes snap, gripe and complain to our partners. We can use a condescending tone when we get irritated. We can make demands rather than requests. When we demand, we block love. When we use a condescending tone, as if we are exasperated with our partner, we are acting like the parent, rather than an equal.

Communication Inside The Bedroom

Trying to get your needs met in the bedroom can be very difficult if you don't have an open channel of honesty. Compassion, and appreciation go a long way to show our partner kindness. However, if they don't get what you need and you aren't getting your needs met, a conversation needs to take place BEFORE you get into the bedroom.

Following are 7 Ways To Shift Your Relationship Quickly

  1. Appreciate him/her when your partner does something for you. Say, "Thank you." Smile and make eye contact to show you mean it. Appreciation is one of the most important issues to men. If they are not being appreciated they will feel unloved.
  2. Be respectful. Giving your partner the respect they deserve will shift your relationship quickly. If you talk down to your partner or they talk down to you, you won't feel respected. Mutual respect is a requirement of a happy and healthy balanced relationship.
  3. Validate them. If your partner isn't feeling well, or is having a bad day, they need to be validated for their feelings. Saying, "I'm sorry you are having a bad day today, is there anything I can do to help you feel better?" Usually, they will say no or maybe ask for a hug. The most important issue is that you have validated their feelings. Telling someone they can't or shouldn't feel a certain way will lead to feeling unimportant and even angry.
  4. Touch your partner in non-sexual ways. There are times when we need to be hugged, have our shoulder touched or even our hand held to know we are loved from more than being a sexual partner. Non-sexual touching keeps intimacy alive in the relationship. For you men out there than think intimacy means sex, it doesn't. Emotional closeness is what intimacy is. Allowing the other person close to you at others times than when sex is occurring will show that they are loved.
  5. Make loving eye contact. In today's fast-paced world, many people rarely look each other in the eyes. Take the time to look at your lover in the eyes when you speak to them. Eye contact allows another to see into your soul. If you can't allow them in, you won't have close sexual intimacy either.
  6. Be honest. Honesty is important if you want to have a deep connection. Lies create distance. Allowing another to hear the truth may hurt at first, but over time, your relationship will deepen and become more connected if you don't have lies and distance between you.
  7. Be authentic. Pretending to be something you are not, or faking anything (even that you like football when you don't) creates a disconnect. You will not have deep intimacy and connection if you are not allowing your partner to see the real you.

The Joy Of Giving Presence

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

The holidays can be a beautiful time to connect with loved ones, share laughter and our presence. To many, the holidays can be extremely stressful - even depressing. The holidays reveal to us what is amiss in our lives, showing us what we need to focus on.

I remember Christmases past when I tried desperately to make everyone around me happy. I fussed over gifts and wrapping. I caused myself stress looking for the "perfect" gift for each of my loved ones. There was always someone that wished for something other than what I chose for them.

My oldest son was the most difficult to please. I would wait in anticipation for his facial expression when he opened his gifts. I was often depressed after the gifts were opened, even though we were all together. My focus was on the gifts, rather than the
presence. I was not in the present. I tried to make others happy. It was an impossible task, one that I have gratefully let go of. It is not our responsibility to "make" anyone happy. The only one we are truly responsible for is us.

Being Happy With Who We Are

It is interesting that in the act of becoming, there is a letting go involved. Allowing ourselves to be really seen by our loved ones, offers a transparent version of ourselves, without subterfuge, barriers or phoniness. Offering others our vulnerability allows them to get close, revealing our authentic presence.

We have to let go of people pleasing. We have to let go of trying to be perfect, or to find the perfect gift. There will always be someone that will be disappointed with what we have given, or how we have given it. We can't be ourselves when we focus on others happiness or comfort all the time. We cannot be happy with us, when we make others' happiness our responsibility. We cannot be happy with us when we are constantly trying to please others. We cannot be happy with our lives when we refuse to let others see our true self.

Everything will line up perfectly when knowing and living the truth becomes more important than looking good. ~Alan Cohen

What Is Authenticity, Really?

When you are authentic, you are you all of the time. There is no other way for you to be, but completely you. You are not one way around one group of friends and another around those in the office. You are the same at home with your neighbors as you are on a
plane, in a supermarket or in a beauty salon. There is no effort involved remembering what you have been or acted like with whom. The only way you can show up anywhere is by being truly you, rather than a version of what you want to show the world. When we can be vulnerable and real with ourselves and others we become truly present, sharing our presence with the world and those we love.

The authentic self is the soul made visible. ~Sarah Ban Breathnach

How Do We Feel When We Are NOT Authentic?

When we are inauthentic we feel out of sync with our values, preferences and abilities. We might feel uncomfortable in our own skin, because we strive to be something that we are not. The need for everything to be perfect may pervade our lives, which is exhausting. We often try to run away from who we truly are, which leads to avoidance in other areas of our lives. We avoid being vulnerable because we don't want others to see our soft chewy tootsie roll center. When we avoid situations we cannot possibly be present fully. We are not sharing our authentic presence.

It Takes Guts - But It Is So Worth It!

Being authentic liberates us from trying to be perfect, or something we are not. Stepping out into the void of the virtual unknown is required. We need to face our inner demons. We need to know and understand ourselves to be authentic. Often the very thing we are afraid to let go of is who we think we need to be versus, who we truly are. Letting go of our concern about what others think of us is freeing. Liberating is the goal, letting go of control  is the way.

Authenticity requires us to accept all of ourselves, rather than just the best or smartest parts. Being authentic is embracing our humanity. It is a recognition that we are all human.

What About Our Mistakes?

We have all made choices and decisions that didn't turn out the way we hoped. All of those experiences are part of who we are. Whether it was a relationship or marriage that didn't last, an education we don't use, our experiences teach us more about ourselves. Looking at our experiences without judgment and recrimination is required. We begin to recognize that our past does not have to equal our future.  Our past offered us lessons and gifts that help us make better choices through our personal inner discovery. Our self observation and inner journey is on-going. It never ends. We constantly morph and change with each new day. That is the wonderful thing about change. We can allow ourselves infinite possibilities each and every day.

Acceptance of our imperfection is the cornerstone of being totally real with ourselves. With the acceptance of all of you, comes the recognition of your talents, abilities and gifts. Rather than being fake, shallow or a card-board one dimensional being, you see the multi-faceted beauty of the genuine you. Acceptance allows happiness to flow in, where control was previously.

Running Away

We can run, but we can't hide. We always show up wherever we are. We cannot run from the chaos of our lives anymore than we can run away from ourselves or choices.

Sex and Authenticity

Orgasms and pleasure can allude you when you are inauthentic. Faking orgasm is inauthentic. It is not being true to yourself or your partner. If you fake orgasm, you also fake other areas of your life. Get real, be honest and let go of inauthenticity. (Read my book)

3 Steps To Living Authentically with Presence

  1. Evaluate what you truly care about. What are the most important things in your life? Align yourself with those criteria. Don't allow others to pull you off your center. Sometimes we base our lives and beliefs on what our parents believed. When we really examine these core beliefs, are they truly ours?
  2. Let go of judgment. Often we judge things that are different than ourselves or that we don't understand. Judgement is a rigid way of thinking. Looking at others and especially ourselves without the magnifying glass of harsh criticism will allow us and others to be human and imperfect. We will stop running away from ourselves and being more present when we become more accepting.
  3. Pay attention to the way your body feels. When you are in alignment with your core beliefs you can feel it. Your body feels good, comfortable and grounded. Your body will never lie to you. It will however let you know when you are out of alignment. Paying attention to people or events that don't concern you can often cause you to feel stressed, or out of alignment. Notice when you get upset. Are you upset with someone else's actions or your judgment of them? Ask,  "is this really my concern? Do I need to take this on?" You have the power to change the way you react to situations and how you feel. How you think about things causes your reactions. Always come back to your inner being. How do I feel? What is making me feel this way? Can I process this differently? How can I change the way I feel about this? How can I go with the flow of life instead of trying to make things happen a certain way.

The Heart Connection

When you are authentic you connect deeply with other people. People feel the truth of who you are. They see it in your eyes. Being authentic changes your interactions from superficial to deep and meaningful connections. You let go of what others think of you. You stop taking everything so personally. People will remember you for being genuine. Not everyone is ready to be authentic or vulnerable. It can make some very nervous and uncomfortable. Accepting the fact that we will never be perfect can be challenging for some. Being authentic and offering your presence to another is the biggest gift of all. You connect heart-to-heart. Love is what joins us together. In the presence of love, there is no fear. True love is all about acceptance. We cannot have real love when we don't love and/or accept ourselves the way we are. Being true to yourself will bring you lasting happiness that striving for perfection or people pleasing never will.

You Hold The Key

You are already worthy. You are already loveable. We all just want to be loved and accepted. The first person we have to learn to love and accept is us. Remember to give yourself permission to be imperfect. We are human after all, by definition, we are that. You already have everything that you need inside of you. You are whole, perfect, loving, kind, harmonious and beautiful. Enjoy the gift of giving your presence.

Finding True Love - Separation From Those That Aren't

By Jennifer Elizabeth Masters

Everyone wants love. We want to be appreciated for who we are. We want to be respected and accepted and loved unconditionally. When those things are not in place, or we are asked to be something other than who we are, should we stay? (You might want to listen to this interview about loving, communication and how to heal conflict: The Janet Love Show: Interview with Jennifer Elizabeth Masters )

Are You A Committer?

Some of us are committers. We commit. We are committed before we even know the intentions of the other. We commit when we don't know the other person's character or personality. We commit before we are sure. We commit and stop dating others going as far as assuming the other person has committed to us also. Sometimes the people we attract are NEVER committed to us, in the same way we are to them. Some people cannot be faithful and don't bother trying. Lying and cheating is a character flaw. Don't assume that your love will change them. Get out while you still can.

Co-dependent Seeking Any Kind of Love

Codependent people need to have someone in their life to feel complete. Many of us accept any kind of treatment, just to have a relationship. If a relationship makes you feel bad about yourself, or the other person is putting you down, this is not beneficial. A healthy relationship will enhance your life, rather than detract. Looking for the White Knight to come and rescue you is codependent thinking. You attract what you are. Take responsibility for your life. You are not a victim. You are powerful beyond measure.

Showing Up Wanting To Be Filled

If you feel like you have a hole inside you, and are looking for someone to fill it, you are putting a huge amount of pressure on someone else. This means you are showing up wanting another to MAKE YOU HAPPY. This is an impossible feat. No one other than YOU can make YOU happy. Instead of continuing to look for someone to fulfill you, go within Grasshopper. Turn your focus inside. Get to know, love and accept the beautiful person you are. When you love and accept ALL of yourself completely you will then attract another who is positive, loving, honest, in integrity like you. You can only attract what you are. So be the best you can be at being and loving you - first.

Don't Want To Do Inner Work?

Don't like my advice? When we feel half full, or even empty we attract another who needs to be filled up. We attract people with low esteem, who could and most likely have all kinds of addictions. Addictions could be anything from alcoholism, drug abuse, shopping addiction, food addiction, work addiction, sex addiction to gambling addiction. When low self esteem is involved one party is usually the enabler, while the other is the addict. Addictions can involve deep seated anger, coupled with low self esteem which is a dangerous cocktail destined for emotional, and/or physical abuse.

It Has To Begin With YOU!

From my personal experience, until I completely loved and accepted myself I attracted all of the above and then some. With each relationship, when we don't get our lesson, The Universe will send us more and more difficult and challenging relationships. It is like being hit over the head with a Jack-hammer. I had men who physically abused me, were addicted to work, alcohol and sports. Constantly trying to prove themselves with affairs, lying and cheating. I am a slow learner. I finally got it. I was attracting what I was emitting: low self esteemed partners with addictions. I was addicted to love, relationships and being rescued. AHA! Is this you?

Someone Wants You To Change

If someone expects you to be different than you are authentically, this is a huge red flag. It takes a lifetime of working on our integrity and character to be completely authentic. In the end, our integrity and authenticity is all we have. If someone does not love you for who you are, rip the band aid off now and leave. It will happen eventually, it might as well be now, it will be much less painful than later.

Continuing To Date Just To Have A Date?

There is nothing wrong with staying home by yourself. In fact, if you are dating people you know are wrong for you, it is better to stay at home. Sometimes we end up going out for drinks when we don't even drink. Our dates might be alcoholics or doing other things we don't feel comfortable with. If this is the case - JUST SAY NO!

My Psychic Prediction

Any relationship, business partnership or friendship where you are being asked to be anything other than who you are will have you twisted up like a pretzel and held in bondage by the other person. True Love is all about acceptance. It is not about the other person telling you how to behave, or what you need to be doing all the time. A partnership does not hold one person hostage while the other does whatever the hell they choose to do without consulting you.

True Love

Following are the signs of real and true love. Not to be confused by infatuation. True love lasts. True Love does not put you down or try to change who you are. All relationships will eventually have conflict. There is no such thing as a perfect relationship, or a perfect person. The truth of the matter is that there will be many more people available to you when you love and accept yourself completely. As a matter of fact, I have seen this time and time again, when you love yourself, the person you need to be with is standing right in front of you, and you didn't even have to go looking!

Real love is always there. Whether you are divorced from them, one of you dies, or you end up living apart, True Love is there forever. Death, distance, circumstance does not change true and real love.

Characteristics Of Real or True Love
  1. You feel comfortable, rather than awkward in their presence.
  2. Conversation flows easily.
  3. You are accepted for who you are.
  4. You are accepted for what you think.
  5. Your beliefs are your beliefs and you are allowed to think differently from your partner.
  6. You would never dream of hurting or harming each other.
  7. There is no jealousy.
  8. You are both respected by one another.
  9. You are able to ask for what you want without having to manipulate to get it.
  10. You are just as strong on your own as you are together.
  11. Your love enhances your life rather than detracts from it.
  12. You Bless each other rather than put each other down.
What Is Your Mission and Purpose In Life?

When we are codependent our mission is to find love. The problem with this thinking is that we are empty inside looking for someone else to fill a deep chasm. Following are important points to focus on to help you get out of codependency and begin to feel whole and complete. Loving and accepting yourself  as you are, rather than looking to be perfect is the first step.

Purification

It is time to clean up your life and thoughts. Sage your brain, sage your home. Sage your car. Train your brain to be positive. Don't have arguments in your home, as the energy stays there and is absorbed by all the soft furnishings you own. If you get divorced, you don't want to drag your bed, couch and pillows with you. Get rid of them. Clean up your energy by letting go of the things that have sad memories attached to them.

Answer The Following Questions:

  1. Where did I come from?
  2. Who am I? (child of God, Divine being)
  3. What is my purpose here?
  4. How Can I Serve? Giving back to the earth, humanity, your community, unwed mothers, teens without parents....

Chanting

In my home, I leave Pandora on all day with chanting. Deva Premal has some beautiful chanting music. This energy purifies your home. It will make it more harmonious for you. When you have harmony inside you, there will be harmony outside you as well.

  1. Your thoughts create. Make sure what comes out of your brain and mouth are positive. Positive thoughts create positive outcomes, negative thoughts create negative outcomes. You are more powerful than you know. Think of each thought or word being broadcast out into The Universe with a huge megaphone and you are a holding a huge magnet. Your thoughts broadcast on broadband Internet all over the Universe and are magnetized right back to you. If you think bad things will happen they will. If you doubt that you will ever be successful and that the only luck you have is bad luck than that is true for you too. That is why you have shit in your life. This
    Yes it is SHIT!
is why circumstances that come to you are piles of shit coated crap. Your thoughts have to be pristine, positive and happy.
  2. No matter what happens in your life - you are the cause. Instead of blaming others for what is going on, look inside. What are you feeling, thinking or saying that created this?
  3. FORGIVE EVERYONE AND YOURSELF! Each event that happens in your life is for your good and is here to evolve your soul. Letting go of past hurts and forgiving is for you.
  4. Love Everyone! Each of us is part of the whole. You are connected to everyone around you. We all originated from the same DNA, the same molecules. Having hatred for anyone means you hate yourself.
